Fan of Wright homes since visiting Falling Water here in Pennsylvania
Beautiful. I can see how aspects from Frank Lloyd Wright's creations have inspired architecture .
I just love his work- I always smile when I see his homes - a delight to the senses inside and out a true master of his craft
Now this is really a dream home. A Frank Lloyd Wright house. Especially of The Modernist era, with all indoor decor and furnishings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Saw the one outside of LA a few years ago.
I recently retired from a career of 40 years in construction... from working with the tools, foreman, superintendent, estimating, project management, design, value engineering and now consulting... It would be an honor and fulfill a dream, to be allowed to continue the exploration, continued restoration and conservation of this magnificent property...
I wish you could advise me with mine. Its not FLW, but it was based on the Farnsworth house.
@@sharksport01 I as well as nickdannunzio have the same background. I have owned a prairie style with usonian aspects. You will need a lot of time and money for starters. Restoration, remodel, or maintenance? I have been involved with restorations and depending on your home and your goals will determine what you need. Exteriors of the style wither quicker as FLW's designs accent nature and deteriorate much quicker because of nature. In short the exteriors are not built to last.
Beautiful house. Very informative video. Excellent narration! Thank you both Harriet and Peter. ❤
What a dream it would be to raise our family and write my books in this gorgeous piece of art.
What a magnificent home with superb narration. I hope Harriet gets her Birthday wish finding a new owner who loves the house as much as she does. Thanks
It’s a thing of beauty. Thank you
Love all the details,it's stunning
Amazing video. Thank you. If only I could afford to do it justice. One can dream though. Good luck with the sale.
What's going on with the windows? It appears that the original windows have been removed and replaced with vinyl windows. This is an egregious alteration. Were the original windows retained in storage? What other changes have been made to the house?
If I had the money I'd buy this on the spot 🥺
A wright house with a properly sloped roof to deal with rain and snow. Was the ceiling always that light?
Hopefully the new owner puts the Wright windows back in.
Yeah and who will replace that white plastic sliding door in the master bedfroom.
"It gives the ordinary peasantry a small glimpse into OUR world: it is just so neat."
I might be interested.
hope they found a fitting buyer, it needs to be on the registry if its not
does anyone know what the painting over the chimney is
There are actually people among us who would buy one of Wright's houses and have it demolished so they could build "their version" of a luxurious residence. It has happened. There is no limit to the ignorance of some people.
and how much ??
Auction begins in august, bidding starts at $450k
Zestimate is 200k with the 10% bump makes it 240k.
Something tells me that an ordinary family couldn’t afford this house…
Iowa... is kind of a big place.
In Oskaloosa
1907 A Ave E, Oskaloosa, IA 52577
It's not as big as it is empty.
“A home for an ordinary family”, also has an opening bid of $450,000 at auction.
so...that makes her 86?
Price?
Just says “all offers will be reviewed”- so, they must choose the best one!
You know the old saying: if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.
@@ellenlehrman9299 or you can afford it and are curious. I almost bought one 2 years ago but decided I didn’t want to keep it as an Airbnb so the price wasn’t justified.
Sold on 10/05/2021 for $575,000.
@@glennbaltzel5237 Thanks for this info , as I couldn't find the closing price . It's nothing special compared to many of FLW designs . The location doesn't help the price either . Heating circulation would be a right pain , as are many designs like this .
The best location for dating your new cyber supporters, a Facebook size of five thousand guests might go perfectly, who wants to date the genius Lloyd? When there is a Open House happening, a music concert, finger food exhibition and interesting people to date with, nobody could resist it, think about it Ok?
Yeah, the "ordinary" family…🤦🏻♂️
