Bradley, although I have not been involved in the S&T community you were actually the first channel I subscribed to back in 2015 when I was still in high school. It has been a privilege to watch you over the years, and the calming talks and charming entertainment have been second to none. Your attitude toward this situation is admirable, and you have my best wishes and prayers during this difficult time.

Hey bro, was gonna tell you when you posted the announcement of your recent life changes. But, grab that guitar and play. One thing about guitars; they're always there for you, ready to help you work through your emotions and thoughts.
It was interesting because I had just broken up with my GF of 6 years. I started teaching some lessons, and it's been great for me on a lot of different aspects of my life. I hope you're still playing guitar often and it's good to hear you're making it happen and keepin on keepin on, like a bird that flew.

Ok brothers of the briar and friends of Bradley. It’s time to step up. We all have been enjoying Bradley’s tobacco reviews for years, and frankly he is the best reviewer out there when you want accurate and in depth blend reviews. He has put in countless hours over the years to provide this content to us, and I for one want to see him continue and if anything expand his reviews including pipes, accessories and general piping information. Here’s what I propose. Contribute $10 to Bradley’s channel. If you want to give more fine, but there is power in numbers and there are thousands of you out there who subscribe and follow his content, so if everyone gave a meager $10, it would be add up to a substantial amount to help Bradley out. Better yet, join his paetreon for $5 a month. Let’s be the kind of people that I know we are in the pipe community. We do the right thing when the chips are down for one of our own. Thank you!
Bradley- I would really appreciate it if you could pin this to the top of your comments 😊

Realistically, the only way to make a pipe hobby channel into a full-time income is monthly paid subscriptions. UA-cam monetization won't cut it. This is a tiny niche market.
You've got 50,000 subscribers. If you could get 1,000 of them (just 2%) to give 5 or 10 bucks a month, offer bonus content, whatever...

  • @Randomwesternredneckguy
    @Randomwesternredneckguy 6 місяців тому

Take care, take your time and take care of the important stuff first...namely you! I love the pipe content, but if you have to put that on the back burner to make a few bucks it's understandable. You've got fans here in Eastern WA and North Idaho. A guy brought up your channel in a pipe shop I was visiting last week and all four of us were familiar with your channel.

Hey man if I were you I’d just treat Stuff and Things as your monetization channel and then just use another channel for pipe content etc that can’t be monetized.
Hopefully your pipe-loving fans will make it worth your while to keep making those videos even though they can’t be monetized.
Personally I’d love to see more guitar and music content on this channel. I watch a ton of guitar content, and it’s monetization friendly!

Glad to hear from you, Bradley. A new Stuff & Things video is a high point in my week!
Regarding Dunhill Light Flake, I thought that was the same tobacco as Dunhill Flake? Originally it was just called Flake, then when Dark Flake was released in the 70's the name got changed to Light Flake to make them more distinct from one another. Then European legislation made it so tobacco products couldn't be called "mild" or "light" anymore, and it went back to being Dunhill Flake. Not unlike how Dunhill Standard Mixture became Standard Mixture Medium when Standard Mixture Mild (later Mellow) and Standard Mixture Full were released, then went back to being just Standard Mixture when those went out of production.

I have been watching your videos sporadically since you first posted your Traveler's review many moons ago. I haven't been a consistent viewer, but whenever you pop up in the feed I've always clicked and always enjoyed your content. Since I'm not a loyal viewer, take this for whatever it is worth:
Maybe a solution for the pipe content would be a separate channel that is less polished than your monetized content. I watch a lot of the pipe stuff, but would understand if you put more work into the content that makes your income. Or you could include pipe content as a Patreon perk? Creating another channel may be too diversifying and too much work, but it might clean up the algorithm for you?
Perhaps that is bad advice. But I have always enjoyed your content despite not being as faithful of a viewer as many. Stay strong, good friend Bradley!

When ready to date again, your guitar playing skills should bod well.
Hopefully, you can make the money you need to, so you can continue pipe and tobacco videos because they are the best.
And don't forget that being a hard working man saves you from having to worry as much about fitness and mental health, so making all your money behind a computer may not be as rewarding.

Hey Bradley, I wanted to write this down before I forget. I thought that maybe that you could potentially put some stuff behind Patreon in order to free up more space on UA-cam? Since teas can't be monetized, maybe those videos can go Patreon only? Or maybe just special videos, but not all of them. This will allow more time for other topics that are doable here. Just thinking out loud, and some food for thought.

Speaking as a very inexperienced You Tuber 😁 I think you would have to split your Tea sections off from SaT as YT will keep the brakes on you somehow. Those that like the Tea would follow if you did that and probably watch your usual eclectic content. I like pretty much all you do, reminding me of classic cameras, people that actually make boots, nice paper to write on and pens, and stuff. If you tailor it a bit I think it will speed up some. It hit me pretty hard on the last video, you do a TON for the community and it really clicked when i saw you like that - one of the Toronto Pipe Club members I met with today was asking and knew i needed to check in.

I don’t recall if you mentioned this in your video or not. So I will throw it out there. Two channels. One for pipe and things and one for stuff and things. One monetized and one not. Fans can support either one or both. God bless as you go forward.

Bradley--part of my work for decades has been the delivery of career counseling services. I've sometimes recommended the "START/STOP/CONTINUE" approach to thinking things through:
    - What should you *START* doing that you've not done?
    - What should you *STOP* doing that you've been doing?
    - What should you *CONTINUE* doing that's worked for you?
We're all wising you the best and looking forward to more of you in the months and years to come.
