I hadn’t been stitching for a few years and only came back to it this May (2022). I wish I had been stitching in 2020-2021 and had discovered the flosstube community back then, it would have helped so much. But I am grateful that I am here now and am enjoying it very much. I have been stitching on and off for over 60 years, but having flosstube adds a whole new feeling of community to what has in the past been a solitary pastime. Shiloh, you talk about postage costs - here in Australia I have been charged up to $50 for a small item! It also takes a fortnight or up to a month for things to arrive from the US! I try to get pdf patterns when I can. Thanks for reminding us that we are a community and are blessed to have a lovely hobby (obsession) to take our minds to a happier place 😊

Just a suggestion for your fraying fabric if you have a sewing machine do a zigzag or an overcast stitch around the edges. Your stitching is beautiful. I am also Canadian from Burlington Ontario. Stay safe.
The Like a Cherry Blossom sampler is beautiful. I have trouble with negative thoughts and the quote on the sampler is a very good reminder! I might need to stitch it too.

I live in York Region, Ontario and cross stitch and have a serger. If you’re able to make it home for Christmas I’m happy to serge as much fabric as you can bring, it’s super fast to do

You could try blanket stitching the bottom by hand. I blanket stitch the edges on most of my pieces because I don't have a serger and the stitches on my sewing machine don't work well for me. It's a little extra work but it's also mindless repetitive stitching so I do it while watchin TV or flosstube.
Well, just a couple minutes into your video I was out searching for that gorgeous Owl Forest Embroidery pattern! Just may pick that up soon. And I love the beautiful whale pattern also from OFE!
Beautiful stitching. And knitting! I can't remember which one you were worried about the bottom border on, but if you turn the edge under like a small hem and do a running stitch it should help. the running stitch can easily be pulled out when you finish stitching.

Hi Shiloh, I Love Everything You're working on! If You don't mind I have a couple of suggestions for You! For Your "Hope Sampler" either use fray stop on the edges of Your fabric or painters tape. For the Blanket that You are thinking about doing the edge without putting All of that weight on Your Needles (which I totally agree with) there's a good video by "Teo Makes" UA-cam channel called Join as You Go from today or yesterday, it's being done for a sweater button band but the concept is the same without do the YO for the buttonholes, I think it's worth checking out! Are there any specialty stitches in cherry blossoms? I love it, saw someone else stitching it. I also bought quaker welcome, it has everythingI love, welcome, alphabet, and quaker.
So what colour are you doing it in and where did you get your fabric? I am thinking 28ct lugana probably.. and don’t want to order from the states unless necessary. Niki at charting creations in Sackville has some but I cannot tell colours well.
