I saw Manowar in a small club called The Living Room, I believe in Rhode Island, back in the late 80s. When this song came on, my friend and I were two of only a few people that were singing along to it. Joey and Eric both pointed at us and Eric gave a thumbs up. That was an epic moment in a young metalhead's life. :)
Finally you get to one the best metal song ever!! Such heart and soul in one song! My heart bleeds every time I hear it since I was 14. Today I'm 50 and still in the side of the mountain! Hail to the kings!
Greetings and Love from Germany. Sorry, guys..but you are the vakkin greatest. See, i'm a Metalhead since 1985 & and a damn MaidenManowarManiac. You can imagine that music reactions are kinda nostalgic time travelling for me. These spirituel-like emotion/feeling that runs thru my heart, mind, soul and body is just magical mythic, and i cannot explain or describe it. Well, there's alot of Maiden reactions, but so less Manowar reactions. I complained bout that alot. And now i see the thumbnail of you guys, reacting to one of my favorites song by them. My excitement and happyness went thru the roof and the reacting hasn't even startet. But here is the thing...came out of nowhere and destroyed me to the bone...what thing.? Dudes, you (and the patreon) really dared to react to the best live performence of Manowar's song "Mountains". That took me back nearly 40 years. That brought back so many wonderful memories that i start to cry a river, serious. Those shivers that i've got, will stay for weeks, for real. I'm not joking, my friends. You both gave me the most wonderful evening. For bout a year my evenings are mostly filled with lonelyness, sadness... and grief bout the lost of my beloved little doggy. I shared with 'Sammy' the most wonderful 17 years of my life. A huge part of me died with him. Nearly every evening, when this pain hurts so badly again, i get on UA-cam and find me some great reaction videos, cause they ease the pain a little. Music is kinda Painkiller for me, great Metal Music is my medicine. Thank you so much, from the deep bottom of my heart. You can't imagine what that ment to me, seriously. You're such great good dudes, guy's. I luv ya & i wish i could hang out with you both for a while. Damn, i driftet apart a little bit. And please execuse me, for i probaly sound whining here. I hope you both go on with your channel aslong as i shall live. Thanks again, buddies. Have a peaceful day. Stay safe & UP THE IRONS
Love your ManOwaR reactions, guys! This band is my first love in metal. Blood Of The Kings or Ride The Dragon are great songs by them to continue with.
The modern version of Cassical music in a stripped down format! It is a masterpiece. Treat yourselves to Guyana: Cult of The Damned from the same l.p. Another masterpiece.
"Gods of War, I call thee." (Gods of War, I call thee.) "My sword is by my side." (My sword is by my side.) "I seek a life of Honor." (I seek a life of Honor.) "Free from all false pride." The Triumph of Steel was my introduction to Manowar. The whole album is great. Check out the opening track Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts. It's a 28+ minute epic story.
Check out also their live performances of Dark Avenger (2005), Heart Of Steel, Each Dawn I Die, Defender, Sign Of The Hammer or Spirit Horse Of The Cherokee.
This song is from 1984. They released 2 albums that year. This one is from the second, Sign of the Hammer. There's some filler in it, but there's 3 more classics on it like this one. Mountains is about going for your dreams.
metal kings manowar🤘 you guys had to watch "warriors of the world" official live video by them next by the way eric Adams the singer still hitting those higher notes at his 70's if I remember correctly.

Manowar do get a bad rap from some people thinking that all they talk about is being true metal/steel/battles etc. I still like all those songs too but then they come up with beautiful melodic masterpieces like this which are on a whole other level.
Joey DeMaio is one of the great songwriters in metal history, an as you can see an' hear - there is literally NOTHING that he can't play on a bass guitar.
I suggest 7 songs from ManOwaR, Choose one of them: Gates of Valhalla, Hatred, Blood of My Enemies, Heart of Steel, The Crown And The Ring (Lament of The Kings), Burning, The Demon's Whip
I've heard of Manowar my whole life but didn't realize until now I never actually listened to them. This ish was EPIC!! What are some other good ones to check out? Help me out Trash Talkers!
A ton of better Manowar tunes out there. Anything from the Battle Hymns, Fighting the World, Kings of Metal, and The Triumph of Steel overpowers this one.
Manowar could have been one of the biggest heavy metal bands of all time... but for some reason, they missed opportunities, failed to capitalize on touring and promoting... refused to play N. America for decades because of the small audiences. Ultimately, they became a parody of themselves. If Manowar had spent months playing small venues, opening for every rising band the way Sabaton did in the 2010's... it might have been a different story. Instead, now Sabaton has a huge profile and fanbase in N. America while Manowar is still regarded as an 80's relic. 'Mountains' was from Manowar's 1984 album 'Sign of the Hammer' (it was a reference to Thor, the Nordic thunder god... not the Marvel comics superhero) This Manowar line-up was a solid one from 1996 to 2008... This was also one of the last performances of the legendary Scott Columbus (drums) who was known for his powerhouse drumming (His drums had to be steel-rimmed and custom-built cos he would break a normal drum kit w/ his pounding!) Columbus joined Manowar in 1983 replacing original drummer Donnie Hamzik and recorded a majority of their albums from 'Into glory ride' in '83 to 'Gods of war' in 2007 (He quit Manowar around 1989... drummer Kenny Earl 'Rhino' played on Manowar's 1992 album 'The triumph of steel') Scott Columbus quit Manowar around 2008 and tragically, he took his own life in 2011 (R.I.P.) The guitarist in the clip was Karl Logan, who joined Manowar around 1994 and played the songs written by original Manowar guitarist Ross The Boss (who was fired in 1988... he has been playing Manowar songs live as a solo artist) Unfortunately, Karl Logan was arrested and jailed on child porn charges in 2018. Joey DeMaio (bass) who is the primary Manowar songwriter and Eric Adams (vocals - real name Lou Marullo) have kept Manowar going w/ new members but they r just not what they once were.
I don't remember to much about this band. They had the slogan Death to False Metal. Never super popular. Kind a got lost in crowd. I liked them for a couple albums then got bored and moved on.
These clowns are inexplicably huge in Europe and South America, but couldn't sell out a VFW hall in the States. I saw them in Germany years ago. The cheese factor was at an 11.
That's cause most of you Americans are into what's called wussy metal. Like bon jovi or that wussy new wave stuff And I am american born and raised and i've never got into radio friendly metal Or what's called nice guy music
