It's like the writers purposefully kept them apart and forced us to accept Halijah ship. Too bad I never bought it, nothing felt natural about them. They kept showing sweet moments between Kayley and then showed Klaus literally break down after her death. Halijah was wrong from the beginning and even if the writer wrote them.as a couple. They relationship actually never happened, like literally from season 1 to 5, everytime they got together something bad happens and they split up. She also choose another man over him.

It's always been Klaus ❤ she knew deep down, if they had only been braver enough to show their true feelings before... She gravitated to Elijah because she was scared and he made her feel safe but there never genuinely clicked. Her last look was for Klaus and the way she looked at him before dying was like "it's always been you" like she came to the realisation that klaus was always the one who fought fiercely for her. She loved him and always had. Klayley ❤>>>>>
The whole time klaus held back because he thought no one could ever love him and no regret it and its not till she gone that he learns she would have never regretted him. That she would do it all over again. She would choose him despite their up and downs.
I wish we had more relationships like this on TV, two people of opposite genders who don't have a romantic relationship but are family and genuine love each other.
They definitely had romantic vibes people just refuse to see it because of the Elijah crap. But you can see after her death that episode shows they should of been more.

im making a playlist of your edits to watch when i feel like i need some some love in my life. also- if i could, i highly suggest making an edit of hayley and marcel- the most underrated friendship in the entire show. they have such a good relationship, and i know this is a very consiversal opinion but i would have loved to see marcel raise hope as a father figure, because you could tell, even when they first met in the dungeon and when marcel first held her as a baby, marcel loved hope almost as much as hayley or klaus. i would have loved to see their dynamic and im sad i was robbed of seeing hope grow up.
