出た当時に譲り受けたが、第一声が「なんて聴き易い」だったことは今も一緒だ。ライブやスピードが上がるとぐちゃぐちゃになることが値打ちみたいに思っていた人にとっては、目からうろこの衝撃。ちゃんとテクがあればちゃんとできる、はっきりと示してくれた。パンクはなにも一般人の言う音楽ジャンルのロックに限ったことでもないし、ヒップホップだろうがメタルだろうがなんでもいい。やることに事欠いてジョン・クーパー・クラークという例もある。今でいえばラップだったのかもね。
ただいまだに世界で最高のハードコアあえて言えばハードコア・パンク、はと言えばこれと言い切れる。

何十年かたってまた聴いたら、自分の生き様を思い出した。なんてくだらない、好みじゃない仕事、生き方をしてきたんだって。ふと、思い出したやうに聴いたGAUZEのおかげ。最近クソな仕事をやめ、もっと自由に生きてる。昔はコア＝暴力的でカッコイイと思っていたが、実は優しい。ヒロトが言ってたのは、この事か？！どーでもいいか、ありがとう。

GAUZE are OGs. They have no reason to be copycats, they are fucking legends. GISM are as well, but saying Gauze copied GISM is like saying all Asians look alike
@@zayhertz-deeprest878The main vocal in "Distort Japan" is obviously inspired by "Nih Nightmare" by GISM, but I would not call it copycat at all ... the two songs sound so different overall.
Just one great band paying tribute to another and putting a new twist on a classic vocal delivery.
that is definitely some gism in your ears.
perhaps it'd be more accurate to say you hear a very good representation of the Japanese hardcore sound. these guys were one of the seminal influences, much like GISM. and yet, they were very distinct as well. cheers, folks :)
I’m not sure how the two bands felt about each other, but I’ve heard from several old heads in Tokyo that the two bands had a bit of a rivalry. They were definitely contemporaries and played within the same scene. It’s the same way that people say that Systematic Death sound like Gauze. Maybe, but they came out of the same scene.

It was about a zine in Japan called D.O.L.L. Outside of that, I don't remember that well. There used to be a translated version of the lyrics on a site called KillFromTheHeart, but the code's broken now. Wayback Machine couldn't get me there either.
