My gran Elsie Williams lived in Portland Court flats they had tremendous views of the recreation area ( visible at frame 0.53)which in the early 70's l loved. Her father was a merchant seaman and lived in the beautiful old mariners home. My dad recalled how his grandfather Harry Williams owned a timber yard by the docks in the thirties and lived at a house called Woodcroft which was actually documented in A History of Wallasey and name checked to my absolute delight! Another family member George Dent, a steward, was on the SS City of Brussels which sank in the Mersey Estuary in 1883 after a collision with the SS Una of Hull,in early morning fog;he was picked up in only his nightshirt and his wedding band which we still have! I always love the Wirral especially those red rocks before you plunge down towards West Kirby..(?) Great video thanks.

Love it! Wallasey gave me a great place to grow up in the 50s and 60s.
