No wonder some folk just play & sing JS BACH again & again.🙏
Herr Bach lächelt erfreut über diesen Auftritt.
What a wonderful rendition - well done everybody 👏
My family and me come from the region where Bach was born & wrote his music. He even got to jail. I started as a boy of 8 years to sing in the chorus of Herrenhausen, Hanover. Then I played the trumpet & the church organ. Almost anybody played an instrument in my greater family. My father was from Jena, he played the clarinet, our mother from Eisenach, sometimes she was singing by herself. I grew up with the music of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Mozart, Vivaldi & Tshaikovsky. I became a poet & an author. But sometimes after my public readings like in Nürnberg, I play Bach on the piano. The well tempered one...:-) It is a special kind of inner happiness.
Hallo. Manches , was Sie schreiben, erinnert mich an früher.
Family & I
Bach is the legend of all time and this choir itself proves that it is true. Excellent job.
Excellent! So beautiful music & inspired nterpretation from the orchestra, choir and soloists. The subtitles in Engilish are a rare and welcome plus. Thank you for sharing and please publish more Bach Cantatas!
Thank you very much. We will indeed continue publishing more cantatas. All of them eventually!
Jesus bleibet meine Freude,
meines Herzens Trost und Saft,
Jesus wehret allem Leide,
er ist meines Lebens Kraft,
meiner Augen Lust und Sonne,
meiner Seele Schatz und Wonne;
Wirklich wunderbar!!!!
Sou fã das obras do mestre Bach. As cantatas são fantásticas. Já ouvi todas. Difícil dizer qual é melhor. Gosto principalmente dos trompetes . Esta tem. Assim como o Oratório de Natal. Esta é uma cantata de celebração. Assim como Oratório de Natal. Por isso o uso dos trompetes.
How fortunate we are that Bach committed so much music to paper.
Beautiful, that is beautiful! Bach will never die! Thanks God to give us his music
In the middle of Covid-19 what an uplift this is.
Thank you, God, for music, these performers and, especially, for J.S. Bach.
Oh,yes,Steve!!!!
let's LIVE anyway !!
Good News: I believe Jesus will expose a lot of corruption behind covid, and it will eventually be no problem. Jesus loves you so much, He died and rose up again, He can change you, heaven wants to come inside of you
@@leonpiorek6269 Certainly it was (and continues to be) corruption. I wouldn't wait on a deity to expose anything -- the relative harmlessness of the virus, the suppression of effective treatment for those who are vulnerable, and the harmful effects of lockdowns, facemasks, and depriving children of their right to an education have all been readily apparent from the beginning. People will have to call for these criminals to be prosecuted.
I hear Bach since 55 years before covid, sorry.
Grazie ,bellissima cantata eseguita magistralmente .
As if Morticia Addams had pursued a career in choral music.
Hearing the famous "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" in context as it would have been heard in Bach's day is truly something special.
Grandiose Aufnahme.
Bach gerne vielen Dank ❤
I love that conductor
so do we
Congratulations on doing the proper original articulation in the last chorale. This makes such a big difference, offering more layers and texture.
Thank you so much.
This Wonderful performance will quench and moisturize the parched soul of hectic modern people
Truly one of the bests, Jesu bleibet meine Freunde! Thank YHWH, from 🇨🇳!
you are very welcome :)
Thank you very much for sharing this great performance. I live in small island of Japan, so there is no chance to listen wonderful perfomance like this. This performance made me want to listen to J.S. Bach deeper.
Lovers of Bach are a family! No matter where you live, you are part of a community and must never forget to enjoy a Bachstiftung performance at least once a week!
Hana Blažiková's excellent , strong voice really blew me away! The musicianship, timbre and technical skill are a marvel.
This choir is extremely impressive. Their intonation creates an incredible, balanced sound.
Einzigartig!
mini Besatzung?
@@lakkfatt2321 freilich: Besetzung!
Unglaublich klar und deutlich gesungen von "Wolf". Da versteht man jedes Wort. Wunderschön.
Stimmt!
Hana Blazikova has the voice of an angel. Bach must have written the music of the angels.
Love Hana; she's so talented
...but only the better I can say it is she looks like Morticia Addams.....
@@mariorossetto9464 Put Hana in black, watch my eyes roll back. 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you, Johann Sebastian Bach.
I love watching the Cellist during the continuo sections, how she prepares for the next note while playing the current one.
Maravilloso!
In the middle of Covid-19 this is liberation
Magnificent!
Wunderbar bewegt, lebhaft, tänzerisch. Eine der schönsten Aufnahmen.
This is a truly beautiful performance - congratulations to all the wonderful musicians, and, of course, the brilliant Rudolf Lutz.
violinist is so musical in the setting of marvellous performers
Humanity has been blessed indeed by the genius and heart of Bach. Thanks so much for publishing these wonderful performances. Thanks so much to the musicians involved. I fell in love with the music of Bach in the 1980's, and I still relish in such beauty.
David Swan I learned this piece at San Jose State (California) in 1973. I love the title too.

28:03- i could listen to this all day
Divine!
especially as it is performed in a decent speed, mostly I hear quite slow versions and find myself trying to speed things up a little to hear it "properly"
Unsurpassed beauty. Incredible performance. Stunning brilliance by maestro Lutz and his world class musicians. Thank you so much.
Wundervoll vorgetragen von allen Beteiligten. Danke für dies Video. Zu Herz gehende Melodien .
Ausgezeichnet!
One of the most ingenious minds of all time - J.S. Bach. Great performance!
Perfektes Tempo, Bravo.
It's great to hear Bach performed with the accompaniment not drowning out the vocal part. I've been listening to this while reading the Gospel of Mark in Greek. Truly spiritual.
Bach is the best ,strong and power voices in perfect harmony
What I love about Bach is the incredible writing of the bass lines and lines of harmony.
I've been listening to recordings of Bach cantatas for decades, and they (some of them anyway) just keep getting better and better. This is simply marvelous, especially for a live performance.
16:34 Too good to be true! It made me cry and I don't cry easily.
There is something almost divine in this music.
Me too, THANK You, I feel exactly like You 😇
Dios te bendiga
I tried so hard to find this piece and now I feel so happy
So true... This music is coming from another dimension.
¡Saludos, compatriota!
FANTASTIC MUSIC AND MUSITIONS..... I CAN LISSEN FOREVER....THANKS A LOT..
Ridiculously good quality... I struggle to find anything as good. Thanks to these I learn to understand Bach’s Cantatas!
These are good - but so is the Nederlandse Bach-Vereeniging's "All of Bach" Series.
Jazeker!
Yeah, preist den HERRN! Hallelujah
Excellent!
The joy of music The joy of Bach The worship of God
I don't believe in God but I fully believe in Bach!
Bach + Trumpets = Heavenly
Those baroque "natural trumpets" look so difficult to play! Kudos to the performers
He had very good brass players in Leipzig. Not so much for singers, though!
Great everything, just a special thank you to Hana, never acting as a star, while being a true star of ancient music, always perfect and moving
Exquisite performance...glorious sounds from choir , soloists and orchestra...music from heaven...thankyou ,thankyou so much...Elaine. Cardiff.
BRAVISSIMI!!!
This alto! So natural and warmhearted! The expression of faith and candour. Ecce mulier.
Yes, she's very good.
Que trabalho lindo
Love you and forgive me my sins!!
It is just incredible. The music leaves an indelible imprint not only on my brain but in my soul.
Perfekte Darbietung.
Bellissimo🌷
I am hesitant to comment because I don't have anything significant to add to the already great comments of this definitive video. These must be dream jobs for musicians, sound engineers, and others involved. Thank you so much for this! As I'm writing this, the chorus "Wohl mir, daß ich Jesum habe" is beginning. We played (or attempted to play) this in my high school band years ago. (I'm 70 now). I knew this as "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring", which is "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" at the end of this cantata. (I had to look up this information as, unfortunately, I don't know German.) Even though we are blessed to be able to access these recordings via internet, I still hope to travel to Switzerland, Germany, Holland, etc. to hear this music.
You must take that trip! Don't miss the beautiful environment and the art! Food is great too. Once in a lifetime experience. Take care.
Praise God, uplifting and deeply spiritual music.
Bach, that never ending source of inspiration
WOW!!! It's Not Going to Get Any Better Than This, This Side of Heaven!!!! This Ensemble is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! I've Got the Feeling They We're All Born to DO THIS!!!!!!!
Impresionante presentación,felicitaciones.
so beautiful
That is some of the very best Bach playing and singing I have ever heard! That bass is a hoot!!!🤣 Loved the oboe d'amore, and the oboes d'acaccia too!
If by "a hoot" you mean scary of aspect and thin of voice, sure. The soprano pretty much blew everyone else away. I agree with you about the oboes... Da caccia and d'amore were all beautifully played... As was the principal violin.
bach. siloti
You are so right about that bass! Great diction and expression rather than „vocal artistry“. And pitch perfect, to boot! (Rhymes with hoot...!)😉
'That bass', his name is Wolf Matthias Friedrich, I can assure you, is a very skilled singer. I have a bass voice myself and could only dream of singing like that. Friedrich's background is in opera, i.e. very expressive, and I have noticed he appears in the Bachstiftung cantata performances when a some extra power and theatricality is required. That being said, all the solo singers in these performances are very skilled, and it is a rather fatuous thing to say that the soprano, Hana Blažíková is her name, 'blew everyone else away'. Soprano and tenor voices on the surface always sound more versatile and exciting than alto or bass, however if you listen keenly there are many beautiful things to be heard. Bach never neglected these voices in his compositions! Quite the contrary.
Truly exceptional blending of voice and other instruments, all. The audio editing is among the best in this series. During transitions, the subtle smoothness of muffled recorded sound is a credit to the audio engineers. As the sounds of preceding mastery lingered during short breaks, the near silence was hardly silent. At the end, did the maestro whisper, "Wow?" I did. Thank you.
A so marvellous Cantata !! After all, just the thousandth Bach's masterpiece !!
Excellents chef, musiciens et choristes, magnifique trompettiste
Lutz is incredibly good, phenomenal. Love is energy enthusiasm and haunting readings. I simply love it!
Einfach großartig...
Maravilloso, fantastico y hermoso, sin duda alguna magistralmente interpretada y cantada.
Wunderbar Schön!
Sublime !!!
A beautiful tribute to the glorious (herrlich!) music of Bach…
Me agrego a los aplausos. Y muchas gracias Bachstiftung.
De nada :)
12:11 one of greatest Bach's arias
glad you enjoy it as much as we do :)
0:42 Love the craftsmanship of the end of that cello.
I think that's the doublebass.
I know there's a famous and popular piece here. But I always come here for the soprano Aria. The violin play and the voice are so good!
happy to hear and glad you enjoy it
Superb, outstanding, magnificent, exceptional, marvellous, wonderful, sublime, perfect, eminent, matchless, peerless, supreme, superior, superlative, splendid, admirable.
I have no words to describe the beauty of this work.

Just one word: divine

Okay, all of this is well and nice, but would you please just get to the POINT, and Tell Us if you Liked It.!!!!!
All the Cantate is wonderful but it seems that the Initial and the final are the summit of all choral music of JSB (fortunately there are other summits). It is a real pleasure to listen the Chor of the Fundation!. Thank you for offer these in you page, warmly.
This music is truly Heavenly! Bach is the Fifth Evangelist!
Immenso
One of my personal favorites, whether to sing, perform, or conduct. Just splendid fun!
bachstiftung thank you, belissimo Choir and orquestra of the J.S. Bach Foundation, Bravo
I really love that Soprano, Hana Blazikova... her voice is so colorful... Her interpretation of 'I know my redeemer liveth" of Handel - Messiah (else were on YT) is pure magic !
Not only her singing, but her lovely countenance and jet black hair make my heart beat very fast!
