    Another tip for inside measurement is butt end of tape and pick a nominal number like ten and then butt other side of tape opposite direction and measure to ten mark.Add two numbers and you have perfect fit.Also works on long measurements when you don’t have a long enough tape 😎

    For the second tip if you use that Square that you got on the table and put it on the edge of the wood with the triangle vertically facing down you can use this to up the Width of the cut by using it as a "rail"

  • @2chipped
    @2chipped Рік тому +1

    Last subtract 1 1/2 for the saw shoe, and mark for your square to lay to.
    For internal cut a piece 1/10 etc.
    For the (internal measurement) a 10 inch tight to one side,measure the opposite way 1 5/8 and add 10 = 11 5/8.
    When using the tip of the tape to mark,pull or push the tip ...since it can add 1/32 .
    For the professional only,cut the reverse side of a finished item..it makes a splinter free cut on the good side...and doesn't scratch it either.

      @@c.a.g.1977 I never hear people use the decimeter, only m, cm, and mm. I've read that people consider the decimeter as a useless measure. So essentially you have this 100x factor between cm and m. So people's height is usually expressed in cm, typically between 150 to 250 cm. That's a lot of increments for you to deal with if you had to estimate a crime suspects height. Do you have stanard ranges for very tall, tall, average, short, or very short? In Imperial units, the foot helps us out quite a bit. Much easier to express a person's height in feet and inches than just inches. I think the metric system would have been better if it had defined the meter to about the size of a person's foot and then use decimeters instead of cm. Fahrenheit has a finer increment vs Celsius, almost twice as fine. And yes, I can tell when my wife has snuck the thermostat up one degree to 77 vs 76. Typically, Celsius thermostats don't let you adjust in half degree increments, so if you want finer control of your comfort, use Fahrenheit. A metric degree should have been based on what a typical human can perceive, not some scientists desire to put freezing at 0 and boiling at 100.

    • @c.a.g.1977
      @c.a.g.1977 Рік тому +1

      @@markstipulkoski1389 interesting stuff. never thought of all these examples.
      Being accustomed to all those things on a 1 to 100 scale makes it very intuitive to use. Like guessing someone's height, we just say: He's 1 meter 80. Or She's 1 meter 65. work perfectly. BTW: We don't say he's 180 cm.
      What bugs me most about imperial is the unnecessary confusion adding all those fractions. Even on American woodworking UA-cam channels I see people struglling with adding fraction up.
      I read this, makes sense:
      https: // en.wikipedia.org / wiki / History_of_the_metre
      O, and here in the Netherlands: yes, we are the tallest people of the world, but there are few people of 250 cm 😂

Window bucks are to leave holes for windows in the concrete walls and beam pockets let you leave places at thetops of your walls for beams, also what about holes for plumbing and electric? To escape poverty, my friends and I started saving for tools so we'd partner in making floating shelves and maybe one day cabinets. Its really hard raising funds to sustain us plus buy tools. we just need three power tools that maybe you guys have but don't use. drill + circular saw + router.
