Corvus is already my favorite hero in the game, the fact that he requires you constantly engaged and microing is genuinely such a nice change of pace from the usual heroes where you just put them down and forget about em (with the occasional ability usage here and there)
11:20 the only thing about the “copying” is that when a game gets really well established it can only “copy” things because there’s so much stuff in the game. If there were 10 towers each new tower would be totally unique but when there’s already hundreds of upgrades they’re going to overlap and that’s fine really. You just have to recognize that it’s a thing.
Plus, Geraldo and the tier 4 sentry engineer (plus the paragon, I guess) already copy several towers, so Corvus is nothing new in that regard. Although one thing I'd like to add is that ISAB probably didn't mean this in a bad way but was moreso stating the facts.
@@YoshiAteTooManyYoshiCookies true I didn’t even take it in a bad way I also think he was just saying his thoughts in that way. I was just saying it’s almost impossible to not copy something once a game is developed and older.
I played with Corvus earlier today and have some thoughts: - Malevolence doesn't seem good because it disables a lot of his other abilities - He is terrible against DDTs - He is way too micro heavy for my taste. I just want to set a tower down and relax. - His one punching move seems really bad because it disables most of his abilities and also attacks way too slowly with no way to disable it other than trance - Storm doesn't work on leads, for some reason - His explosion spell is really, really bad. It doesn't destroy children of blimps and isn't large enough to ever be worth using
> He is way too micro heavy for my taste. I just want to set a tower down and relax. He is meant to be micro-intensive, hell even Ninja Kiwi said so. =p The other points I mostly agreed with

malevolence is very good early game since it disables the spirit, making way more bloons enter the scythe radius so you can get a tom of mana fast AND deals with bloons wery well so you can rely on it before moabs come, making farming xp out of mana early game really easy
You should've tried the echo plus hands combo against the bad because it has good single target damage. Also a cool interaction is if you turn on the echo and then trample they will both go through the track and you can activate the explosion while in the trample form.
A QOL update for Corvus would be to be able to double click to cast or stop a spell. I died in the tutorial a couple of times because i kept on forgetting that i needed to press the button at the bottom
@@smbsmw1111 I digress with single click because you want players to be able to read the spells. Even if you say "well you can just learn the spells by heart" that's not a good way to go at it since there will always be new players. So I agree with double click
@@xelspeth I think people would be able to remember all his skills after a couple of games and he already has learning curve, so it's fine to show skill description after you activate it. I know some people aren’t a huge fan of this hero, but just going off of what I’m watching, personally I’m all for another hero that takes more skill then place and forget with the exception of occasional ability use. Corvus really looks like a micro fan’s dream as you can really squeeze a lot out of him if you learn how to properly use his spells, especially that mana shield, which would make ravine possible on chimps without using the damn sword provided he gets the spell in time. Just wish I could play with him, I’ve been playing on the Xbox version and I don’t have access to all of these fun toys *Cries*
I was just messing around with Corvus on hard and found that with camo detection and help with purples he can solo up to round 80 on easier maps, though there were some spots where I'm pretty sure tanking lives was unavoidable. Even though you should go for large chunks of bloons, it's still best to spam his level 3 ability since it'll give you a lot of mana every time and it has a fairly short cooldown.
just finished a 2tc with this spooky guy was a lot of fun tbh, made me realize you can use echo + ancestral might = 2 big slappy hands and makes it possible to destroy DDT's Resort Sub(5-2-0) - Upper right of water Corvus

1+3 is insane cleanup with mana sustain and you can add 4 for more damage for a while. hero has a lot to discover still but that carried me through chimps
The hero only challenge for Corvus is gonna be crazy. With all his spells, the possibilities are endless. But for the early game, while the bloons are weak, i focused on using his mana for extra experience to save on upgrade costs. Any mana that isn’t going to use should be channeled to his experience since he easily requires more experience than any other hero.
way to micro intensive for me i also think it needs a power boost for certain abilities such as overload being able to soak through layers, making the cooldown shorter for some abilities and increasing the power for most spells. it also DEFINETLY needs to be able to be buffed like the beast handler now is and it needs some qol especially when enabling and disabling spells
1:04 That can't be it; 5,368,709 is an odd number, so you wouldn't be able to get it through doubling. I googled the number and found an Amazon link to a specific kind of door stop.
these are some good interactions ive found echo, aggression, storm, and spear frostbound, repel, malevolence, and storm on a corner frostbound, ember, echo, repel
interesting how overload is basically just a mega mine that can be used everywhere but can't be stacked Corvus really feels more like a support hero tbh- firstly, there's the extra lives, he can decamo , knockback, and freeze, he can do lots of moab damage with ancestral might, but he honestly doesn't do enough overall damage or any fast enough to solo stuff
My thoughts on corvus: Spear is ridiculously overpowered. Especially when paired with aggression and freeze, it’s obscenely strong. Storm is a gimmick and is not worth going for once you get access to ancestral might. Spear does better multi target than storm and ancestral does better single target than storm. Malevolence is useless, trample is almost always useless unless for some reason you don’t have spear and have to deal with a ceram rush or something. Nourishment is basically adora sacrifice but better, spam it as much as possible. The mana shield thing is useable in chimps which really isn’t as broken as you’d think, but it has some use cases like tanking early leads and camos to save up further, or saving yourself against stray super creams. Use case wise it’s actually pretty similar to Gerry spikes. Echo should really only be paired with ancestral might and when combining that with overload it can actually take down the bad layer faster than ezili 20. I don’t think it’s the best hero in the game but it’s probably s tier along with towers like brickell, Gerry, and adora Edit: I can’t believe there are people who think this hero is bad bro like how bad at the game do you have to be to not see how insane this hero is 😭
He really strong with the free dart monkey. I used little Definite and farmed very hard. This guy with a tech bot was really strong vs the bloons. I only use nourishment and I got to level 20 at round 101
I don’t think that is enough of a factor to make him the best chimps hero. I’d rather just have a hero that pops bloons or helps other towers pop bloons
@@1TieDye1 It's great though because you don't have to invest money into that incredible utility. If you base your build around other towers with Corvus running support, a mana-shield in CHIMPS is insane at least for certain maps

@@ArcadiaCv I'm sure on some maps or niche situations Corvus' ability to allow minor leaking could buy you time to save for or invest in other towers that are better for mid-late game, without having to buy defense that is useless later. He's right actually, it just isn't the whole number. 2^29 is 536870912 and the achievement is for 5368709(missing the 12) xp, just obviously with the last two numbers chopped off because half a billion xp would take ages.
As someone who hates micro, I found the micro with Corvus to be very manageable and I found him more fun and useful than other heros. I think the main reason why people aren’t liking this tower is because the tutorial has Corvus solo, which is not easy to do. It’s best used alongside your regular towers like every other hero. He’s Especially fun in COOP, I did the coop challenge where I used only Corvus, while my teammate used Book Wyrm and other towers while I just used Corvus and gave all of my gold to him to use however he/she wants. Allows you to play a support role in a more indirect way than Geraldo. Whenever you have a strong enough defense where Corvus doesn’t need to do anything, just sac the mana for hero XP. It’s great even to someone like me who hates intense micro.
I don’t really like the trend of heroes getting more and more complex. I‘d like to have some more simple heroes, since I‘m too lazy to micro all the time.
My worst fears realized. A micro hero. Dear god. Look yall micro all you want. I just like to have a good base plan for my silly monke game without needing to have high APM.
cant wait to see you do a challange with it! i alr know im just gonna sit there and be completly lost trying to understand whatever your doing at that high paste
this guy is a lot more fun than i expected him to be. glad he’s strong but can’t do it all i was worried early iterations would be beyond busted and like he’s strong but he definitely requires attention and strategy to be good
They should revamp the whole hero ui. The main reason i hate to use micro is the way the ui blocks off the screen on either side. Why not make the ui of a hero permanent at the bottom instead of popping out when you click it. It is such a burden, and with this new hero, it's even worse. At least some kind of pin option so you can do other stuff as well as having whatever micro menu open without needing to have that specific target to use its spell or shop.
Corvus is a great Early game hero, but does decent chip damage for late Game... Sauda + Corvus, or even Striker Jones + Corvus would be quite the compelling duo.
I don't think it's "just" when to use the spells, but also good combos like for example the echo plus mini nuke, but als like the trample plus blade storm or on a map like resort where the bloons loop the same spot a few times in combination with the spell were the ghost gives him a damage aura
Very cool concept, but to me it’s just a bit too much. Like you said after finishing round 80, you need to use something - every - single - round. To incorporate other monkeys with their own abilities, you lose the advantage of having Corvus since his spirit isn’t very strong. You have to focus on him at all times to make him worth using. Without constantly employing his spells, he’s useless. Having to constantly jump between opening his tab, using spells, casting, dismissing, and then add to that activating any other monkey ability you have on screen is just wayyyyy too much.
One thing I wish was that after like level 10 the soul generation would speed up enough that you could keep a maximum of two spells (spear and blades for example) active at all times just from the passive generation. If you need to micro the "basic" attacks of an hero while also keeping an eye at the souls and replenish them with his abilities, it's a bit much. I still prefer Geraldo's utility over this.
the wiki is gonna be insane with this hero considering all the interactions with each of the spells. It's going to be such a satisfying hero to master -corona virus hero-
ngl he seems like the best hero for chimps with his global range spirit, a lot of abilities for multiple situation and not having the problem like geraldo where you have to spend money on his shop which allows you to get extra towers. But defenetly very difficult to master good job nk
1:02 It can't be a power of two nor a reference to doubling money, because both of those require the result to be an even number, but the number ends with a 9.
I had to play some story mode to unlock him, I didnt even know that mode was a thing. Also, I tried him, but I was too dumb to understand him properly I wanna try out if soul barrier prevents Ezilis totem cost, that could at least make Ezili work in coop chimps
The new map is expert because every few rounds a blizzard comes and freezes a tower they can't attack you can't upgrade or sell them and I'm not sure if they keep range (ie. for sub intelligence or things of that nature) or any buffs that were on them, I'm pretty sure it lasts a round but might be two also BT can still get pops even if the engineer is frozen wasn't really paying attention to the sentries though
The extra power you can get without spending a single penny is gonna be so meta for the boss runs. You can save insane amounts with the corvus, I assume
For as complicated as this hero is, he's extremely underwhelming in every aspect So much micro for so little reward, Corvus feels more like a novelty than something actually useful
IDK to me Corvus seemed pretty good used by Isab, he didn't solo but I think that's given, it's an adv map. And Isab's not even playing optimally yet...

If you get a dollar, no matter how many time you double it, you will never get a odd number xD
He's right actually, it just isn't the whole number. 2^29 is 536870912 and the achievement is for 5368709(missing the 12) xp, just obviously with the last two numbers chopped off because half a billion xp would take ages.
It works with a penny and not a dollar. I think of the single grain of rice story more than the money one that is making its rounds online again.
Its good that they implemented a hero like this for the people who want it, but, this is just not for me. I play bloons for idle I don't do micro
Even for people that like micro it’s horribly bad, they are gonna change him a lot of times before he actually becomes fun and intuitive to use
the one time i dont check steam because im used to the 1st videos on these updates being on a preview build
cant wait to see you do a challange with it! i alr know im just gonna sit there and be completly lost trying to understand whatever your doing at that high paste
It's kinda fun how it can be short range and long range but still keep its powerful might
this guy is a lot more fun than i expected him to be. glad he’s strong but can’t do it all i was worried early iterations would be beyond busted and like he’s strong but he definitely requires attention and strategy to be good
1:00 Pretty sure it is 1 cent multipled by 2 every day for 30 days
29:04 The green hands on the bad are there because of one of corvuses abilities that allows him to haunt moab class baloons.
1:08 It's 1 cent, not 1 dollar. 5368709 is 2^29/100, rounded to the nearest whole number (the actual figure is 5368709.12).
Thank you ISAB for casting the spells
Corona virus looks super cool cant wait to try him!
Corvus is a great Early game hero, but does decent chip damage for late Game...
Sauda + Corvus, or even Striker Jones + Corvus would be quite the compelling duo.
Corvus..... Corona virus..... wait a second
I don't think it's "just" when to use the spells, but also good combos like for example the echo plus mini nuke, but als like the trample plus blade storm or on a map like resort where the bloons loop the same spot a few times in combination with the spell were the ghost gives him a damage aura
Most hero’s: are experienced military powers
Corvus: it’s wizard time mofo
crazy to think that boss challenges were originally a mod. Maybe NK are took some of the mods into consideration for the game
Thank you ISAB for walking the spirits with a new hero
Very cool concept, but to me it’s just a bit too much. Like you said after finishing round 80, you need to use something - every - single - round. To incorporate other monkeys with their own abilities, you lose the advantage of having Corvus since his spirit isn’t very strong. You have to focus on him at all times to make him worth using. Without constantly employing his spells, he’s useless. Having to constantly jump between opening his tab, using spells, casting, dismissing, and then add to that activating any other monkey ability you have on screen is just wayyyyy too much.
This guy is absolutely nuts. Definitely the best hero in the game, maybe even better than launch Geraldo
Nah current Geraldo better
As a mobile player and anti micro fan, Corvus looks like watching your friends play outside at recess when you’re stuck inside in detention.
The new map is most definitely difficult, annoyingly difficult
Can't wait for all the new 2TC's available with Corvus, I'm eyeing WLP or Tech Terror
1:05 Dude, it's an odd number
Thank you isab for releasing update 40 of btd6 🎉
"This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill"
Dreadbloon on screen:
One thing I wish was that after like level 10 the soul generation would speed up enough that you could keep a maximum of two spells (spear and blades for example) active at all times just from the passive generation. If you need to micro the "basic" attacks of an hero while also keeping an eye at the souls and replenish them with his abilities, it's a bit much. I still prefer Geraldo's utility over this.
The camo would've been better if it was a toggle like spear
the wiki is gonna be insane with this hero considering all the interactions with each of the spells. It's going to be such a satisfying hero to master
-corona virus hero-
I feel like the spells are just stacking and do their own thing and the rest just attack faster or double the amount of damage
ngl he seems like the best hero for chimps with his global range spirit, a lot of abilities for multiple situation and not having the problem like geraldo where you have to spend money on his shop which allows you to get extra towers. But defenetly very difficult to master good job nk
1:02 🤨 5,368,709 Someone forgot math class
Honestly, corves spirit goofy ass movement to attack bloons is the highlight of this update
Glacial trail freezes towers so early game is very hard, plus there is little to no space for attacking towers.
1:05 That can't be right. 1 x 2 = 2, and any even number times 2 will always be an even number. 5,368,709 is an odd number. It's impossible.
he would be close friends with ezili tbh XD
if you drag Corvus's spells outside of the UI, then you can choose where the spell is cast.
1:02 It can't be a power of two nor a reference to doubling money, because both of those require the result to be an even number, but the number ends with a 9.
It is, it's just a cent doubled and rounded to the nearest dollar. The even final digit of 536870912 (2^29) falls off when divided by 100 and rounded.
@@danielamdurer1779 Thanks
Just tried him out on the new map. His synergy with glue gunner is insane
Overload without layer skip is quite underpowered
Idk why nk is set on making certain abilities not layer skip like the trex. It’s really annoying
@@aggressivefox454 Did overload not layerskip through blimps back in the day?
@@James-ym9sv I don’t remember. I don’t think it did? I’d have to watch the isab soloing chimps with corvus vid
I had to play some story mode to unlock him, I didnt even know that mode was a thing. Also, I tried him, but I was too dumb to understand him properly
I wanna try out if soul barrier prevents Ezilis totem cost, that could at least make Ezili work in coop chimps
Isab saw corvus kill a group of zomgs in a few hits with echo hands and really said "that seems ok"
He seems strangley biased for echo overload, which kinda sucks, while being biased against the echo hands, which absolutely slaps (no pun intended)
0:50
that remembers me...
when the fuck will the episode 7 of murder drones come out
Can’t wait for boss challenges and I love the boss challenge system I can finally just play bloonarias on cubism
thank you isab for casting spells
The new map is expert because every few rounds a blizzard comes and freezes a tower they can't attack you can't upgrade or sell them and I'm not sure if they keep range (ie. for sub intelligence or things of that nature) or any buffs that were on them, I'm pretty sure it lasts a round but might be two also BT can still get pops even if the engineer is frozen wasn't really paying attention to the sentries though
There is an endless amount of skins we can make with Corvus
The extra power you can get without spending a single penny is gonna be so meta for the boss runs. You can save insane amounts with the corvus, I assume
Haste does seem to make storm slightly faster
i love isab posting at midnight on a school night
was the use of 'it' for corvus at the start before the game used 'he' intentional? very cool of isab if so
Very cool Hero so far.
Can't wait for the challenges that require pixel-perfect Corvus placement, very specific spell combinations and frame-perfect casting...
The spells are divided half and half one side is super good and the other half is fanum taxing my mana.
this was a very nutty isab video
Didn't expect aphelios in btd6
Corvus is like taking more micro then Geraldo. It'll be interesting if someone do a Corvus only Chimps Challenge(which I'm not sure possible or not)
All pops seems possible but probably not 1 tower
not possible since corvus isnt affordable at the start but 2 mil pops def attainable maybe
@@aa01blue38 yeah what I mean was he doing all pops, not 1 tower chimps.
For as complicated as this hero is, he's extremely underwhelming in every aspect
So much micro for so little reward, Corvus feels more like a novelty than something actually useful
Like mage paragon coff coff
I wouldn't worry about it too much. They're good at balancing things, he's sure to get a buff relatively soon.
IDK to me Corvus seemed pretty good used by Isab, he didn't solo but I think that's given, it's an adv map. And Isab's not even playing optimally yet...
You have only seen him for 3 hours no need to overreact so quickly
*New hero doesn't solo an advanced map on hard*
The community: It's worthless trash
You people are the reason power creep is destroying this game.
I find Corvus very micro heavy and hard to use in chimps.
he **just** came out, of course you think he's hard to use
That's the point.
