- In this video I race the Criterium ''wielerronde Hartje Baarn'', 6 years after I won it in 2017. It was an extremely hot day that made for a tough race. After getting in the 3-man break in the first 5 laps, I managed to solo breakaway for the win!

I would love to fly over from the state an racing in Belgium for a few weeks an do this race. How the raced started is how I do most of my Zwift races from watching a lot of your video start fast an hit the group over an over again weeding out weaker riders letting the cream come to the top.
Zwift cant compare to real crits. Just so you know 🤪

70's Corvette in Europe is exceptional style for a ride to the race. Best car I ever arrived at a race in was a 73 Cadillac Eldorado convertible with enough chrome to contaminate all the Great Lakes. 3 riders, all our bikes fit in the trunk.

They leave room to let us pass but than just tag along (while we where a lot faster). I wgeee, they should’ve just let us get a gap and let us ride our race. But this is how it goes
how do you put Watt and bpm on the screen ? How do you record the whole race ? My gopro does not do that and battery is limited maximum 30 min ?

Can you do a video of your power from before to now and how did you train and how to discipline yourself. I just started cycling when i was 19 now I'm turning 21 this year. I've been to 2 races so far and I never got top 20. I did tried to train but after a couple of weeks I stop then all my efforts are wasted. Nice race and thank you, you are an inspiration.

Proficiat Jasper! Mooie overwinning en verdiend! 🎉Ik ben recent beginnen fietsen en ik kom over van het lopen en ik kan enkel maar met bewondering kijken naar die stuurvaardigheden. Ik merk als we fietsen op een bochtig route dat ik te veel energie verlies na de bocht omdat ik elke keer een sprintje moet trekken naar het wiel van de persoon voor me. En op de duur ben ik toast😂

Some strange rules there. You had to do 5 more laps than the bunch? And they are allowed to influence the race despite being a lap behind? In the UK they would have to allow separation. Nevertheless, fantastic effort and congrats on the win. Long fingered gloves due to excessive sweating? Love you and the boys are all kitted out in POC.
Yeah first group (break) does the full distance and the peloton will sprint first (so they don’t get in the way of yhe leaders)
But they don’t keep an eye on the peloton influencing the break during the race indeed. That’s weird I agree.
These were super airy gloves. I wear long fingers or no gloves at all. That’s how I like it. (Been bmx racing with long finger gloves for 20 years so I don’t know anything else)

Are those streets all brick? I've only done a few on bricks. I was bouncing all over on 21mm tubs. (This was probably in the 90's) High heat tends to drain me, until I overheat. I think that the hottest race I ever did was 36 degrees. ...Great result...... In 30 years of racing, I only won one race in a long solo break, like this.
PS. Those strider races can be rough. I've seen more than a few kids lose control, and crash.

Congrats! 🎉 wooohooo! I had just watched the 2017 race a week or so ago. Why were people on road who weren’t in race @17:15 (who was at least on side of road) and 22:34? 🤔 How can you tell how many minutes you are ahead of peloton? Good to see your kids are into racing and earning money too. 😊

Yeah because it’s a neighborhood and people live there so they just ride on the street (as least as possible), that lady at 22min just crossed without looking at all and I tried to scare here by flying by but it didn’t seem to impress here😂😂
