    I started my collection with a Bulova. Still have it years on. Bulova is very definitely underrated.

    These "adjust your own watch" movements are super cool. During the 70s Citizen played with this same idea with their Adorex line. Fine adjustability via the crown for them. Wish more companies would make watches like this but it's good to see at least one still does!

    I have the Accu Swiss Murren, love the line. This was the signature line of Greg Thunn when he was CEO. After Citizen acquired Frederique Constant, Bulova's venture into the luxary Swiss market was killed and Thunn was fired.

    I have the 63B172, non-exhibition case back, version. I really enjoy it. My other Accu-Swiss watches are the 65C116 Tellaro Chronograph, 65A107 A-15 pilot watch and 63B186 Telc dress watch. Including some vintage Accutrons, my Bulova collection recently bumped my Casio collection out of the top spot by quantity.

    Great video Chis. I also own this model and bought brand new from AD before they were discontinued, did not pay anywhere near retail price but definitely much more than $250. It's a great well made accurate watch, enjoy & wear it in good health.

    Thank you for the review it's an interesting watch. Not sure I can get past the look. The whit dial is nice and the black is probably the best way to go but the prices are so much higher. I have a three hander precisionist because of the smooooth second hand. It looks completely seamless almost like a spring drive so I do appreciate Bulova.

    Awesome find Chris! Congrats and enjoy. Bulova definitely makes some amazing watches which can be purchased at great prices. I just bought a Bulova Curved Chronograph with a 262kHz quartz movement, and was able to buy it for around $250. Thank you for this great video and looking forward to more like it. Take care 👍

    I own quite a few Bulova watches all from their mid to upper level models beginning with the obvious Lunar Pilot as well as the Surfboard in the Quartz version. Bulova and the heritage of Joseph Bulova and how he built the Brand in the USA is very cool. I consistently see the deals you can get on these Accu-Swiss models with entry level solid Sellita movements that are well built, fit and finish and definitely worth money.
    Bulova’s archival series, Joseph Bulova collection and it’s off shoot brands Accutron have some stunning pieces. Definitely feel Bulova is underrated and I always keep my eye out for models that have been overlooked by people thinking Bulova is cheap, department store nonsense.
    Big fan of the newer dress pieces in the Sinatra Collection.
    Thanks for the review and love checking out some hidden gems in the Bulova lineup. 🙏🏽

    I have a Bulova Precisionist quartz diver with a 1000th of a second chronograph and a "normal" sweep hand its a brilliant watch if you have the wrist to sustain a 240 gram hunk.😁 A very underrated brand indeed.

    Great video! Love to see this underrated pieces by recognized brands. Other pieces by Bulova that seem underrated are the Accutron II; better looking than the Precisionist line, and inspired by their back catalogue from the 60's and 70's. I have the Moonview (inspired by the Astronaut, used by test pilots in the 60's). Keep up the great work Chris, thanks

It arrived yesterday and I am very happy with it, but sadly it doesn't have the exhibition back. 🙁 happy though because the next cheapest one was $180 more than I spent. Thx.

    Mine is a cheap Automatic from China, Forsining for only 35 U$ (bought last year).
    It similar to Patek Phillipe Chronograph Geneve with date, day, month and 24 hour display.
    I had manually tuned it with handphone stopwatch for 3 days and now, wolaaa .....:
    The accuracy is pretty good, +15 sec/day in Horizontal and -10 in Vertical position.
    I wind it up 10 to 11 turns every 6AM and 6PM a day.
    Combine that position and wearing it for work, it can achieve_, +/- 5 sec a day,. After a month of using, my watch still exactly the same hour and minute with world clock reference.

    I have the version with the silver steel case and white dial. I changed the strap to a Milanese and now it looks really cool and sporty. Have you noticed that the hands resemble the Omega Seamaster hands? And did you know that Richard Branson was the testimonial for the watch: Calibrator for Innovator! Was the Slogan...I paid used €500 and I also do not have the tool but when I have put the watch on the timegrapher it ran perfectly accurate at 0sec/day....🤩 I also have an Accutron Spaceview, a new Moonview as a reissue of the astronaut and of course the Bulova Moon Pilot ultra quartz watch...

    That is the harder to get colorway and dates from when Bulova was Swiss owned. I think mine has an ETA 2824-2. I've never heard of one with a Sellita though I certainly can't rule it out. Mine is the white dial version. There is also a silver dial version. Great watch. Note that small key movements tend to do nothing. In order to affect the movement, you have to move it a certain minimum amount. If you make a bunch of tiny movements, nothing will happen except for the complication dial arrow. So where the complication says the setting is isn't really representative of a particular timing. It's just relative (unless you 're careful to move in slightly greater movements). It still works well though. You kind of need a timegrapher and a lot of patience to regulate it, even with the external regulation. Theoretically you could do it without a timegrapher over many many days with a lot of patience, but a timegrapher is very useful.

    • @WatchChris
      @WatchChris  3 роки тому +1

      Just wondering how accurate have you gotten it to?

    • @carbondragon
      @carbondragon 3 роки тому +1

      @@WatchChris It was within a couple of seconds when I did it. But watches seem to drift and I don't think it is that accurate now. I'd have to get it off the watchwinder and wear it for a few days and see what it's doing and probably re-regulate it. But it's not as easy as you think because naturally you move the control and it changes ALL the positions but then you are kind of trying to add up the shifts in all the position trying to see where it might come out on your wrist. It's tough.

    • @WatchChris
      @WatchChris  3 роки тому

      Perhaps a timegrapher would work best

    • @carbondragon
      @carbondragon 3 роки тому

      @@WatchChris Without a timegrapher, you would have to make an adjustment and wear it a day or two and see if it's better or worse. With the timegrapher, you can adjust and look at all the positions and try to guess when you have it such that when you wear it and it ends up in the positions on your arm over a day it will be better. It's not sure, but it's a lot easier than just making one adjustment a day. Plus after doing it with the timegrapher a few times, you start to figure out what positions the watch is probably in on your wrist because you can see which ones influence the overall timing. It's a really cool experience.

    I have seen few watches uglier than this one. I like the idea of the calibrator, but having the calibration indicator on the face is awful - why not have it on the rear of the watch? I'm also not sure if the calibration works as easily as is suggested - I've read reviews that say that it's impossible to get it more accurate than around three seconds a day, which defeats the object.

    • @tiburonski

    I have loved Bulova for years! The Bulova Precisionist is just about the best quartz movement available anywhere. The problem with the current Bulova ( Precisionist ) line-up is most of them are Butt Ugly! Once the current designer gets a new job at MVMT or Nixon, the Bulova designs will hopefully improve.( My Precisionist model is the 96b159; it is extremely accurate and good looking to boot! )

    An external micro regulator doesn't make this sw200 any more accurate compared to other selita 200 or eta2824. It just make regulating it possible without taking it out. It really isn't a big deal. It's in fact a very ugly solution and an extra weak point for water ingress. Seiko had a more discreet solution back in the 60s on the king Seiko... They did it without having to add another pointless crown. Since you need an allenkey anyway. I like bulova especially their high accuracy quartz. But this watch is 250bucks for a reason
