Doesn’t matter how easy the tricks look now... he’s a Godfather and Pioneer of BMX Freestyle... not to Mention inventor of the world’s first BMX Freestyle frame... the Haro Master! There would be no Freestyle the way we know it at all today, without these guys from the original old school! He was genuine too... I remember back in the 80’s, in 7th grade, and just got my first Freestyle bike (Haro FSX... thanks Dad) we had to do projects on writing letters to people we admired in business... so I chose to write a letter to Bob Haro, and all the guys on the Freestyle team at the time, he wrote back, and sent me a free 1987 Haro Catalogue! That was too cool Much respect!
Back in the day that was amazing ! Even though the guys today are 10 times better... this riding still impresses me cause he was doing it before anyone else. He’s part of the pioneers that laid the ground work for today’s tricks. A true legend.
What the kids of today need to understand is that was Cutting Edge at the time. Saw him and RL 1980 I think. After that we all went home and built quarter pipe ramps in our driveways . He's a badass artist/drawer also. You weren't cool unless you had one of his numbers on your plate.
Bob was the "man" back in the day... To all the new riders out there... Bob set the standard then raised the bar, continuously. In my youth, with overprotective parents we couldn't say "freestyle" or our parents would freak out and not let us ride, we'd say "haro" our parents never knew...
@@jeremybaker5444 Hiya Jerremy originally from the UK but living in Portugal for years now, got into BMX thro my 2 eldest sons, god the BMX's that have been through our house, unreal. Currently I got a Haro sport 1985 diet Bashguard, I imported from USA , used but very good original one, got it years ago.Attempting to rebuild A Dave Mira Flair today, Also have two early Haro Sport frames & Pieces , One Chrome ,One Painted from Germany & Mexico. I love the Sport, for me The best ever BMX
if someone these days could go back in time like Terminator where they couldn't take anything with them other than their physical body ,do you think those bikes would be capable of a triple tail whip on those quarter pipes? Imagine what the crowd would do .
I still get that excited feeling I got watching it when I was 13 watching it for the first time. Brings back great memories of a time when you could ride and impress people without having to do 15 feet of air.
May look lame by today's standards but that's like comparing the Wright Brothers airplane to the Eurofighter Typhoon. Can't have one without the other. Haro is a legend and a pioneer.
As a man I'm not ashamed to say it.I love Bob Haro. Its legends like this that put BMX on the map.
Ditto!👍
😁❤️👍

It's no different than any other sport. Respect the past.

Have met Bob a couple of times recently. He is a genuinely nice guy.

Looked great 32 years ago when I was 16. Looks shite now when you see what the kids do on bikes today.
