Max pretty sure we graduated the same year. When I wrestled at pats and with what you did your first year at lane your name was everywhere that some judo kid was throwing top ranked wrestlers lol. Amazing to see your still killing it brother. 💪🏼🤝🏼
@@louie8815 lol I grew up with Nick and Chris Dardane who wrestled at OPRF and Minnesota. Max wrestled Nick and threw him with an uchi mata that shocked everyone. Why I would lie for likes from people I don’t know is absurd my friend. I’m just giving credit where it’s due and genuinely happy to see him doing big things.
Dude, I love your instructionals. I saw the Arsonist. You and JFLO man, you guys are amazing teachers! Did you say people can get access to your technique instructionals on patreon?
Really enjoying these instructionals. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we'd love to see a video about how you like to go about timing your deashi barai
In judo, we grip the gi near the wrist to guide the opponent to the direction we wanna throw him to..I believe the same principle applies for no-gi as well
fantastic teaching as always. question for you, since you say that you want to have the head height, any tips on executing this as the shorter guy against a taller opponent other than looking to pull down the wrist? i find i have a lot of trouble with this against taller guys also curious if you have any thoughts on the supinated/bicep curl/underclasp grip youll see islam do a lot, where the wrist control is just bicep curl trapping their forearm/wrist against their body rather than a straight wrist grip or tricep
Whenever I do uchi mata my knee tends to flare outwards slightly as opposed to pointing straight down. Is this a problem that I need to fix or does it not matter?
It becomes "hane goshi" when ukes throwing leg is bent/folded and "springs" uke upward. Many times uchi mata and hane goshi can look the same but there are nuances to the throwing action.

I don't think he is lying. Everything he said makes sense.

Hell yeah brother, taste the rainbow!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Thanks, Max. One question: why control at the wrist as opposed to the tricep on the far arm?

I need a master class in falling also
Wouldnt your "big" uchimata be actually hane goshi since you tap the far leg instead of the one close one??
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Whenever I do uchi mata my knee tends to flare outwards slightly as opposed to pointing straight down. Is this a problem that I need to fix or does it not matter?
When should I opt for the ken ken uchimata and when should I opt for the front headlock uchimata since it's almost the same set up?
I go for the ken ken if my opponent is around my height I go for the front headlock if they are taller than I am. Just a general rule of thumb
doesnt the far leg turn it into hane goshi?

Are you a lefty ? If I'm a lefty, do I have to have my left leg in front ?
Yes I'm a lefty (most of the time). Left handed = Left foot lead.
@@onejudoka thank you !
Your "big uchi mata" is not uchi mata - its hane goshi
I need evidence

uchi mata is more "leg technique", hane goshi "hip technique", and aimed for far leg
