This is why you have to train with good and extremely experienced trainer. My 2 freedive trainers were very "surperized" with my problem in equalization at 3 meters!!!!!!! They did not endear have any clue of diving leg first!!!! They really cost me a lot of depression at that time and of course to many others
Absolutly agree!
finally a video that I'm looking for! thanks coach, this is a very great explanation. excited to try the pool training!
Thank you for the feedback! Dont expect quick improvement, just keep working and your EQ will get better! Good luck! :)
thx sergei
nice vidz as usual : simple, structured, long enough, both technics and psycho
you're definitively a good coach
Thank you for the feedback!
Appreciate the practical tips as always Sergei!
Thank you! :)
Thank you for your video! When I turn my head down, I cannot EQ. It's as if there is no air that I can push through my nostrils while using the Frenzel EQ technique. Do you have any suggestions for what I can do?
Most likely, it is a "soft palate" issue, not a Frenzel technique. In my video, I show a couple of exercises to correct it :)
Thanks for your detailed explanation but although I successfully did all the exercises I still can’t do Frenzel even just bend my torso over 90° (I’m able to do it between stand straight up(0°) to 90°. Idk what’s wrong? Am I using wrong parts? Or I don’t have enough strength? I feel I can’t move my soft palate without moving back of my tongue.. Looking forward to your reply! Thanks!!xo
It’s hard to comment as I don’t know if you do the exercises correct.
Soft palate issue sometimes requires weeks of training. And not just dry.
You can train in a pool and in the see.
When our students struggle to equalise head down, we ask them to dive head up. This creates certain “muscle memory” and helps to get used to the depth.
Dry exercises are the first step.
Weird question. How heavy is the weight at the end of the line?
Around 8-10 kg
Great video!
I cannot equalise at all while inverted but air is still reaching my nose since my nostrils flare up. Does this mean the problem isn't with the soft palate but something else?
If you feel that pressure is increasing in your nasal cavity, then yes, the problem is not with the soft palate.
There is a chance that the soft tissues are inflated around your eustashian tubes (due to the cold or allergy to something). Also can check with a doctor if everything ok with the middle ear
