    Usually I find that introductions are the most boring part of a book. But this is a book in and of itself! How much edification can be found in here! And how much comfort and joy it gives hearing and reading along with these words. Thank you brother, this is what we all need to hear right now. Because we really are in harvest time.

    I am so grateful to Jesus as our faithful High Priest in drawing us to Him as He reveals the truth to us of just how precious we are to Him.
    Pearls of great price that He has treasured in the palm of His hand. We have gone through so much in a sysyem rigged with error that leads to burden and condemnation.
    There is such a vast difference in living in grace, free from performance and the law.
    We are free to be loved and know Jesus in reality, truth.
    Thank you for this message, David.
    I look forward to reading your book about this topic.

      I once thought that book would be so good and helpful....Our pastor at the time, the only true IC shepherd/brother/teacher we ever had inside of an IC told us politely a huge NO to that book. I thought it would be good, boy did I have to learn....

      @loriirons9503 praise God for his discernment. My family was doing a bible study with my Pastor and he asked what book would you like to study next? My nephew wanted to do the book of Danielle. My pastor mentioned something about RW and I said definitely not. He showed the next week with PDL. I ended the bible study and shortly after left the church entirely. There were a lot of factors as to why I left i.e., CCM worship music and RW teaching as the main diet.

      As a young twenty-something, the big church I attended with my family went through that book with the videos and everything. It felt cult-like to me at the time so I spent most of my time mocking Rick Warren's loud Hawaiian shirts. I knew something was amiss, but was not mature enough to name it other than listening to one man, a bigger church man, was very wrong. Thank you Lord for guarding our hearts and showing us, in time, the deception and false-ness of big religion!

    It makes so much sense, as a kid I was forced to go to so many different churches. Felt out of place at every single one. With what I know now, pastors were just encouraging the flesh, encouraging better performance for Jesus, but the reality was it was all just different flavors of self righteousness. Never did I hear “to him that worketh not his faith is accounted to him as righteousness”.
    I’m nothing, never have been. I know what wretched I am and I know the only thing that brought me closer to God was having to be led to understand the depth of the gospel. I knew Christ died for me, but I never knew he literally purchased me in his own blood.
    The gospel was always treated like it was shallow water, and the deep water was good works and stopping sinning. Always felt like a leper. Basically said screw church and all of it…I hated myself.
    Then after the revelation 12 sign shook everything. My older brother brought me back to the gospel. I struggled so much with assurance, “is it really that simple?” As an adult I came across Tim Henderson, Gregg Jackson, and of course our beloved David Benjamin.
    I knew that I was being brought to the truth, even though I felt like it was a mountain of truth I felt like I needed to climb and really I was just being spoon fed the truth by the Holy Spirit.
    Today, regardless of how I feel at any given moment, or how badly I mess up, I know, I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I know nothing can ever overthrow the blood of Jesus. His work cannot be undone, he is for me and not against me, and even if I don’t understand what’s going on about something, I can know that he is in complete control of my life and everything in it. He is not ashamed of me, and he loves me more than I can even imagine. I look forward to seeing his face, and that ministry is helping others to come to the same place using the word.
    I thank God for the brothers I didn’t know I had, the brothers Christ has risen up to speak to us who were weak and without food, to bring us assurance by helping us understand by untwisting all of the scripture that had been used to keep my mind in chains. It helped me let go of the idea that I needed to do anything for Christ, and instead be led to understand that I am the one who is being served by the one who laid it all down for me.
    Praise God, and may Christ receive all honor praise and glory forever and ever. Amen 🙏

I have a very heavy physical affliction that also torments me daily that I've been suffering with for almost 8 years. I've been searching for truth for a long time. Interesting bit about being alienated from small groups and subtle control mechanisms. That's been our experience, but it usually happens shortly after we arrive at a new church when the pastoral staff can't possibly know much about us. Not sure how this works.

    • @davidbenjamininchrist
      @davidbenjamininchrist  4 місяці тому +5

      small groups are a filter. The facilitator is not a teacher, but someone who intentionally brings up topics that they know will produce some debate. a bible believer will stand on the truth, and this will 'hurt someones feelings, and the facilitator will talk about how we need to respect and honour everyones opinions and views and "walk in love." this will stigmatize and shame Bible believers. As time goes on, the believer won't be able to keep a smile on his face but will appear discouraged because he can't play the game with a good conscience. This isolates him further. Now he's easy to spot, identified as a "problem," and reported by the facilitator to the pastoral staff in their "prayer meetings," where they each bring "concerns" for those "in their care.". "so and so is struggling..." anyway, this is actually all documented as a method to weed out problems. small groups are intended to bring these people to light but also condition the flock to major changes that will be announced eventually by the leadership, but it will feel like a "grass roots" movement because everyone will have already embraced whatever the leader wants to do. its all about control. this was all spelled out in a book by the leadership network (and almost ALL pastors of every denomination attend these conferences and read these books) called "transformational change" or something like that. i forgot the name. it might be by rick warren. It was part of his purpose-driven church growth strategies on how to prepare the church for the transformation needed to "grow" (really get the numbers and the money flowing) by appealing to nonbelievers (meeting their "felt needs") while stripping the church of the gospel and anything smacking of sound doctrine and getting rid of anyone who would stand in their way without the church knowing this purge is happening. its a "soft" purge technique that doesn't require dramatic confrontations.

    • @neosporran
      @neosporran 4 місяці тому

      @@davidbenjamininchrist Thanks for the explanation. We haven't quite experienced this, actually, but the church we're at now encourages its adult education, which I'm reluctant to attend because I'm almost certain to object to something (like the casual use/abuse of James 2, for example) and "hurt someone's feelings" as you wrote. I'm currently experiencing a lot of tension between my desire to raise the kids in a church/Christian setting and my well-developed mistrust of pastors and of the "Churchianity" subculture at large. I'm interested to know how other parents handle that. Not necessarily looking for advice, though.

    • @joyfulone7265
      @joyfulone7265 4 місяці тому

      @@neosporran I don't have an answer either but it is refreshing to see other parents, (thank you, David!) admit that they don't know what to do either, but we're trusting God each day. Two plus years out of a church and I speak for myself when I say that I am more at peace than I have ever been on my entire life. Our boys, who are 11 and 8, know why we left. Our oldest has said in his own words that people in church think they have to be "good" to go to heaven but the bible says to trust God. Hearing him say that warms my heart. The kids are gonna be alright. We never shove religion down their throats but talk about things naturally. I too worry they aren't getting a good foundation, but honestly, what kind of foundation did I have?! I lived in fear, without assurance for YEARS! Heck. I don't want that for my kids. I want them to know that Jesus keeps them, loves them, has given His Spirit as a gift, His presense always with them, and is caring for them as their good Shepherd. Will they get that in a church? Maybe small doses but then it will be contradicted and stamped out. Nope. I'm better off leaving them in God's capable hands.

      @@davidbenjamininchrist nailed it. That is exactly what happened at my old "church" with the "small group" facilitators, and that is how we were taught to lead Nicky Gumball's ridiculous "Alpha" courses here in Australia. "Give no answers, just ask questions to facilitate discussion" and then discuss problematic people afterwards. In retrospect it was just horrible, and completely devoid of the Gospel.

    • @davidbenjamininchrist
      @davidbenjamininchrist  4 місяці тому +3

      You don't take a single verse out of context and then try to find personal application or meaning in it, especially in the context the Old Testament prophets who are speaking to an entire nation That was under law. You can take personal comfort from certain promises in the scripture if you understand what the verse means. But rebukes to a nation law are not the place to start for learning about your position as an individual in Christ or as a member of the body of Christ. The most important thing I can say about this verse is it's not something God will ever say to you if you are a believer in Christ

    But the parable of leaven is likened unti to the kingdom of heaven. Same with the mustard tree. Somebody pls help😭 I'm missing something.

    • @davidbenjamininchrist
      @davidbenjamininchrist  4 місяці тому +3

      The kingdom of the heaven is the visible manifestation of the things related to God's move. Ultimately, it's fulfilled when the davidic throne is here. That will be the manifestation of the Kingdom of the heavens with no negative element. But the kingdom of the heavens refers essentially what the Nations can see of God's move. Versus the kingdom of God which is related to his life, which man cannot see unless he is born again. So while it takes being born again to enter the kingdom of God, the Kingdom of heavens comes in a way that every eye will see it. The reality of the Kingdom of the heavens is a mystery that is hidden represented by the treasure hidden in the field and the Pearl hidden in The depths of the sea. But the opposition to the kingdom of the heaven is represented by the birds stealing the seed the tares, the leaven of bad doctor and bad practice hypocrisy and politics etc. And the great tree which comes from this. In a sense that is also part of the kingdom of the heavens in that it is the result of God's move. Whenever God moves the enemy attacks. So there's always the two sides, God's move and the warfare associated with it. You cannot be biblically consistent and say that leaven is a good thing or that the birds related to the mustard seed are suddenly something else when Jesus told us that the interpretation of the parable of the sower is the key to interpreting the other parables. Although those who allegorize the Bible and the dominionists do interpret the mustard tree and the leaven as positive. They say that the gentiles are the leaven And they interpret as well that the gospel saturates the whole world and brings in the kingdom. And that the miraculous transformation of the mustard bush into a great tree is a positive thing because they assume that the kingdom must fill the Earth apart from Christ. That's called dominionism. So it fits with their theology that the church will essentially overtake the Earth. But the dispensation lists have always translated these parables correctly and in harmony with the rest of scripture.. In this case, the spiritual warfare that the enemy has employed is not to attack as in the case of the Old Testament where the Nations attacked Israel, and that's what the world saw... Instead, it is to counterfeit and imitate and present a deformed caricature to the world that the world assumes is the kingdom when in fact, the kingdom is hidden. God's real move is hidden and what most people see is the enemy's reaction and his opposition to the truth while pretending to be the truth. So the world looks at this monstrous system and says that's the kingdom but it's not. It's the opposition
