      I'm guessing the 'running away' bit was because of siblings taunting him and telling him over and over how much trouble he was in and not letting up (also a kid that age should NOT be cleaning up glass shards on their own, older bro should have stepped in right away to handle it so the kid didn't cut himself up).

      Omg get ready to freak, cuz I did - I was in Bath, England at the 2000 year old Roman Baths. There was a beautiful Roman vase on a pedestal in the museum part of the place. These two French aholes were arguing and paying ZERO ATTENTION to their two hellions who were pushing the pedestal as hard as they could, and this ancient Roman artifact was literally teetering back and forth! I growled “Arrête! (Stop it!)” at them and they jumped back from it in a heartbeat. And the parents just kept on arguing. 🤦‍♀️ Thank God I was there to stop them because they were really trying hard to knock that vase off and I could see it being shattered into a million pieces.

    I honestly think it's sad that that boy felt his only option in the end was to run away rather than face his parents' reaction. As someone who grew up in the same kind of household, I could never imagine being the type of parent that would have my own children fleeing from me in abject terror. Could you imagine being so horrible to _your own children?_ It was just a door for God's sake. It can be replaced, but the scar you would put on your child's mind by being the type of parent this boy clearly had, that can never be erased. Never stop loving your children, never stop forgiving them. They are _CHILDREN._

      To be fair, it’s a cyclical pattern... that’s probably how the mom was treated as a kid as well... and these kids (if they have kids they keep) will probably treat their kids the same too... it’s sad but true... also very common in the black community (so it’s normalized)- there was an nfl player that beat his 4 yo with a f***ing branch and they went super easy on him bc he’s black and an nfl player... unfortunately they don’t offer resources in schools that educate kids that they have rights (like not living in fear/being assaulted by their parents)... honestly I feel like they need a day at the beginning of the school year where they talk about what behavior by adults is and isn’t appropriate and when kids should talk to someone at school to get help

    • @adriennestudaway893
      @adriennestudaway893 Рік тому +10

      I think if you look at the older kids' reactions, it was very much "Oooo you're in trouble" and a lot of laughter. I believe that you may be reading a lot more into the situation that is warranted. He knows that there are going to be consequences for shooting the gun near the house/in the house or whatever and, yes, he is worried about those consequences but I think it was more the suspense of eventual punishment, the guilt, and older siblings egging him on that caused an over-reaction. None of those older kids looked afraid for themselves or him. Sometimes kids are just dramatic and blow up things in their minds. We didn't even hear any yelling over the phone. I don't believe anyone was emotionally scarred here.

    I feel for that little boy. I know how it feels to be terrified of my parents reaction to something like that! I think that if my kid ever did something like that, I would actually be happy that I wasn't there because it would give me time to cool off before I got home and gave him a consequence like, in this case, no more BB gun for 6 months and he has to pay out of his allowance to replace half of the cost of the window/door. Plus, I really want to know why a little boy that age had access to a BB gun if no parents were around. That kind of seems like it's partly the parents' fault.

      I agree that it's the parents and possibly his older siblings responsibility since they would know better and didn't take it away from him. No one in that house needed a bb gun. When you have kids, you have to leave some room for mistakes because they're going to happen, and boys tend to be a little more reckless. No more access to a bb gun, period, and paying some allowance is enough of a punishment. That's what you would do as an adult, clean it up and pay to replace it. That's teaching him how to be responsible. Beating that poor child is unnecessary and just disgusting.

      @gloria sounds like the police officer doesn’t take care of him 🤷🏼‍♀️ Dogs shouldn’t be kept in outdoor kennels and they need exercise... our small 10lb dog would walk MILES every day (except on really cold winter days, on those days he might run some laps in the house and we would play with his toys more than usual and throw them so he would run and retrieve them)... only time he ever “destroyed” (really just left a bunch of teeth marks) anything were my Sandals by the door that were squishy when he was teething as a baby (and yes, we got him teething toys).... big dogs (until they’re really old) probably need 10+ miles of walks/runs per day... generally a police dog (at least around here) is assigned to an officer that makes him part of the family and takes care of him like any other responsible dog owner (after all police departments -or taxpayers- shell out big bucks for police dogs)- during off hours the dog is a dog (albeit some play time may be more of training exercises like running a field to recover ammo)...

    She would paw me, not kick me when I did my nails. I would put her outside. She took a sheet of aluminum off the shed one time. I started doing the dogs nails 💅 when I did mine. She loved it.
    In the morning when I did my hair, I would brush her coat and put bows or hair band in her head.
    If I took a shower she wanted to jump in too.
    If I cooked she wanted to be next to me and help me eat my meals.

Reading, computer etc. My sister was outside and called me to come out. So... me being aware that pups like to chew on anything and everything, put my glasses up on the counter out of the way. Well she was a large dog and she got them and ate them lol. Mind you, I only had them for a couple of months. I was 😥 haha. Good times.

      My 12 year old border collie has never chewed up anything, except for a would-be burglar he caught breaking into my old camping RV!
      However, this weird little stray cat that showed up on my porch 2 days after Xmas in 2020 is another story. Houdini has shredded my leather computer chair, he loves stuffed dog toys (he aggressively steals from my dog), but rips them apart and leaves parts all over the place. I've had several cats, all my life, but never one like him! Anything he can destroy, he does.
      This week he learned to jump 3 ft in the air from my bed so he can grab the light cord on my ceiling fan and turn it on... at 5:00 AM! Of course, it's a very bright light so it is a scary way to wake up. I'm shortening that cord.
      Maybe I should have named him "Covid" since he's a destructive entity who just showed up one day in 2020!
      However, I love him so much, I'm stupid about him. That's him I'm holding in my pic. I put his pic on Facebook, and a neighbor who lives about 4 miles away wrote, "THAT is the little a-hole who killed all the koi in my pond, then disappeared!"
      Well, that explains his fascination with water. He drops toys in the dog's water dish, then knocks it over to "catch" the toy, leaving a mess on the kitchen floor. My poor dog comes to get me, whimpering. "Okay, Joey, what did Houdi do this time?"

    • @LazyIRanch

      @@It-is-me...Melsie Yes, Houdini is the crazy cat. We know he came from a small rural community @ 4-5 miles from us because several people from there recognized him. He's a beautiful tuxedo cat with green eyes, I called him Houdini because he appeared like magic, wearing a "tuxedo", and he's a trickster.
      My sweet, patient dog gets along with all the cats, but his favorite is a little black female kitty who HATES Houdini. She goes to sleep nestled up against the dog, and he growls at Houdini if he gets near. She also just showed up here one night during a full moon. My son appropriately named her "Luna".
      Where I live, there are only 5 houses in about 4 square miles, and we are the only one with cats. They sure picked the right house! I think those two found us because they smelled our older cat's litter box dump behind the house and figured we are suckers for cats. They're right! We are just one big family of weirdos. 🤪

    He never destroyed anything, but his chewing toys (of which he has MANY!!!!)😁
    Much ❤️ from Austria 🇦🇹

      You're fortunate that Django has a good temperament! I have 4 rescue dogs and the one who was dumped by the highway is the worst dog I've ever owned. She destroys everything and doesn't listen. God I love her though.

      Maybe they need more exercise? Our 10 lb baby would walk MILES every day... unfortunately he has passed... only thing he ever chewed on (aside from his toys) was a pair of foam sandals when he was teething - ones that were by the door... I wasn’t happy but it wasn’t too bad since he was just a puppy... I hid all my other similar sandals and just let him have those by the door 😂😂😂 he never truly destroyed them- just left a bunch of teeth marks... and he wouldn’t touch his teething toys really 😂😂😂

    One place I worked had an open plan office so to create small meeting rooms they fitted large glass panels. Several “exploded” for no reason at all including one fairly close to my desk. It was really scary

      This past summer, Denver area stores had glass windows shatter pretty often. It was from uneven heating! We saw a lot of restaurants and stores with plywood covering the broken spots. And of course… all the broken ones were on the south sides of buildings. North-facing? They were fine. South and some west-facing? Shattered. East-facing was also pretty safe.

    That's why I love my cats. Yeah, one of them likes to stalk and "kill" my hair bands, walking off with her trophy, but none of my kitties EAT things they aren't supposed to! I'll take a hairball over going through my dog's poop in search of a wedding ring every day.

    Kids and museums is a great thing. They should be learning about everything there however they should be respectful and not be running. As a parent you know if your kids can be trusted to behave or of theres a chance of them running around, touching or misbehaving and in that case they shouldn't be taken to a museum. Not kids fault, not museums fault, it's the parents fault

    • @Zardox2
      @Zardox2 2 роки тому +2

      Yep!
      I blame the parents.
      My father is an artist. I have been going to museums since I was a very small child.
      I was TAUGHT how to behave.
      To this day, I will typically have my hands clasped behind my back when I am looking at expensive items/works of art, etc...
      A similar story hit about children "accidentally" destroying a glass artwork.
      The parents blamed the museum, despite the exhibit being roped off, and in a separate area from where a child-friendly event was happening.
      The parent simply let their kids run amok... in an area that was NOT open, then denied ANY responsibility.
      Un-freaking-believable.

      Unfortunately there are too many irresponsible dog owners... dogs (esp big ones) need a lot of exercise and attention... I remember when we had our baby (he has since passed at a very old age) he would walk for MILES every day - he was only 10 lbs when he reached adulthood - so a big dog probably needs about 10 miles per day... we got him when I was a kid and one of our family friends was saying her family wanted one but she didn’t know... I told her no way should they get one (her kids were super spoiled and bratty)- a dog is like a baby- you have to walk them every day at least twice, clean up after them, feed them, give them attention, etc (esp when they are a puppy- they need to go out every couple of hours just like a human baby needs to go frequently).... eventually she broke down and of course her kids didn’t want to take care of the poor thing- just wanted to take some photos for the gram and do their own thing despite when they begged her they said they would take care of it.. thankfully that baby got a new home

    @5:23, the dog who ate the AirPods: my mother’s dog ate (chewed up and destroyed) her hearing aid, probably worth $2-$3K. I wrote a haiku about it: Abbie dammit, pup,/ chaos in orange fur suit/ killed Mom’s hearing aid. For awhile, Mom called Abbie the dog Abbie dammit, cuz she was a handful when she was a puppy. Dogs and cats LOVE human ear wax! And anything with said earwax on it! Used q-tips! Ear buds! Hearing aids! Ear plugs! I have to keep mine away from my cats.

      As someone who went through that exact thing but with my collection of books instead, it sucks. Be safe with your candles and other potential fire hazards. You don't want one dumb mistake to cost you something you care about like that.

    The fire one hit home... I lost my entire book collection to a housefire last year that was restricted to my room. I'd been collecting books since I was 6 when I read harry potter. An entire wall of my room was a bookshelf, there were hundreds of books, and I lost every single one.
    They survived the fire, you just can't get the smell of smoke out of books so I had to toss em all. I literally spent thousands of dollars over decades of my life building that collection.... my books were super important to me. They were part of who I am as a person.
    Fire isn't a joke yall, be careful with your candles, lighters, electrics, etc. Waking up with your bed and room on fire is traumatizing.

    • @Phizev
      @Phizev 2 роки тому +2

      As a fellow person having a room fire, and books, some of which were charred on the spine, the smell does go away after 2 to 3 years... I didn't keep them in my room, just boxed, and packed away.
      (I kept my prized books, even a couple with charring on the spines.)
