Still can’t believe Jenkins pinned David Taylor in the nationals the following year, or year after that. I know DT was only a freshman, but he’s so good. I think DT’s only other losses were to Dake, both close matches.
I drove up to Penn State to watch this match. It was awesome. Was disappionting to see him lose at Nationals, he works so hard and is such an awesome wrestler. I really hope Metcalf wins Nationals next year. This kids fucking awesome.
People always said Metcalf grabbed headgear, I never believed it but you can actually see his fingers locked into the headgear on the hi crotch. He apparently grabbed Caldwells in the finals as well, the ref remarked about it. Guess its not illegal if you don't get caught.
In the national championship match against Lance Palmer you can see him grabbing Palmer's singlet to keep from being taken down and he would have lost.
I'm guessing you have never wrestled before. If you did you would know that it is a rule and they make you wear that if you have braid or dreadlocks or anything like that.
What do you mean? Is this not how Metcalf wrestled everybody? To me, it's racist if you treat a black wrestler differently, just because they're black.
Don't understand why someone couldn't use Metcalf's momentum against him, like in Judo. Maybe these wrestlers should have also taken Judo lessons to complement the wrestling...
Mixing the two is a brutal combo, I feel that you must study both to even attempt to be the best grappler possible. Although they share many techniques their teaching methods and concepts are more subtle than their counterpart in some ways yet less developed in other areas so learning both fills out some of the weak points and strengthens some of the stronger techniques as well.
Yea Metcalf doesn't get thrown though. Hips are too solid. Even with his aggressive style. You run that Caldwell match back 9 more times metcalf takes those 9 in dominant fashion.

Pinning combination was dope
I miss this style of wrestling.
Breaking them mentality is even better than breaking them physically.
Great video... thanks for posting! And whoa, was that a smile on Metcalf at 0:44 during the interview? I didn't know he had the smiling muscles.
you forgot Jenkins gets tired easily. he wore him down.

15 years ago is crazy. You wrote this the year I was born
what was that pinning combination that metcalf used?, looked like a re-inforced wing
Pause at 0:44 Metcalf tries to smile. This is the 1st time I've seen him smile.
What channel can I watch wrestling on? I have comcast if it helps.
I think the one move Metcalf is vulnerable to is a quick spinning throw.
what channel dose this come on?

Yeah Thats How Much He Enjoys Wrestling :D
Bubba Jenkin's REAL name is actually Jesse Jenkins! No wonder he changed it to Bubba!!!
crazy how big the difference can be between number 1 and number 2
It would have been 12 -1 with only back points and no pin. I surmise that Bubba wanted out of that match. Some days it's just not your day.
metcalf is going to be an Olympian at some point.
razerfish 2020 would probably be his last shot
@ThePaulMa yeah he is.
Did Metcalf smile in the pre-match interview???
0:44 seems like that was about as rare as a unicorn.
I remember someone commenting on college wrestlers, he said, a double chicken wing? How. . .
What pinning move is that called from brent metcalf?
arm bar
Bubba broke so hard
its a double armbar into a stack.
metcalf stomped him again at the beat the streets gala in new york tonight 2-0 6-0
I like your youtube name lol
am i the only one who saw metcalf pulling on jenkins' headgear on that second takedown?
I surely did and I’m in 2021
LMAOO Metcalf is a beastt
Bubba rocks those psus

What the hell is on Bubba's head, cause that sure isn't hair!
grabbin headgear
i think so, idk but it was creepy as hell looking lol
i think metcalf need to work on neutralizing athletic wrestlers and he will be fine.
haha
what's with metcalf and black guys
What do you mean?
Is this not how Metcalf wrestled everybody?

Easier said than done. It's controlled momentum.
Why dont you wrestle him? I wanna see you use his momentum against him
Darion Caldwell did :) . And I agree Metcalf was constantly walking into overhooks, belligerently. Someone should have tossed him on his fuckin head.
Yea Metcalf doesn't get thrown though. Hips are too solid. Even with his aggressive style. You run that Caldwell match back 9 more times metcalf takes those 9 in dominant fashion.
Darrion Caldwell gutted Metcalf like a fish.
