After having watched your video about getting stuck in your rail car, I wondered why you didn't use independent bolt on axleless trailer suspension and hubs. They are available from Walmart and Amazon. This would give you some ground clearance and eliminate the need for axles and suspension.

I’m a mechanic and fabricator by trade and I love traveling to find camping spots especially out west and I like trains. all your videos are awesome doing things like what you do is all cool. keep the videos coming.
My dude you need a patreon or a members subscription on here or something. This is better entertainment than anything on Netflix. :) Seriously though you need that man. :)
Love the videos. Someday you deserve more help with video production, I'm thinking Matt's off-road recovery kind of operation with others help film and edit. Keep up good work my dude
Love your style/work Matt, I commented on one of Carson Brown’s Instagram posts that you guys need to collaborate…oh, as an older engineer please, please wear safety glasses when cutting/drilling/grinding or machining, the world needs you man and you can’t make great content if you can’t see.
Such a creativity. Awesome video. I thinkthere should have been a 8 to 10 inches raise in front, instead of sharp angle. Because sharp angles are a waste of space. You cannot accommodate anything in there. The rachet strap did a great job. I think we need a triangular or diamond shaped welded frame to hold the suspension.
The front wheel wobble is probably because the center of gravity has been moved back and it's trying to do a wheelie. You have all that camping gear up top on the rear, making the front end light enough that the wheel can't track straight.
If the Spira has regenerative braking (like most EVs), you should be able to recover a lot of power going down the mountain. My car gains over 5 miles of range going down the mountains toward Santa Cruz.
I feel like you really need to reinforce your rear suspension. I remember how it bent going down the railroad tracks. Now you're adding more weight. Add some beef to it. 13:51 Yeah never mind.. It already happened.
@MattSpears good job! Simple, got it done. You're doing it! Real sponsorship deals. You're doing it big. Thank you for posting the build and a condensed version of the trip! Seriously hoping to join you after I'm fully recovered from that back surgery, still getting after it and recovering. Cheers to many more years of success!
next go run this rig on the rails and camp out for a few nights ps solid welding skills easy side hustle just tell the local welding shops u can take small jobs the ones they wont bother with
10:33 I wouldn't use foam on the floor, yeah it might be convenient, but it would be terrible to keep clean, especially in the desert. All that dust...
Unfortunately, any small 1KW generator like that Yamaha (I have one also, to run the AC in my crane cab) at that altitude is really compromised as to how much power it can deliver. What we both need is high altitude jetting for it. Which really makes one appreciate there is NO loss of power with a e powered rig! Someone correct if I'm wrong there (e snowbike, 4 e bike, pulg in hybrid car rider here.)
Love everything about this...except basically killing the amazing outdoors vibe with a generator running all night. Oh no no no no no there's gotta be a better way.
For future reference, a much stronger structure will be narrow at the mounting points. But wider as it goes up so when you have that roll bar across the front of the vehicle, you should have extended it out about 18 inches and then have connecting rods that go from the top of that roll bar to the one in the. Rear, which you should have extended it approximately 12 inches.. That way , you will have a greater platform area.
With driving exhausted, broken suspension, riding motorcycles while carrying cameras, overloaded, poorly tied down items, branches on the windscreen, and towing from a motorcycle all while on public roads….concerns about their safety or anyone else’s came in dead last. 😂

Cool video Matt, looked like it was fun! Great seeing Kevin!
Thanks for watching!

That is the dream!
Have just realised that maybe you should make a lightweight trailer for the back to carry extra gear, which may also help with the weight distribution

The car bed, you made 2 frames" now make one more to add on the the bottom frame..3or6 inches depending on the room! Great video man!

It doesn't
I wish it had Regen. Not quite nice enough of an ev.
You need to put a little lawn mower motor on that thing and hook up a Alternator to the motor to charge your battery and for propulsion in a pinch!!
That is a great idea!

@24.30 Fire on the mountain, run boys, run!
Have I seen this video before?
Yeah I thought so to
I was just thinking the same thing 14:42
Second part of the video is highlights of the original tent trip.
Yeah, I was thinking... "wait a minute, didn't he break down in the same exact spot... on the same exact wheel and suspension a few months ago?"
@@MattSpears All good brotherrrr, just a little Déjà vu. Boy got mad Skillzzzz. Stay Safe out there man !
Love the videos. Always a good time watching them..💪
Glad you like them!
@@MattSpears prefer not watching the same one tho haha
@@lukepeeters5178 Totally understand, me too!
Matt. You need to extend the body. Needs to be a tandem seater. My first thought on your tent frame was to put a hinge on it. Fold out with 2 legs.
Dude. That frame belongs on a Jeep 😝😎
Ever thought of pulling trailer 😜
Great video! I love the background music!
Wow really creative on that camperand yea it's amazing up on that mountain
This is such great content 🙌🕊
...No actual puppies were used in the making of this PUPPY! love you're stuff bro!
No puppies were harmed in the making of this video
Doubt that
Now that's what I call an adventure!
I would love to build one of these.
Love your spirit mat...

Is that first sponsor? Cool to watch the channel grow.
That speed wobble is likely due to all that weight in the rear👍
Que legal você fez este carro elétrico ,agora é só ir para as aventuras !!!
Atleast you wore gloves the second time. But please wear a long sleeve shirt also when welding 🥰
Re-upload or not, still epic content. Keep going, Matt!
Appreciate it! Wanted to get the build video out there.

Good job Matt 👏🥰🚗
Your front wheel going wild is probably from when you crashed it on the railroad
Can you also add solar panels on top because it will help in daylight charging batteries
10:33 I wouldn't use foam on the floor, yeah it might be convenient, but it would be terrible to keep clean, especially in the desert. All that dust...
i think you should redo the full suspension thing. it keeps breaking.
Once again, you need a FPV drone. Could have got some epic shots of stuff like that water fall.
take a shot everytime matt says "puppy"
Im happy you have good sponsors now you can get yourself a better mic . No hate just wish the audio was clearer sometimes.
You should buy a silky saw
stick some solar panels on the roof of the tent so you can charge while driving it.
Looks way fun.
should install a regen braking system regan some of the power and less wear n tear on the brakes
It's missing some big solar panels.
I like that pipe bender got a link where you got it
Great 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice!
Do you actually build and sell these? I would love one!
I dont think the target audience needs a description of what a tack weld is
1:51 how will you open the door though?
This is wild
So what happens if there is a storm and a ton of wind, would it tip over?
Hey, what is that beast on the other side of the garage?
Cool !
I bet they didn't think this was in their future when they build that polystyrene car
Just curious...Wots the wattage of those rear motors do you know??
They are about 8hp each. Not 100% on Wattage
Are you in the SF bay area...???
Needs some regen braking
🤘🤘
Nice 👏👏👏👍
Guess I only needed to see the first half of the video 😊
this puppy... XD
petition to buy some walkie-talkies so you guys can communicate

I thought 'tack' meant spot weld.
it took 16:15 for me to realise "i watched this before".
I think that puppies just right, you'll sleep like a big dog in that puppy. Thats possibly the most capable offroad ride ever to grace Moab.
Someone might’ve already said this, but you should put a solar panel on top of it! (Update) Matt mentioned solar panels in his video hahaa

“Tack” technically means a tiny weld to hold it in place. But that is welding so you are right still 😂 love the videos bro.
