- Beethoven's Wellington's Victory performed at the closing concert of season 45 of the NKO, live from Tel Aviv Museum of Arts, July 13th, 2016. Conducted by Chief Conductor Shalev Ad-El
I grew up with the Antal Dorati recording with the London Symphony on Mercury Records from 1961; a demo of the power of stereo, as the opposing "forces" moved onto the field of battle from opposite speakers and the engagement took place in the middle of one's living room. The record jacket also included a history of the piece, which Beethoven composed to be performed on an early automaton.
This song is best. I listened to this when I was little
Its not a song tho
I'm surprised so many people (including Deutsche Grammafon itself!) refer to this opus as "Wellington's Victory". The name comes from a battle the Duke of Wellkington one, to be sure, but it was the Battle of Vitoria, in the Basque country.
And you comes from the 19th century i think
Well, that’s the shorthand name for the piece, don’t see anything unusual
Yes it was Vitoria, the french line got cut and left Spain’s loot behind
The title IS "Wellington's Sieg oder Die Schlacht bei Vittoria" (Wellington's Victory or the Battle of Vittoria).
Years agi,I played this recording to a group of 6 year olds. They seemed to understand the story very well.
The absolute anthem for "meh, it'll do"
The female cello player in the front with her hair put up reminds me a lot of my daughter's teacher.

THIS IS A jAM
A neglected, but interesting, Beethoven curiosity.
Flute concalto

Bella,no la conocía.Una marcha triunfal-Himno;en mi opinión p.
The good stuff begins at 9:10
It's true--Beethoven did in fact write "The Bear Went Over the Mountain".
Why did you use Russian flag instead of French?🤔
1. More Russians in the orchestra. You don’t want trouble with them. Believe me. 2. When you order a French flag on eBay , it’ll most probably come from China.
Beethove at first supported Napleons goal , but turned against him when it showed just how evil he was. So no the French flag should not be shown.
From Baby Beethoven
4 Season by Vivaldi.
My favorite is 9:10
Pfui Teufel.
Der Trauermarsch wurde sehr, sehr schön interpretiert!!
Beethovens best Work?
@Мамонт worst in his harsh
standards. Not in mine.
Woah did i just disagree with beethoven 😳
Not in my estimation, but some people like it.
Doesn't matter. The French still lost :)
Very bad 10/10
9:55 w his face expressions i'm surprised that we didnt hear errors made. very distracting he's way of running the show
snob
Have you not seen other renowned conductors do that??
