More than 41k people need to see this, there’s so much pressure on “grand weddings” in India, I hope the bubble bursts after COVID19 and people wisely spend their live long savings
Even before the pandemic, I and my bf have always wanted a small wedding (50 guests) that we ourselves would pay for and the wedding is our way. We would rather spend the money on our travels rather than wasting it all on just one day of partying where people would still find things to complain about. Also I don't even want to buy the dress if I can't even wear it on any other day. I would rather rent a designer dress for the day.
But unfortunately my parents are not up for a small wedding, they are okay with us waiting it out to get married post vaccination but after our own small wedding, they want the "real wedding" on their own terms in their own way. (I am 24, he is 28 and we are in a relationship since 2 years.)
This dropping the trousseau thing is so true. I bought hell lot of sarees, salvaar kameez, bags, shoes etc and I haven’t used more than 10% of it. It’s been 2 years and everything seems outdated or too gaudy to be worn now. I wish I had saved all the money and invested in something better.
I have been planning for intimate wedding but dropping the trosseau didn't come to my mind but now it seems like a wise decision bcz now a days no one wears only traditional clothes after wedding so that will remain unused and become outdated

Most Indians take wedding as pride. They think that bigger the wedding bigger the fame in community. All those people need to watch this for sure. Love the content sherry❤️

I never wanted a big wedding. Not even a social festival with 20 people. If I ever want a person who is ready to get married to me, I would prefer just signing a court paper. As for the honeymoon, a backpacking trip will be the best thing.

This was sooooo good. Thumbs up to you sherry. I had a small wedding and I was ok about it. But then , my friends , cousins got married a grand way and I was like did I miss out on something. And now I am not liking my trousseau, my shaadi videos , or even photos 😁😁😁 Or maybe it's just that my small wedding was not that beautiful. I could have made it much more beautiful.

Oh my god, personally, I absolutely hate the trend of "THE BIG FAT INDAN WEDDING" mainly because it has become so damn expensive.
I wouldn't like to spend hard earned money/ take a loan for a day and then repay it my entire life.
Whenever I get married, I want it to be the way you described it to be. Small yet personalized. I liked how you mentioned that it should be the couple who should pay for the wedding... I would be so proud if we're able to pay for our own wedding. ❤️

We need to and we should pay for our own wedding.. I dont know why sons and daughters in our country mostly let their parents pay for their wedding.. I mean, ur parents raised u up since you were born, got u in a good school, pay ur bills, and still on your wedding they pay lakhs and even upto crore.. Some parents even take loan or even spent all their savings for a so called wedding and some parents even pay for their kids honeymoon trips.. .. It is high time that we as youth of today should bring the change.. Kudos Sherry for bringing up this topic..
