Good evening mimzy, love the video instruction. I'm looking forward to seeing you make this slip cover. My order of 9 x 12 canvas drop cloth just arrived today and this video is perfect timing. We might just be working simultaneously on our slip covers!
@@MimzyandCompany Nice! I am experimenting with one canvas, washing it several different ways to see what will soften it. So far the vinegar didn't work. On to bleach and hydrogen peroxide now. If you have any tips, I sure would appreciate hearing them 😊
@@sonshineandsong I've heard a lot of people just let the drop cloth soak for a couple hours in bleach water. just make sure it's quite diluted. otherwise you'll have holes.
@@MimzyandCompany thanks I appreciate it. My washer doesn't have a soak feature so I carried 10 buckets of hot water and added 2 cups of bleach and 1 1/2 cups of hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide breaks the bleaching power and helps prevent damage. It's been soaking 4 hours and time to rinse now.
That's great! ..well it's a lot more sewing than upholstery but easier to figure out i think. I also do upholstery and I'm thinking of making some videos so stay tuned.
I love the name Mimzy. I hate math, totally hate it, but your calculation description made sense to my non-mathematical brain. The link to the worksheet is not a link, just a description with "..." I will be slip-covering a bench with raised rolled arms on each side. Thank you for the subliminal suggestion to use plain fabric. This is my first slipcover, so I don't wish to cuss through the whole process if I choose a pattern (that I love.) Thank you for this video. Also, I don't see the link to the slip cover process.

@@larabellg8425 you can do it! just be patient with yourself.
You have inspired me to do a slip cover for my sofa instead of reupholstering it myself.
