Well, mine always ran if there was enough fuel in the tank. Never got why others may have such trouble. 😏 Havent fired him up in 12 years and am looking at the bad boy in the garage every time I come in. I bet if the fuel I have left was still good, he'd come alive after no more than 5 pulls! 😅
@@Ganiscol "Never got why others may have such trouble." IMHO, that's because not many people (TRULY) understand how the engines works, AND how to tune and take care of them. Not everyone is mechanically inclined. I own mostly nitro stuff too, and never have much trouble either... Most of the trouble I've had is with my nasty old bag of a neighbor complaining about "the noise"! hehe
A lot of people don’t have the time or ability to understand engines. I love the drama and theatre of an engine making a racket and belching out smoke. Yes, it’s not as simple a charge-n-go, nor are they as fast. But I enjoy potching and tuning and arsing about with all things engineering. But I get some people just want to get on out and use the car and not mess about.
Only issue I've got with Nitro is the price of the fuel which is why I'd take Large scale petrol over both electric and Nitro. However there is something deeply satisfying with a well running Nitro.
Modern brushless rc has definitely made rc more fun for more people and it does have its advantages. One being cleaner. But i could never get rid of my nitro and 2 stroke cars.
i have never owned a nitro before but thinking about getting a tmaxx 3.3 kit to try one out.. the main thing that has put me off is the noise making it harder to run in certain places
I have the Kyosho FOXX which is the same Nitro basically as that one. I love it. I also use electric cars and trucks but there is something about the nitro that makes me happy.
Nothing wrong with Nitros. Back in the days dragging Boat , equipt box / stand ,fuel , plugs and a full sized car battery 100 yrds to Lakes shore was a royal pita.
They are both nice BUT for this model I think nitro is better for it and makes it break less than the instant power of the brushless it's just to much for it especially on 4s!
The car is awesome and belongs to every monster truck collection. car needs 100% a center differential, because this makes it much easier to drive at every level. The centerdiff must be connected at the bottom to the original spur gear. The easiest way to do this is with a Cen Reeper Differrential. On both sides only the lid of the DIff, instead of the main gear, and then connect it with the original spur gear, but even if you glue it, with a strong glue.
The new toyan v8 is more to my alley, less noise and looks incredibly scale, I once played with my buddies with one of these nitro cars and got the forest rangers coming to ask where we're hiding the chainsaws
That was a fun vid. You and Kev are fun to watch together, constant ribbing. It's a bit like two brothers in the back of the family car on a really long road trip. Also, I do have to give nitro a go one day.
I've been into hobby grade rc for the last 20 something years, and I love both nitro, and electric. I love the noise, and the smell of nitro, but at the same time you can't beet the sheer speed and power of modern day brushless setups. I still have my original Thunder Tiger MTA4 1/8 scale nitro monster truck that I used to race (need to restore it), plus one I'm modifying with a .54 4stroke nitro aircraft engine, a supercharger, and 8 inch tall tyres through to 1/18 scale crawlers, a 1/14 scale Hyper Go onroad, 1/8 and 1/10 scale drag cars, a couple of boats, and numerous other cars from 1/18 to 1/5 scale that I no longer have. My favourite is still my original 1/8 nitro monster truck, and the matching one that my late friend used to race against me with me. I have to say that the best thing about rc whether you're a nitro, or electric fan, are the amazing people you meet because of the hobby. Keep up the great videos Phil, cause they're a staple of my UA-cam viewing. 🤘
Just gone back and rewatched the Tomley Rc v Kevin Talbot video on your second channel, Good to see you guys are both getting along and sharing content (but no holding hands yet😂) along with the recent crossover videos with the wider RC UA-camr community, its a win win for you content makers and us watching👍
Awesome fun, Phil! Great bashing there! 😃 You just can't find nitro here where I live (and I've seen some bargains around!)... So, electric it is for me! And I'm installing solar power here, so... Even better. 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Electric for the win. Plug and play. Nitros are to much work and maintenance. I would have loved to have seen the WR8 Flux vs. WR8 nitro. Fun video tho.
Nice to see you two causing trouble again. 😆👍 And when is a company going to make a hybrid rc car? I know that people have made their own but it would be great to buy one. 🤔
I've got to be you guys biggest fan here in the states!! You guys are living my Dream!!!😢 Please keep at it, you give me a reason to get in this wheelchair every day guys
This is sooo long overdue, about time the 2 of you did a video together. Have to agree with Kevin, the smell, noise etc of nitro is the bomb....until they start playing up 😂
Nitro has always been where it's at for me, the noise, smoke, and actually the seemingly endless wrenching, tweaking, and modification is 99% of the enjoyment for me, and the same kind of enjoyments just aren't there in the same way with electric cars to me. Electric is still fun to drive of course but I'll always be nitro for my cars. My FPV wings and quads are of course electric but those are a whole separate obsession in the RC world
I own three nitro RC cars and two electric. They both are very fun but nothing beats nitro. It’s so much more fun and you have to like working on them number one and you have to want to learn and once you do, you’ll enjoy it immensely.
I have both. Yes electric provides more power and torque, is more convent and reliable but my nitro cars are still fun. The smell and sound brings a whole different experience and has the "cool" factor
I absolutely love my nitro and gas rc's. Lipo can be faster, and a little better in the extreme cold I get here. At the end of the day I enjoy the complexity of nitro and gas.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love the content of you and Kev hanging out. I’m from the days of you guys beefin and this is much much better. It makes the shit talk between you two just that much better
I have a Mini quad bike i converted to RC, stripped it of all non essential parts, cut the frame and re welded it to be a lower profile to fit inside a electric kids ride on truck body but the 50cc petrol engine was grossly over powered without the weight of a person on it. With the solid rear axle it was a nightmare to prevent the back end snaking in the constant wheelspin it wanted to do even with a Heli Gyro on the steering and putting it sideways at 40mph on grass was nail biting as it would dig in and roll multiple times getting significant air on each rotation when it bounced on a wheel and weighing 25kg is not something you want out of control around people! It also seriously annoyed my neighbors from how insanely loud it was and i hated the stink of petrol that got on my clothes as well. Ended up putting a E scooter motor on it, not even half as fast as it was (I put a small sprocket on the rear axle deliberately to limit top end) but its now controllable, has reverse, has a flight controller on it with gps and all the other bells an whistles that come from running a flight controller and is smell free and near silent!
Maaan, I enjoyed watching this video SO MUCH!!!! please make more vids with Kevy, it is SO COOL when two of my MOST FAVOURITE UA-camrs are in one video❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ P.S. as a person, who has watched all the 1,6k Kev's vids i can say that it is a bit unusual to see you on locations, where Kev's filming😅
Fun day that was thanks for coming over! I love both but a well running nitro is the best thing ever, a bad running one is the worst!!
Too bad here where I live you just can't get nitro... You'd need to drive around 80km to get some. 😕
And I've seen some bargains around here...
I have to agree with Kevin. I love my electric cars but nothin will ever come close to my hpi nitro Mt2.
My long lost British Uncle Kevin, When are you going to come visit us and fish for Aligator gar in Texas? lol.
Yes Kevin, nitro gas with engine in the car ALWAYS!!!💨💨
Kevin, are you sure that your USA1 isn't just using 2nd and 3rd? So for We've all assumed that it's using 1st and 2nd. 🤔
Theres something about a little internal combustion engine doing its thing that i really enjoy.
absolutely! they're cute🥰and badass😎at the same time!
hey so glad to see you at Kevin's workshop! You both are legends and have become a part of our lives! Love & Respect from India, Mumbai
Thanks dude. Appreciate it
Oh dear, a Nitro that runs is the most glorious thing ever. When it runs, lol.
Well, mine always ran if there was enough fuel in the tank. Never got why others may have such trouble. 😏

Love seeing you guys making videos together. I remember the days of the weird beef between you two
Yeah, crazy to think. We get on really well now 😅
Sometimes the people that we once dated become good friends after the weirdness goes away. Case in point!
I think that was all over rost pork 😂
BRING BACK THE BEEF
😭😂😭😂😂😭😂😭
I have the Kyosho FOXX which is the same Nitro basically as that one. I love it. I also use electric cars and trucks but there is something about the nitro that makes me happy.
Nice to see you and Kevin Talbot out together. Must say you can not beat the sound of nitro if you can get it going 👍
Yeah, although a nice Petrol/Gas engine can sound even better
@TomleyRC l must say l do like the old twin 40s with bells on and a 4 to 1 exhaust over a turbo any day. I totally agree, Tom.👍
I love it when you guys make videos together almost like 2 great creators makes 2 times better videos. Great job 👍
Thanks Ben. It was a good day
Loved this video 🤗, good to see ya both in the same one🎉

love to watch nitro rc car run. the speed is amazing

I think both are good. I think nitro comes with more tinkering. Electric allows you to play anywhere and any time no noise
Yes, I agree
Damn you 2 definitely need to make more videos together. Enjoyed seeing this banger mate! Keep ‘em coming! Cheers
Was good day for sure!
Yes please ,maybe one day u will racing real monster trucks ❤ just saying like 🤣
Glad to see you guys making videos together
It's different when you play together with other people instead play alone. Very nice and fun video.
You and Kev have a really awesome dynamic. It's natural, which makes it even better. You seem so different, yet the same. It's great.

Just missing the third presenter, followed by someone in a white coat passing the trio an envelope with this week's challenge.
I do like electronics, but who does like MORE than nitro are just a girls. Remember In the car, we need massive loud engine soundddd!!!! Braaaaa💨💨
I’m with Kev nothing like a great nitro
Electric is good but it’s very sterile 😂 I like the noise and the smell
Yes, I agree the sound can make it enjoyable…. but not for too long lol
not for long.. that makes no sense, all you do is add fuel, you have to wait until your battery is charged @@TomleyRC

Hello from Greece 🇬🇷
Hi Greece 🤘
i am not a fan of nitro only because i don't like the process to start them up. but to be honest you can't beat the 2 stroke sound :D
It is Wonderfull to see you two collaborate.
Thx for the very enjoyable video.
Please don’t make this the last
