2 bar is a lot in general, most 1.8T's run 1.5 bar. But I want to see around 2.4 bar on it. Just before the head starts lifting. lol. That hooter messed me up. 😂
@@imaadcajee That's so true. A project is never finished and especially this one. I've got a lot of changes coming. But it's going to be fun. That Mk2 just happened to be on the road. I was pleased to see it. It's not often that you see two boosted Mk2's on the road at the same time.
Thanks for the long wait buddy I really like what you achieved with mk2 at this point, and also the channel ..keep them vlogs coming..oja what happend to two episodes a week
Thanks a lot 🙏🏽 Two uploads a week was actually hurting the channel. My views started going down a lot. I'm still trying to recover from it so I just decided to stop it. The extra content just wasn't being watched like I would have liked.
@@lowdl you broke into the 12sec, so dipping down to low 12s will be interesting, i must contact my friend andrew, see if the wiring guru can help me with my flex fuel sensor..... but 25liter ethanol is about 1500rands in namibia, very expensive.... could you do a experiment video at the drags? two runs without the water meth, but logging intake temp, two runs with the watermeth, logging the intake temp. see what they do, side by side comparison of the dragy times, i will watch that video.. 3 times.....promise
@@road_2_pow_r I'll need to put the wmi on a switch. Which wasn't the plan. But I'll chat to Andrew and see what we can do. It's difficult to compare times because there's a lot of other variables but the temps will be interesting to see back to back.
So some comments Are you sure its a good idea to be using your FPR's rising rate vacuum reference as a source for the boost control which is being bled/ manipulated for boost control? Secondly, when it comes to WMI and nozzle placement, furtherer is always best as it the mist will have more time to absorb the heat and also it is less suppression of combustion expansion within the chambers. And when it comes to mounting the 10.5L Cool Boost tanks, its one of two things, cut out a piece of hardboard/ plywood/MDF (not chip board) to match your boot mat, cover it with sound carpeting and mount the tank to that or if you are comfortable with drilling into your chassis, use rivnuts into the body. I would also recommend a SPMU and connect it to the ECU for boost limp if the WMI does not operate. And as a closing statement, if you get the WMI setup right, you wont look back at using expensive ethanol blends.
1.) We know it's not ideal to be using the RRFPR reference but it's just what we had at the time and it works, we've had no issues thus far and we've checked many many logs. It will be changed eventually but right now it does the job. 2). That's the only placement spot we have at the moment, eventually this intercooler will disappear and then we will change the setup to match. Will probably move to a two nozzle setup like most of the other cars at the workshop. One post IC and one pre TB. 3.) It's being mounted with Rivnuts, we love Rivnuts, they are the bread and butter of the "Mounting things into the body" world. 4.) We're using the ECU's failsafes to sort that out, we have lean protection, IAT protection, Knock control etc. Thanks for the tips regardless, constructive feedback is always good feedback.
What Andrew said. But thanks for your input, it's appreciate it. I'm not too clued up on wmi and the setup thereof. About the boost / vac lines: My tuner didn't want to tune the car initially because of the way we're handling boost but it works so we're slow to fix it. But it should probably be done sooner rather than later.
How do you flip your car on that part of the m5 🤦 its then all straight 😂 cape town really got some kak drivers honestly. Its prob one of those who cant wait, thats in and out of the lanes the entire time. Super keen to see the GTI run with the VVT and water/meth
Congrats on 8k bud, moving on up👏👍

He was trying. 😅 It's boosted. But I had him in the power department. I was probably 60kw up on him.
your channel is proof that a build can never be finished. progress is always good to see. was that red mk2 at 5:20 just part of traffic?
It was part of the "Going faster than usual" traffic
