  • Through my year of growing and foraging 100% of my food and 5+ years of visiting with dozens of gardeners and permaculturists across the state of Florida, I have created a grouping of the 30 easiest and most abundant foods to grow in Florida.
This grouping of plants is ideal for laying the foundation for a food forest or creating The Survival Garden. We’re talking about growing a lot of food, with the least work, so you can truly break free from the grocery store!

I love that the whole package is ‘real’: the demonstration site, the breeze, the cuttings, the experience. Thank you, Rob, for being such a good person and so very ‘real’!

Find some willows, and take cone 'green' branches... 'smash' them gently and add that result to a bucket of water, leave it for a day or two... this will make the water 'full' of rooting hormone ... just a thought.

It's fun that you just put a rosemary in the ground. I've raised two of them in a pot that I'm planning on planting, probably within the next year.

Hello, nice to meet you from Okinawa!
Thanks for choosing Okinawa spinach as your vegetable to grow.
If you have come across Okinawan vegetables in Hawaii, it is likely that all of you immigrants from Okinawa brought them with you. Thank you to our ancestors.
This vegetable is high in iron, which is why it is considered a medicine for anemia in Okinawa, along with mugwort, and it also contains insoluble and soluble fiber, which helps regulate the stomach.
It is also a water-loving vegetable and can be grown hydroponically, so the roots can be produced in the same way as rosemary and sweet potatoes.
In your system, it might even grow as a vegetable to grow near a drainage ditch. In the shade, though, it will be less purple.
In Okinawa, it is believed that green papaya can improve the production of breast milk if eaten by women with poor milk supply after childbirth, so it is customary to make and eat green papaya and meat soup after childbirth.
This effect is thought to be due to the high enzyme content.
It is also contraindicated after C-sections, surgeries, large wounds that are said to open up, and after surgery or injury.
Turmeric was one of the trade goods when Okinawa was part of the Ryukyu Dynasty and was traded mainly in Southeast Asia.
Its medicinal properties are believed to strengthen the liver, and the root is boiled or tinctured.
In recent years, its medicinal effects have been attracting attention, and it is even used as a health food in Japan.
Its yellow pigment has been highly valued since ancient times and is used in herb dyeing.
Okinawa was the first place in Japan to successfully cultivate and spread the sweet potato, and it has become a savior plant that has survived repeated famines.
Bananas, loofahs, pumpkins, chard, etc., many of the vegetables and fruits you are growing are native to Okinawa and are eaten by the locals on a regular basis, each with medicinal properties. The Okinawa Program].
There are also a number of ways you can use Okinawa's sustainable food and culture in your own life to further improve your qol.
We want you to learn more about the local vegetables and food culture of Okinawa that you may not know about yet.
We hope that everyone who participates in your program will become healthier by eating Okinawan vegetables and fruits. Thank you.

      Postscript.
Wormwood also purifies the blood, but also lowers blood pressure.
People with low blood pressure should not use it heavily.
      Be careful.
