There were sparkles that were too close to her eyes, like on her eyelashes. That might be dangerous because it’s possible that one of those sparkles could fall into her eye and scratch her cornea.

abby has such different/double standards when it comes to costumes, one day it’s “the costume is essential to the piece” and then it’s “you don’t need a hundred dollar costume to win”
I think because for some dances the costume is essential, like when Abby did the waiting room the costuming made sense, if they wore random dresses it wouldn’t have had the same impact. Now for like random group dances the costume might not be as important

I’m glad Chloe’s mom just walked out in the end. She’s one of the only dance moms with common sense, instead of causing scenes and shouting at other moms about the smallest things, and insulting each other regarding their style. Hats off to her.

That’s what I thought.
But the producers don’t pick the costumes. Thats out of their control. Abby decides the costumes or the mothers get them custom made or make them themselves.

I think you’re underestimating what the producers will do to create drama on the show. They have a lot more power than you think. After all, they have everyone under a contract.
Just a quick edit that I thought I would add:
Yes, it seems that generally, the moms and/or abby are the ones picking out or reusing costumes. But there are certain times where it definitely seems like the producers had a hand in picking out the costumes, such as the Laquifa costume Nia wore.

The thing is that the costume was like that because Abby said that her feet were ugly and also made pressley think that her body is ugly and that's why "she should hide it". Her mom just wanted her to understand that her daughter should not be afraid of her body and accept herself while Abby just wanted to create insecurities.
Right? Abby having Pressley “hide” her feet was because Abby felt as though her technique was not up to par. It was not because Abby was saying Pressley was ugly.
