They're not losing just the trust of the players, they're losing the players. I have never seen a friends list as empty as mine has been for the past few months. Long time and I mean like D1 regulars long time are never on anymore.
it’s probably a mixture of the developers losing trust + your friends getting older and having families/priorities either way, i understand what you mean
Yeah it's a shame that all these companies are being blamed for people only playing Warzone even though Warzone is ten time worse than Destiny has ever been, you can take out the best map and the whole of Warzone one which people bought skins and all sorts for spending hundreds and ruin the movement with the 20hz servers and make the game near unplayable and nobody stops playing, but if Bungie remove ten year old content most people got on offer for 20 bucks just so the game isn't bloated and they're not wasting servers on unpopulated activities and have 1 small bug every 6 months Bungie doesn't hear the end of it, it's just bandwagons, playing Warzone is a bandwagon and so is hating on Destiny.
This December is gonna be especially rough for destiny. BO6 is still going strong, and the new zombies map drops in a couple of days, Marvel rivals is gonna be big, indiana jones might be good and draw some out, and I'm sure a few others I've forgotten.
Said it many times before, they are just doing the bare minimum to keep the game alive and keep the money coming in, they couldn't care less about it's players anymore.
I mean, we went from having like 1 major “It’s over moment,” a year, to have like 6 since Lightfall came out. 2023 state of the game still lives rent free in my head.
It’s the fact that if there’s a bug that benefits us as players, they’re fixed as a matter of urgency. But when it’s bugs that goes against us, they come across as they’re not important enough to focus on. That kills trust too.
People are taking for granted how hard it is to find bugs in random rolls. Meanwhile, it is very easy to pinpoint that an exotic armor buff caused an instakill glitch. It also isn't "fun" for stasis warlock, literally only for Winter's Wrath (which is also on Prismatic)
@SlyRocko I wanted to more point out that players have been unknowingly dealing with a bug for such a long time that negatively impacted their experience but when theres a pve bug that doesn't hinder the general player base due to how complex and inconsistent it is gets diable almost immediately. Also I don't really understand your fun comment fully. Titans had Melees higher than dmg cap and I had just as fun back then as I did with this.
It IS pretty lazy, and classic PR crap from a company via wording. Something's wrong if the community finds your bugs, but what's worse? Identifying it and saying nothing and the community finds it, or finding it and not fixing it and the community finds out? They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. Sometimes saying nothing is better.

Bro Bungie lost my trust when they took all the content I paid for and removed it from the game a bunch of years ago. If people are still giving these crooks your money they deserve whatever you get back honestly. Stockholm syndrome is real and Destiny 2 players are all the proof anyone needs.
I haven’t touched Destiny 2 in a minute but a lot of games are now doing this. Look at call of duty they just reissue old maps, weapons and skins then add a few features or extra things to it and resell it every year. Sure they actually make a fair amount of content but to some people still play it strictly for the gameplay alone and how the game feels. I see and fully get what you feel and mean about vaulting everything you paid for.
@@makingacomment Yeah reusing shit is becoming a plague, and I totally understand what you mean about playing for the feel. I still load up Destiny2 and play for a day or two a few times a year just because the shooting is great. I don't give them any money though, because like I said they entirely lost my trust and nothing they've done in the years since has even remotely begun to earn it back. In fact its only further eroded. At this point if they released Destiny 3 I probably wouldn't even buy it unless every single review was 10/10 and they stopped the CONSTANT stream of FOMO bullshit.
@ yeah you pretty much checked off every sentiment that I’ve had since minute one and my exact feelings towards the game. I get weird sometimes and I still have this lingering thought. “Well if I like the game and enjoy what I’m doing I’ll still buy into certain things”. I know it’s not a good mentality but it’s for if I want something more to do. In between life stuff or if I get bored of other games.

Exactly. We knew they never had testers all the way back in Season of the Worthy. Ten minutes playing the Felwinters Lie mission would have easily been enough to tell that the door was stuck lol, but nobody tested the mission xD
Just like with Bethesda games we're not only the testers but also trusted to fix any issues (Weightgate is the most recent example). If Destiny had a modding feature they'd probably stop making DLC altogether.
fr I feel like alot of people forgot about how bad and alienating Year 1 D2 was. Bad is one thing, development hell, whatever, but they straight up moved in a direction that nobody wanted them to.
@@KROKIACKthey also said XP throttling was a "bug" until they had to admit that they were actually doing this terrible practice. Good luck if YOU trust them. Those days are over.
What annoys me the most is that tons of bugs like these that are an inconvenience to players season after season it takes them weeks/months to fix. As soon as the community finds a weapon/ability/super that allows us to significantly do more damage or regain abilities faster in PVE, Bungie all of sudden has unlimited resources to devote to fixing these immediately.
This! 1000000%! It's like there is a team at Bunjie where their entire jobs is to find the ways players are having actual fun and push and update immediately that "fixes" the issue or nerfs whatever gun or ability was being used into the ground. That's one of the main reasons I stopped playing
The mental gymnastics Destiny players put themselves through to justify continuing to play is astounding. I get it, played since D1, but Bungie has just done so much to sabotage their own game I haven't played in years. The satisfying gunplay and game loop keep players attached when all the love is gone.
Whats crazy to me about weightgate (besides the fact that it just exists at all) is that since its probably been in since forsaken, some people are looking at a few hundred hours of wasted time that got brushed off by "yay random rolls are back". Think grinding out those gallards at the forge, getting the perfect spare rations at reckoning. All of it was novel again to us so people didnt sit down and crunch the numbers, or they did and it didnt gain any traction. I think Crafting really helped expose this problem because now everyone had access to what 5/5 rolls should feel like so grinding just felt sluggish in comparison and thats when players finally put pencil to paper and calculated the odds
Paul Tassi digging up some old skeletons in Bungie’s closet to hammer home a very valid point feels good. It’s sad that it makes me feel this way, but it can’t be helped when the players get burned by them constantly.
Paul Tassi doesn't dare to have an opinion about anything before watching all the other streamers and gauging the way the wind is blowing. Plus, he is the most boring person in existence.
Pretty much Final Shape was the end point for a lot of players and they pretty much said goodbye to Destiny 2. Maybe if Bungie/Destiny 2 was in great shape, then they would stay, but it really feels like Bungie is putting in the bare minimum of work to keep the game going until Marathon launches and hoping for that to be a big success to replace Destiny 2.
Then when Marathon fails, Bungie will desperately try to revive Destiny 2 only to be told to "fuck off" by the players they spat on for years. At this point, if Bungie gets closed, I won't shed a tear. They've been dead for years now
Marathon is a pvp game made by developers who can't play or fix PvP games. Anyone with a brain would put 2 and 2 together and realise if a game that has been out for a decade has such a badly balanced PvP mode then those devs cannot develop a pvp game.
Destiny 2 could be in its best shape ever, and players would still be leaving. We needed Destiny 3, and we all know how that turned out. The Final Shape was one of the best-if not the best-expansion they’ve ever released, yet it saw fewer players than Lightfall, and the same happened with Lightfall compared to its predecessor. For those who haven’t tried the game, the thought of jumping into Destiny 2-a game that’s been around for seven years-just doesn’t appeal. The solution was always the next chapter, the next Destiny, but we all know that’s never coming. As a result, this game is on a slow, painful death.
It's been said for awhile that there are those within Bungie that just don't like Destiny and never really have. Same thing happened with Halo except they were able to conclude their run on that and move on. Inb4 they hate Marathon for the same reason of having been the ones to make it
I'm not excited for Heresy, because of the fact that we are going back to the dreadnought in an episode, not an expansion. It's not going to be a new big explorable area with all the old stuff we knew and loved aswell as new stuff. Best case scenario, it's going to be like season of the haunted where we go back there, theres a few hidden chests, but nothing to really do other than a public event over and over. Worst case scenario, it's going to be like contest of elders where we only go back there during a repeating seasonal activity that isn't very fun, and a few times during the 3 minute story missions that we get every few quest steps.
@@snottytoe6957 That’s the issue with these Destiny bootlickers. That weird-ass mindset they all have is the reason why nothing good ever changes in the game.
Just think, if the community didn’t find that loot discrepancy thousands of us would still be wasting time and energy in a error made by Bungie or should I say made and “Not found” by Bungie. This is the buggiest season in Destiny’s history. Part of the reason is that Destiny is not a priority for Bungie anymore. The other part of the reason is the Laid offs. Either way you look at it it’s looking really bad for Destiny and Bungie.
Honestly Bungie should consider implementing an in game trading system. I started playing Warframe about half way through D2s last episode and I honestly like being able to grind for gear as well as being able to trade with other players.
That's what I'm saying! Trading solves so many of Warframe's would-be problems that would ruin the game for a lot of people. It definitely wouldn't solve all of Destiny's problems, and I don't even know how you would go about deciding what would be tradable and what wouldn't, but it'd be nice to have.
It's also just the perfect catch up solution for getting friends into the game Confused and bored because the new player experience is dogshit? Your friend who recommended the game can just throw a couple cool weapons and armour pieces in your vault so you can start messing around with builds and guns on regular content. I've just started WoW for the first time ever since classic got new servers and just having a friend online who'd just check up and trade me a couple weapons for free helped get over the hump of starting at 0 in both power and knowledge.
Any developers who follow the mantra “make sure you don’t overdeliver” is a developer I want no part of, I’ve uninstalled and don’t plan on ever coming back, the ship has sailed, I’m at the point where I’d rather watch a streamer play the story and the day one raids than going through the slog myself.
Jesus christ how can you NOT think they are weighing the odds in their favor? The more we have to grind in ANY sort of drops, the more player retention and that pleases suits over there; it's the most basic, scummiest thing any company can do. Have people forgotten about xp throttling? or the other million scummy things that bungie has done? Good lord
I don’t get how people understand this. It’s crazy how a lot of destiny loyalists are blinded by their passion for the game and would actually think bungie is making genuine “mistakes” since destiny is dying the only way to keep player retention is to force them into activities by locking the “god rolls” behind impossible odds so you just mindlessly play without even questioning it. It’s no different than how Vegas knows how to keep people on slot machines by making you believe there is a chance at a jackpot just to get your hopes up everytime
@@marshallman402 Preach. People call it "pessimism" when you point out how grindy shit is, and how every single system is designed to force you to play for exponentially longer amounts of time just to get little scraps of what you're actually interested in, and say you "should be giving (Bungie) the benefit of the doubt" whenever they completely fuck up something *basic* like the core mechanic for the entire season.
That's funny.I haven't been able to do any of the seasonal activities yet as I am still waiting on them to fix the quest to "gather ingredients" from the shelf.
It always has been. Bungie has been testing the breaking point of players for years when it comes the grind. They only pull back when the numbers tell them to or our complaints go viral. Ain't nothing new. If it increases playtime then there's an obcensely high chance it's going to be added to the game regardless of how the players feel about it.
When they removed DLC under the guise of "technical restriction" (I am a enterprise software architect by profession) which was a load of bullshit. They haven't had my trust since then. Additionally, the weight-gate stuff was all bullshit. They could simulate drops for a core activity easily and create weight associations with perks. It is simple to do with their tools. Such a joke. Destiny 2 doesn't even feel worth playing anymore.
Thank you! Same! I always thought the DCV was such a cop out. I think I remember them saying as the game grew it was getting harder to manage so they decided to get rid of older content?
I mean you are sort of right I think it more or less an issue of the game being poorly optimized. I noticed a significant difference in loading zones between PC and PlayStation 4 when they first implemented cross save and play. Gave your comment a like because well more or less it is BS. The only technical issues there is is lazy testing and development.
it wasn't *entirely* a "technical restriction", but two changes occurred at the same time that made porting all old content a lot of extra work bungie simply didn't have time to do: first, they completely changed the lighting engine, this was mostly the reason for removing crucible maps, it'd have taken too long to re-light them all manually. then for old raids: raid mechanics were moved from the mission host (a bungie server running at low TPS with limited access to information about the activity) to the physics host (which is a player instance, runs at 20TPS and has precise data about everything. which players have what buffs, exactly where all the enemies are, etc) this change required them to *effectively* re-do last wish and garden in order to keep them working on the new system... and not without major issues. garden was *rough* with all the bugs for a while after beyond light and riven literally went double-speed compared to before (in fact, she's still faster than before beyond light, as bungie kept some of the speed increase). that does not mean they "couldn't" have ported the old content over. they 100% could have. what the couldn't do was do so within the limited time they had. if the playerbase (and investors) were okay with waiting another 6 months for beyond light, they would have probably been able to at least keep the raids. but not making that big sale in 2020 would have made their year-figures look TERRIBLE, which investors do not like. as for weightgate, they *do* have those tools, they *did* check, they just didn't think to check perk *combinations*, only individual perks. and all perks were dropping equally (just skewed to specific combinations) they're choices that are somewhat understandable, but choices everyone would have liked to see done differently.
@@Razgar_Voxel it felt to me like they didn’t want to do the hard work of keeping it all working so they just thought eff it let’s just get rid of old content
Bungie have never been ahead of the game. They launched D1 on the back-foot and have been scrambling ever since. This is why you don’t build anything on a poor foundation
It’s things like this that makes me hope Marathon fails and Sony takes over. They can’t even maintain their main game, how can they possibly maintain another IP?
I played Destiny from the alpha all the way up to the end of the end of the first echos episode and always thought i would play it as i invested so much time into it, however when there was nothing to do a few weeks before Revenant i switched to Warframe and loved it and really enjoyed the grind. I booted up destiny a few days ago and played through act 1 and a bit of act 2 and just could not get into it. The gameplay felt slow and boring and the story was also the same, i never thought i would reach a point where i would not enjoy destiny but here we are. I'm hoping that frontiers will be able to pull me and many of the playerbase back in.
After the news broke that there were, and never had been, any plans for Destiny 3, I decided to quit the game after years of playing and earning nearly every single title. Many of my friends also did the same. When you hear something like that, it hits you hard-that there’s no future for a franchise you’ve invested so much time in, and it makes you question why you should keep going. It pains me to say it, but the franchise I love is slowly dying and I’m not even sure if Bungie wants to save it.
@@abyssal-labsi understand a lot of criticisms of the game, i never understood this one. you guys never EVER played that content that they took away. and everything that was taken away that was important got reprised and made better like outbreak and whisper.

We paid them for a baked potato, and as we're biting into the potato, it's not cooked. And we need to jump into the kitchen to help them finish cooking it and discover what's wrong?! I'm sorry, but 1) we're not chefs, we're the customer who paid them, and 2) it's they're job, not ours. At this point, we shouldn't be surprised. You cut QA, quality goes down. Basic Business 101.
I got Destiny the week that Taken King came out. I barely played the seasons at the end of 2022 (the pirate themed one?), hopped on again last year for a bit, and stopped playing last summer right before they brought back all of the old game breaking weapons - Reclue, Edge Transit, etc. and haven’t touched D2 since. I haven’t looked back and I’ve been so happy not being involved with this game. I miss my friends and the community, but I’m so much happier playing literally anything that’s not Destiny 2.
I don't remember with enough accuracy to say if it's the "buggiest" season, but I thought season of the dawn had a really moment relating to this topic. This was before they said they would start rolling back Fomo leading to beyond light. There's a seasonal mechanic where you had to upgrade obelisks on different patrol zones, which was part of the seasonal questline. When the EDZ obelisk dropped, it was bugged so you couldn't interact, therefore gating your seasonal progress at a time where fomo was wild compared to now. The timing of this compounded the issue, as the release of this specific step of the season quest was deep in December, when all of Bungie was on Holiday, so the best they could offer was a very inconsistent workaround.
With the layoffs, focus on marathon, failed projects and more, you can never be optimistic about destiny’s future when we know damn well that bungie lacks the resources/commitment to make Destiny the best it can be.
We have identified an issue where players are realizing we’ve been exploiting and lying to them every chance we get since the OG light engram xp values.
Everyone forgot that bs ever happened and it's a shame. Because many instances like that have happened numerous other times throughout Destiny's lifetime since no one harbors any form of criticism anymore. Everyone forgets and forgives too easily because it's considered toxic to care.
It’s cute you think Bungie is the only company that is “milking its players.” They are all this way, stop pretending they are not all the same. We live in a capitalist society my guy. Shocker that companies want money.
@@FalconStkr1it’s not only bungie but out of fps shooters bungie is losing the most players which means their exploitation is egregious enough to make people quit.
This, the DCV, and finding out we've been funding 5+ incubation projects while they routinely cut corners on the game we're paying for while complaining that they have to make good expansions to save their own studio killed any trust I could ever have for them. They're cooked and they did it to themselves
I am a day 1 Destiny player. I look forward to the holidays to play some D2, but they lost me, and this is the first holiday where I won't be playing it. I tried to get back on it a month ago but felt lost. I do hope to one day come back it but I don't feel the urge as I just felt Bungie lost its players and many of us that have been there since day 1 are playing other games. Sadly, I wished the game was in a better state.
At this point I'm only coming back for the cheapest cosmetics any game has had since the beginning of micro transactions. We payed more to play destiny than any other game and they removed content I payed for. Then proceed to make every cool armor set $10 to $20. This is only the start of trust issues with Bungie.
Destiny’s player base has almost never been lower than it is now. Concurrent players are in the tens of thousands on the best days. Bungie’s not retaining anyone and the game is suffering for it
Removing crafting killed my desire to play the seasonal activities. Having patterns to grind for gave me the drive to engage. I don’t feel like grinding for singular god rolls to hoard in my vault, knowing I probably wouldn’t use them over my tried-and-trues.
Same. I play just enough to get what I need done at the moment but don’t even try chasing rolls. If I get one ok roll then that’s good enough. If I were chasing red borders I for sure would be playing more of this season since I’m not looking for 1 drop, I’m looking for 5 red borders.
Yeah, the good thing with crafting is that you could build the weapon, level it up to try out the perk combos you want and if you don't like it, shard it. Then later on down the line you can craft a new one if you decide you want it again and aim for the perk roll combo you want.
@@Cabbage22927 Bungie’s official reasoning is that seasonal weapons craftability should be a catch-up mechanic for those who didn’t play the activity when it was available. In other words, the new seasonal weapons will not be craftable until Apollo launches and the activities are vaulted. Only new/reprised Raid weapons will remain craftable Day One. I’m not a fan of this change, and neither are a lot of people.
There was about a week or two that myself and fiend also could not progress the season but eventually just crafted extra potions and it started working. The seasonal mechanic was very vague on how to progress.
I played the first act post final shape and was just done, i put up with it for 10 years and just couldn't do it anymore and every week I'm shown over and over that I made the correct choice in finally stepping away.

The entire year of Witch Queen was the most I've enjoyed Destiny in years, I'd done all the dungeons/raids which was typically unheard of given my other interests, and I had full artifice armor/multiple builds on characters going into Lightfall. I cannot express to how totally that next expansion killed all that momentum I felt personally, it's simply never coming back
Brave man saying the launch of destiny 2 was when you trusted destiny, me too brother I was expecting as growth on the age of triumph and a more involved game. I was so disappointed...
It's just simple stuff that needs fixing or could use some serious updating. Dungeons could use a loot revamp. If we can't craft them then we need to be able to purchase them with a dungeon currency. Battlegrounds need to go. They're mostly boring and over extend the length of the mission gratuitously. The bugs. The weight gate. The crafting being sidelined. I log on check the bright dust store and leave. That's all I do anymore.
Did they ever even acknowledge the proof, PROOF, being shown that Warlocks were getting less XP overall almost everywhere? Seems like that just disappeared.
A few weeks ago and since, i saw for the first time since D1 beta, not one of my friends was playing destiny 2. That was really weird to see, and then i realized, i havent played destiny for 2+ months now, and i dont miss it. Thats so strange to me. Especially since ive sunk over 7000 hours between both games. I used to have withdrawals if i didnt get my daily destiny fix, but now that need is gone. 2 months have passed and i didnt even notice.
Day One player here, I gave up about a week after vespers launched. 1700 Hours logged. I REALLY enjoyed TFS, but everything started to feel wrong. Bugs, lack of direction, lack of players on LFG. Also having 70 clears of warlords and still not dropping bloodline really stuck in my craw, my buddy dropped it 8 times. The grind is real - and its harsh. I may come back to replay some things, but I dont feel like I can face it any more.
I haven't played Tomb of Elders enough or tried to focus a specific weapon via tonic system to come with a conclusion. As for the rest of the tonics, they work fine for me.
I ran Onslaught salvation the other day, died right at the end of the final boss and self rezed. It put me in the servitor room, the room you go to between rounds, and wouldn't let me out or collect the loot. Nothing went to the mailbox.
This this whole loot fiasco completely destroyed my motivation to farm ANYTHING that doesn't drop withing like the first hour or so. Because why even try? You never now if the loots buggy or not.
It should destroy your motivation. Players don't deserve to spend THIS much time farming and grinding for not only minimal rewards when things ARE working...but with things NOT working, you're not even getting what you're TRYING to get. It's toxic, it's manipulative and players don't deserve it.
@@Hawk-Eye-bs2hr Warframe may take time, but you get a lot of rewards, many tradeable if you don't get exactly what you want. Bugs constantly getting in the way of already grueling farms...yeah, that ain't it.
Last time I trusted was pre-lightfall. WQ and those seasons were really killer for me, I was playing everyday. Thanks for bringing up QA. I think it's really key. Note major QA firings happened post-TFS...echoes had a QA team. A lot of Revenant lacked QA, and heresy likely will be developed mostly with the current skeleton QA team. Let's not lower heat at management, they're still a huge problem.
My warlock is still stuck on step 1 of the tonic brewing guide. it instructs me to claim ingredients from the cabinet but nothing happens when i do that. Worst part is that it cant be deleted.
I feel like we arent in the buggiest season, but its definitely the most negatively buggiest season. Other seasons we have had bugs in our favour (craftening, enhancement core farming etc) but this is purely against the players. If we didnt point this out and do our own research weight gate and tonic gate wouldnt have been fixed
The other thing about laying off QA is that some folks in QA are specialists - you can't necessarily slot in headcount at Ple 2 Win or Sony and make up the for the loss of people who've been testing destinations or narrative for years and know all the ins and outs to look for.
I’ve focused 70~ engrams for iron banner and haven’t had a single sidearm with air trigger/chill clip. My buddies have open 50~ and another has 65~ focused and not a single one of us has had the drop. Definitely feels like weighted perks are still happening.

Yes. Speaking as someone who's hardly engaged since finishing TFS. If I'd actually regularly engaged with the buggy systems they've put out and been a victim of the failed RNG, I'd be at least disheartened, if not pissed.
If you only played before TFS, then you were a bigger victim of the bad drops wasting your time than a player who started after TFS, because they've been broken since Forsaken.
I was a D1 player....left during D2 beta and then came back a couple years ago. The day I finally un-installed was when my gamer tag got randomly banned for no reason. It turned out to be a hick up or something and a small percentage got randomly banned. Big rips.
Ya, you won't dare call it out as intentional. You don't want to lose your precious trip out to headquaters aka the castle of F CRAP. This Game is utter BS garbabge.
Same here. My first drop came with reverberation and about an 80% of the following drops also came with reverberation but not a single one with chill clip
They need to fix the bug where I’m paired against world champion PvP players. I win one then lose fifteen some were mercy called. I know you can’t win them all but my win loss rate is 0.12 with a KD 1:59. That’s my rant thank you
It’s really just a consequence of the matchmaking pool being so low those players are the only ones left to match make against. It will not get better than this.
Fr I wanted to just play pvp casually but the matchmaking is in complete shambles and nothing their "strike team" has done made any difference despite writing 5 page essays for why they made the changes they made to pvp during every balance pass. But I digress bc really I shouldn't be matched against a team of four who all get 2.0 kds and two solos who perform variably just because my team has a team of four who all go negative while I'm one of our two solos. Absolutely crazy that pvp still has so many problems even with a dedicated team and 10 years of experience with the franchise and they expect to sell a live service pvp based game within the next two years.
The amount of times that I’ve gotten identical rolls or similar rolls repeatedly in close proximity to each other if not back to back to back since I started playing this game. I am 100% certain that the weight gate has existed since random rolls were first introduced in D2. They have assured us time and time again over the years that things were not weighted but that bug being found just confirmed it to me. Bungie had no idea it existed until the community dug into it… How many people have been suspicious of weighting and for how long??
D1 alpha player. 2.7k hours and pvp enthusiast. Stuck with D2 vanilla and the game improved. Then sunsetting and stasis happened. PVP players said stasis would be a problem just as we said double primaries were going to be a problem. Bungie never listened nor cared. So after taking a break from sunsetting and stasis, I found that there are other games out there worth my time and never came back. Watching from afar, sunsetting getting gradually rolled back and stasis getting nerfed was entertaining.
Bring back crafting. Im not filling my vault or calendar for crappy seasonal weapons. I'll grind for the patterns, but im not filling my vault with crap.
Preach brother!! Crazy when some UA-camrs thought they’d gaslight everyone into thinking we not only wanted no crafting but they actually asked for it. Unfortunately bungie will never ever listen to you because you’re not a big UA-camr with the worst takes possible and you’re not pretending to be the voice of the community
My vault is full of junk that I think might be good in the future somehow when in reality I only use about 12 different weapons on a regular basis if that. They should just make it to where you can craft pretty much everything at this point. Let people run whatever they want and if you want to switch it up you can do it easily.
Fun SHOULD be the first priority and bungie are the biggest fun police out there. Not even talking about the bugs and issues, just making crazy weird decisions to make the game less fun
People demanded an end to crafting because it was making the game too fun. People demanded that every enemy and boss be given 40x as much health because it was previously too much fun. People demanded that the game add a shitton more grinding so they'd "have a reason to log in." People got what they wanted, I guess.
Idk if this will show up or notify the other replier but that couldn't be more wrong. D2 players arent a hivemind , only no lifers/streamers wanted more grind. Every silent majority of the player group loved crafting because it took care of fomo
My titian is soft locked on the quest and my warlock also now locked on step 4 of the craft tonic quest which was triggered by switching characters while mid crafting a tonic
Love how Cross lists off bugs but failed to mention the dozen or so in Vesper’s like tether being disabled since launch (edit: he eventually mentioned tether, just not when he was listing off bugs initially), Atraks failing to spawn ruining flawless runs, first encounter not working if you go too fast (causing cores not to spawn), first secret chest only being grabbable by one person, being stuck at step 9 of 10 because second chest won’t work whatsoever, being unable to progress at certain parts because other people are at other parts of the questline.
When I deleted Destiny I didn’t even feel any loss. for ten years of time and money I thought maybe I would have felt something however it wasn’t so. The Destiny I started with felt way bigger than the Destiny I ended with. I have no regrets for playing, there’s just nothing of tangible experience. At the end I feel Destiny was a giant experiment like when they have a button that a rat touches to get a reward. The time and money is the rat given more rewards the loot. In the end the reward was like a never changing cycle of carrots and sticks. I discovered the reward should be found in the joy of playing and not the participation awards. The search for fun in RNG only leads to more searching when the fun was in the playing and social experience. I lost trust long ago in Destiny and I even gave them the carrot of expansions as a maybe it has changed.
I noticed this weeks ago and I just stopped playing the game. The funny thing is I knew that the community was having this issue and was waiting for a video (that I knew was going to be made.) to laugh
I’m 99.999999% sure that the Iron Banner is weighted. I played all weekend. Focused all my engrams on the Strand Grenade launcher to try and get Threadling/Sever and not a single roll. Some had one of each but rarely. I didn’t get a single drop even after completing a match that was even the grenade launcher alone. Vorpal weapon grave robber and construct seemed to be on every launcher though.
Similar experience trying to get a chill clip sidearm, took a week of playing everyday to get the perk to roll.. even then the barrel/mag and first perk all suck
As for my multimach, I still haven't seen DSR iron reach full range combination ever drop after spending over 1/3 of my glimmer material storage Speaking of just for DSR with iron reach merely, still haven't dropped
It's not just things like game mechanics being broken, it's all the other little things that show the game just isn't being maintained. The orbit screen planets glitch for a second every time you orbit. Loading into PvP sits on a blank screen for ages. Random audio plays when you're flying into activities or the tower. There's just so much stuff that's glitching and these small things only get bigger.
I used to have a family fireteam and guild, my other family members quit because of extremely poor RNG, we ran dungeons each week and the exotic for that dungeon was not dropping even after so many tries and runs weekly with no exotic drop it was the last straw for them and so they decided they were done it was being way to grindy for them with no payout for the grind.
Tried to help a buddy with the coop campign missions, we get to the final fight against the witness, kill the 2nd statue, kill the subjugators, nothing spawns. No darkness target, nothing, just endless grim and a sword to do nothing with. And its not a darkness zone anymore so we couldn't even reset the encounter. Rip an hour of my time and his microchosm
The number of crazy matches where my team and the enemy team would run the same character was funny af. One match my friend and I had, him and I ran Reaper and solder 76, then our team switched to them, and we started pushing the team back. Then, the enemy team switched to solder 76, and then they started to push us back. So my friend and I switched to Mei, and then our team followed us. again, we push the team back. They switched to Mei, and it just became a stand still. It was one of the most fun matches I remember
I think part of the issue is simply how many tonics there are are. Large number of seasonal mechanics, not enough testers to make sure they actually work as intended.
Weight gate is in full effect with iron banner side arm. I focused every engram and reset my rank, not one chill clip. You have a better chance of getting a dungeon or raid exotic.
Very case by case situation, I've seen people with multiple chill clip rolls from a few engrams, hell I got 2 air trigger, chill clip and high explosive ordinance rolls from like my first 5 engrams. Anything that's not 100% guaranteed is just that..not guaranteed.
@@youtuberuser0109 nigga, either get buddy his chill clip roll or get on somewhere with your bs, explain to him that RNG is still RNG..but sure let's throw weight gate at everything now and see if it sticks.
Destiny's story probably would have worked way better as a TV show. Imo, Revenant's story is actually pretty solid but it's being held back by the seasonal/episodic model.
Bruh, they lost my trust a while before Weight-Gate was exposed, back when I noticed very weird patterns and results from drops and turning in engrams. And even for years before that, I knew back then that certain perk combos and rolls were just harder to come by. Its digital slot machines, and slot machines are rigged to a certain extent. Luckily, I dont always need to trust them 100% in order to enjoy the game. They're a for-profit company; I trust them as far as I can throw em.
I didn't even bother giving the dipshits who said I was "imagining things" when I talked about how absolute dogshit drops were a 'told you so'. And slot machines aren't rigged. They're never rigged. Gambling is the single most highly regulated industry on the face of the planet. With a real slot machine, you have *exactly* the stated chance, every time you pull the handle or hit the button, without fail.
Weird thing that this never happened to me. When I drink a tonic, it always gives me the weapons it says. So it's obviously a player specific bug, which is probably harder to fix for them. ( NOTE: I didn't test them INSIDE Tomb of Elders, only in other activities, and they work for me)
They're not losing just the trust of the players, they're losing the players. I have never seen a friends list as empty as mine has been for the past few months. Long time and I mean like D1 regulars long time are never on anymore.
it’s probably a mixture of the developers losing trust + your friends getting older and having families/priorities
either way, i understand what you mean

@SlyRocko I wanted to more point out that players have been unknowingly dealing with a bug for such a long time that negatively impacted their experience but when theres a pve bug that doesn't hinder the general player base due to how complex and inconsistent it is gets diable almost immediately. Identifying it and saying nothing and the community finds it, or finding it and not fixing it and the community finds out? They're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Because they care about keeping you playing. It can be hot garbage but if you keep playing it they are proven right. Do not be a pay pig.

Remember, expgate. i believe they set it like this. Then get caught and always call it a bug.

Marathon is more then likely DOA
Inb4 they hate Marathon for the same reason of having been the ones to make it
They lost me during Final Shape. The game is not the same and never will be.
they lost me by stealing my payed dlc´s
If there was a similar game like destiny(simple mmo, gorgeous graphics, amazing story and lore), I’d switch in a heartbeat.

What sucks is that we’re even less likely to get features that we actually want, because they can barely keep the game functioning as it is.
Settle for mediocrity and thats what you get.
It's also just the perfect catch up solution for getting friends into the game
Confused and bored because the new player experience is dogshit?
Good lord
Big facts.

Sounds like you should take a break, you sound exhausted.
100% what everything they do is about. Getting players logged in longer no matter how they have to do it
It always has been.
The only technical issues there is is lazy testing and development.
it wasn't *entirely* a "technical restriction", but two changes occurred at the same time that made porting all old content a lot of extra work bungie simply didn't have time to do:
first, they completely changed the lighting engine, this was mostly the reason for removing crucible maps, it'd have taken too long to re-light them all manually.
then for old raids: raid mechanics were moved from the mission host (a bungie server running at low TPS with limited access to information about the activity) to the physics host (which is a player instance, runs at 20TPS and has precise data about everything. which players have what buffs, exactly where all the enemies are, etc)
this change required them to *effectively* re-do last wish and garden in order to keep them working on the new system... and not without major issues. garden was *rough* with all the bugs for a while after beyond light and riven literally went double-speed compared to before (in fact, she's still faster than before beyond light, as bungie kept some of the speed increase).
that does not mean they "couldn't" have ported the old content over. they 100% could have. what the couldn't do was do so within the limited time they had. if the playerbase (and investors) were okay with waiting another 6 months for beyond light, they would have probably been able to at least keep the raids. but not making that big sale in 2020 would have made their year-figures look TERRIBLE, which investors do not like.
as for weightgate, they *do* have those tools, they *did* check, they just didn't think to check perk *combinations*, only individual perks. and all perks were dropping equally (just skewed to specific combinations)
they're choices that are somewhat understandable, but choices everyone would have liked to see done differently.
@@Razgar_Voxel it felt to me like they didn’t want to do the hard work of keeping it all working so they just thought eff it let’s just get rid of old content

Somebody tell falcon I never said it was only bungie lol
Bungie’s not retaining anyone and the game is suffering for it
At this point the game should go back into early access since we're apparently all QA testers
They removed crafting??? Why???
@@Cabbage22927people were complaining that it got rid of the grind. Which is really dumb
I agree with one of the comments under the twitter post, destiny needs to go back to being an actual looter shooter
This game has died for me when final shape ended. Now it's on life support
So it died and came back to life for you and is close to dying again?
same. After final shape. I'm like well that was fun but now what. why am I strengthening my build now. We won the infinite war. It's over.
"we've encountered a problem with the tonics, the one guy in our QA team has discovered they arent working properly. As such, we have had to let them go"
"Fun should be the first priority" and i feel that it hasn't been for a lot of big companies for years now.
Bungie lost my trust years ago when they lied to us about capping the exp and tried to gaslight us. They've only proven that are not trustworthy since
Did they ever even acknowledge the proof, PROOF, being shown that Warlocks were getting less XP overall almost everywhere?
Where is the servitor room in Onslaught?
This this whole loot fiasco completely destroyed my motivation to farm ANYTHING that doesn't drop withing like the first hour or so. Because why even try? You never now if the loots buggy or not.
It should destroy your motivation. Players don't deserve to spend THIS much time farming and grinding for not only minimal rewards when things ARE working...but with things NOT working, you're not even getting what you're TRYING to get. It's toxic, it's manipulative and players don't deserve it.
Underrated comment
This makes Warframe farming seem like Disneyland.
@@Hawk-Eye-bs2hr Warframe may take time, but you get a lot of rewards, many tradeable if you don't get exactly what you want.
Bugs constantly getting in the way of already grueling farms...yeah, that ain't it.
@@RedShadowOfSaturn Or bashing one's noggin against a wall aka legendary/master lost sectors for a 0.000000000000001% chance for an exotic to drop.
I mean Destiny 2 lost the trust of its players the second they removed expansions from the game.
At what point do they need to start issuing refunds... their product is faulty and they don't seem to be able to fix it
I feel like we arent in the buggiest season, but its definitely the most negatively buggiest season. Other seasons we have had bugs in our favour (craftening, enhancement core farming etc) but this is purely against the players. If we didnt point this out and do our own research weight gate and tonic gate wouldnt have been fixed
Downside of having fired most of the QA team.
The entire core mechanic of the game simply not working at all doesn't make this the buggiest season?
I can’t ever find people on LFG anymore
The other thing about laying off QA is that some folks in QA are specialists - you can't necessarily slot in headcount at Ple 2 Win or Sony and make up the for the loss of people who've been testing destinations or narrative for years and know all the ins and outs to look for.
I’ve focused 70~ engrams for iron banner and haven’t had a single sidearm with air trigger/chill clip. My buddies have open 50~ and another has 65~ focused and not a single one of us has had the drop. Definitely feels like weighted perks are still happening.
Thank you bungie for consistently reminding me to not download your game again 🙏🔥
Same
But here you are involved in destiny content lmfao
@@stratus10601 maybe they just like supporting Aztecross by watching his video 🤷🏻♀️

Bugs are whatever, but I don’t understand how they can still mess up loot drops when they’ve been releasing rng loot systems for the last 10 years
I blame the layoffs, they lay off the whole RNG teams
My 50+ Tinashas dropping with adagio vs my 2 that dropped with chill clip says that weight gate has not been fixed...
Same here. My first drop came with reverberation and about an 80% of the following drops also came with reverberation but not a single one with chill clip
That's just RNG. Took me 2 and half resets for air trigger chill clip
Took me 26 Tinashas to get Air Trigger Chill Clip and a Deconstruct Chill clip. Neither have explosive ordnance...
It took me 1 engram xD
@@raysolo137 2 Rests and a half? That's so terrible lmao, tell me, how many hours of playing was that?
They need to fix the bug where I’m paired against world champion PvP players. I win one then lose fifteen some were mercy called. I know you can’t win them all but my win loss rate is 0.12 with a KD 1:59. That’s my rant thank you
Omg, calling them world champion pvp players is the realest perception--😭
Facts it’s honestly ridiculous
It’s really just a consequence of the matchmaking pool being so low those players are the only ones left to match make against. It will not get better than this.
Im so garbage at pvp that my amazing loot rng makes up for it xD
@@alexwilliamson9562 They will listen to all of us if we speak with our time.
I haven't played destiny in months and honestly I've enjoyed not having to play it so often just to keep up with everyone else I've been enjoying b06
As for my multimach, I still haven't seen DSR iron reach full range combination ever drop after spending over 1/3 of my glimmer material storage
Speaking of just for DSR with iron reach merely, still haven't dropped
They claim it is fixed, I don't buy that
It's not just things like game mechanics being broken, it's all the other little things that show the game just isn't being maintained. The orbit screen planets glitch for a second every time you orbit. Loading into PvP sits on a blank screen for ages. Random audio plays when you're flying into activities or the tower. There's just so much stuff that's glitching and these small things only get bigger.
The bugs are fucking unacceptable at this point, this has been the buggiest season in a good while, they lost player trust years ago.
PREACH!
Yep my group gets mostly armor drops and some still need the exotic it seems like the more you play the less rewarding it is.
@@terminate_allu just said a whole lot of nothing

Destiny's story probably would have worked way better as a TV show. Imo, Revenant's story is actually pretty solid but it's being held back by the seasonal/episodic model.
I agree, a TV show would be a great idea
( NOTE: I didn't test them INSIDE Tomb of Elders, only in other activities, and they work for me)
Wild to me that anyone is even playing Destiny anymore. They all but told you they were packing their bags and leaving.
