4:35 if you do the calculations the 33T is only 5T bigger than the 28T so that's only what, 20% bigger so wouldn't that only equate into 20% faster? So 20% of 45 mph is 9 mph so fastest should be 54 mph not 70.....(unless my math is wrong)

For the price they expect us to pay in the UK Traxxas (tm & don't you forget it) should not only throw in the 33 tooth pinion, but half a dozen 3s lipos too.!
Forgive the crudity, but Traxxas should throw in a wristy as well for what they charge (I have several Traxxas cars).

Traxxas did at one time include that speed gear and spur with the vxl but yeah they cheap out now. That's a fun rc at top speed, definitely need a wheelie bar. Glad you got one. Love them. ❤️
I love this sounds like the wrong company(one that prefers to be nameless )overstepped it’s boundaries with a man that don’t give a damn! Been watching for years but this makes me subscribe.
I usually take what they say on the box with a little skepticism....When it doesn't do the speed it says on the box I interpret it as it CAN go that speed if you hop it up with the parts sold separately....I think they should reword the saying to (example 30mph out of the box....up to 70 MPH with hop up parts sold separately)...Makes it more honest....but that may take up too much room to print...who knows...If I see a car buggy or truck I like then I buy it and modify to make it so I'll LOVE it lol...Love the vid thanks for showing the Bandit...Nice buggy.
For the price they charge looks like they would include the so called 70mph gears also and a couple express lol

Say what you will about Traxxas, they make some good shit, electronics not withstanding.
I really wish they would offer their models as ARTR like we used to have back in the day. At this point I buy a Traxxas or Axial and rip the electronics out without even hooking them up.

@TransCube It's not about enforcing copyright on the word/name. It's about proving that the product would take away sales etc from TT due to confusion and what not.

Traxxas is a brand that caters mostly to the people who are new to RC. People who want something fast, put a lipo in it and go full throttle up and down the street till they hit something and break the car and call it quits. You RC veterans know what i'm talking about.

Does arrma provide high speed pinion? He used 28t instead of 33. If you calculate gear ratio, that would put it just slightly over 70mph

33T on the way… so we’ll be able to test it. Arrma usually under estimate. My Infraction does 92! Says 80 on the box 😅

You know, the fact that you cover a significant amount of Traxxas products on your channel and yet _still_ got blocked by Traxxas kinda shows that Traxxas doesn't just want the coverage, they want bootlicking. You're too honest for them.
I think what Traxxas means it's 45 mph and 70 mph wheel speed while the car is sitting on its box. 😂
Traxxas irritates the heck out of me. With that being said, they do make really good stuff. The batteries are overpriced, and some of the other things are not priced quite as I think they should be either, but it balances out a bit in the long run. Parts support is insanely good, and they do (for the most part) back up their products.
HOWEVER. Traxxas as a company isn't the problem, it's their bloodthirsty lawyers. This entire hobby is about people wanting to have fun. Traxxas is a double edged sword, they provide the tools to have said fun, but also police said fun far too much. I love my Slash 4x4, and my X-Maxx, but I also own Losi, Tamiya, HPI and various other brands. Traxxas while being the one I reach for the most for fun, is also my most hated company. It's a catch 22 because you hate them, but they provide a service that is hard to match elsewhere. The struggle is real.
Good vid once again. I considered getting one of these back around 06/7 when I was getting back into the hobby. From what I know of them, they are pretty good build quality, tough and you can get decent speed from them, like you just did. If a beginner had the money and asked me about these I'd say yeah they are a good bashing buggy. I still consider getting one for sh*ts and giggles.
They have good parts support, selling you the same weak parts but still it's there, yeah eventually that either turns into several 100$ too fix so it breaks less often or a brand new rc from another brand.
Their business practices are a bit predatory & their treatment of people sometimes is pretty garbage compared too other companies that's a unique factor into this too.
Like forcing some channels too not mention Traxxas while reviewing a rc copying some design elements, Rc saylors had this problem as well, can't say it looks like one or they take offense too that & strike your channel.
As far as i know, no other brand done it too this extent.
Another thing is if a hobby store sells Traxxas as their main products on display and not other brands as much they get better prices.
While hobby shops that sells multiple brands & doesn't really push Traxxas at whoever walks through the door is forced too buy their products at higher prices then other retailers leading too them either end up not carrying Traxxas at all or pretty much 40 - 50% of the store is covered in Traxxas products.
And ofc Traxxas does have some intentional design flaws in their products too force some upgrades, all brands does have some but Traxxas takes it a step further usually.
The Traxxas Maxx that is 4s capable out of the box, has plastic driveshafts.
People break the plastic driveshafts running 2s lipo power on even the 2wd vehicles in their lineup, specially the brushless ones, the plastic shock caps that pop off eventually across multiple models.
I've seen Nikko branded rc cars from the late 80's into the 90's with steel in the drivetrain, my 40$ wltoys k989 has metal driveshafts, only issues I've had with that rc is the diffs being very rough which needed a teardown & adding in grease & shaving a piece of plastic so it spins freely, only parts broken down has been driver error which was slamming at almost full speed into a corner sticking out in the basement of the apartment complex here, doing stuff like that that i can expect too break stuff.
Companies realized it was good with metal already in the infamy of the hobby almost 50 years ago.
Why go backwards or out of your way too design such a flawed product if it's not for forcing people too buy upgrades that shouldn't be needed in the first place, specially if it's an rc aimed at a beginner like i would say the brushed models of their 2wd products are.
Ofc all rtr rc's has weakspots that's not exclusive too any brand really.
Wltoys,Kyosho,Hpi,Losi, Carisma, DHK, HSP, Iwaver, Cen racing, Tamiya, Axial, FTX,Team corally, Team associated etc... doesn't matter...
All of them has a flaw in one way or another.
And Arrma vs Traxxas fanboys is usually the most common too see outside of a race track fighting about things at least they are the loudest of the two.
On a track it's more likely too be like Team associated, Losi, Kyosho, maybe some Schumacher in there too.
traxxas is a brand i'd never buy off a shelf (only 2nd hand garage sale give away prices), horrible ESCs with no LVC adjustment or tuning what so ever (motors are good), to much plastic in their builds and for the same $$ you can buy a much better vehicle from another brand

Considering my stock electronic bandit went 85 mph with just gearing they are awesome.

I bought a WLToys 144001 based in part on your reviews. Here is the issue - almost every bolt strips when trying to service the thing. And I don't mean that figuratively, I mean that literally. I have NEVER, EVER had that sort of experience and frustration with a vehicle from Traxxas. I use my Traxxas cars - the WLToys thing is currently in a bin because I am afraid if I try working on it further, I may stomp the thing flat.

I had the same exact experience. Decided I wanted to go to a better platform; sold my 124019 on Ebay and got a 3s Rustler. Night and Day. Night and Day! I know people will defend the WLToys toys all day long but they are junk compared to even a cheap Traxxas.
Yes, they can be a pain… you have heat up some of the screws to soften the loctite. Half the price of the cheapest Traxxas, so you gotta take that in to account

I don't have enough time in my life to be frustrated because some bean counter decided to save 1 penny by going with screws that have no business in RC cars. And then to watch an industry of influencers push this garbage just means we are making it more and more difficult to get decent products at a decent price for the masses, instead of cheap prices for garbage for the masses. You should keep that in mind. I enjoy your content otherwise... :)
@@lburgguy I bought a 1/14th Reflex 14b and the 144001 at the same time. The Reflex, even though it is basically ALL plastic is a much, much, much more refined RC car. It is the one I am using.

I have very recently tested a cheapie that ALMOST did the speed stated on the front of the box!!! 😲 #inearlydied. Have Traxxas really blocked you?? 👍

That’s some of the worst pavement I have ever seen. Like driving on 3/4 inch gravel. No wonder it didn’t go the advertised speed. Makes a big difference get off that junk road

Regarding the bandit being a "good value for its money"... Serpent SRX-2 Spyder RTR. For $70 more than the brushed Bandit (or around $60 less than the VXL) you get a fully race-ready modified-class 2WD buggy with a 9.5T brushless system. Or, well, you do when it's in stock, anyway, they tend to run out frequently. The brushed bandit isn't a terrible value but when you have stuff like the SRX-2 or even the Associated RB10 on the market, both of which are more modern buggies with better equipment than the brushed Bandit for not that much more, it's kinda hard for the Bandit to keep up.
The Bandit will never do 70+ even with a 3s lipo and 33 tooth pinoin. Someone tried it with a stock Bandit and was able to hit 69 mph. I think the guy used a 35 tooth pinoin to get over 70 but needed to modify the gearbox to make the pinoin fit.
Mine is been clocked at 70mph with the same 28 tooth pinion gear. I got in my truck and I drove it in the street and I clocked it at 69mph but on my speedometer gage said 70mph I got it on my channel you’ll see
Brand new 2022. With the new magnum 272R transmission. And new chassis as well. But no lunch control on the trans switch. You need another control with a trans switch to lunch it. Just like on a drag slash.

My sons hit 60.2 mph bone stock other than a different set of rear tires. I have no doubt it would hit 70 mph on a 31 tooth pinion gear.
I drove my old one, it comes with a 28tooth pinion gear. I clocked it on my truck while driving control it at the same time at 70mph.

Nice to see someone how is honest and calls out corporate bs and false misleading advertising I started to jump on that despise Traxxas bandwagon recently. I have an XO-1 which has been the most dangerous unstable car that i have ever owned compared to an Arrma Felony with similar electronics in both cars.
RC land rocket flies by and he's like, "yeah only did 60mph"...thats still insane for a fairly entry level RTR.
To be honest when do you ever use 60 mph when bashing anyway

When launching your Traxxas Bandit, out of the back of a C-130 ... upon terminal velocity your vehicle will reach 70 plus miles per hour.
Well, at least you didn't start this video by pulling up with it loaded on the back of a 6x6. So you've got that going for you.

I have a brushed MSC Rustler I got in 2000 and it still works great. Just installed a 2s brushless lipo system and modern electronics in it, still bashes strong.

I'm sorry but my Wltoys 124018 that is 180$ ( 80$ for the car and 100$ for the brushless upgrade ) does 50mph on 2S(the shitty stock 2200mah 25C that overheats from the brushless system) and 70+ on 3S . Traxxas are overprices as hell .

It was too small for the standard tray, so I guess it ejected it’s self as there was lots of movement in there
I get a rash every time I see a Traxxas and at the same time I laugh as Traxxas tries to highlight their electronics, which tend to be pretty messy with buzzwords like "VXL" "Velinon" when the ESC doesn't even mount a fan when supposed to work up to 3s... But Traxxas fans love to fill their mouths (and heads) with the word in question, you know, Velineon puwah, baby! Traxxas proprietary connectors, chargers and batteries are "the best in the world" also known as "the first thing the user changes and throws away". For the price of that Bandit, you can get, say, a Kyosho Inferno Neo 3.0 VE, which just makes the Bandit look like a toy, just to mention one of the infinitely better options you could get for the money. . But anyway... Traxxas is Traxxas and no one lies and cheats like Traxxas.

Ive been trying 160kmh for 3 years now with my bandit. 4082 motor 6s esc but on 4s max. All aluminum. I could have gotten it by now i think just gearing was tough on this. Turns out revo 3.3 spur works and you can get a 30t ive ran mine 1:1 on 3s and its a rocket. Just the rear end slides out even on d boot hoons. But i knew it would be a challenge. Thats why i picked this platform.
I just got me another one 3 months ago I got the black and orange and white with a baby blue stripe on it
