Also idk if you've talked about Parvati's strategy for when it rains it pours, but she went those like 6 hours or however long it was in Micronesia by using mantras to basically make it feel like less time
exactly. It was either win at the cost of getting hit one more time (which means nothing in the grand scheme of thing), or let Yau-man or Alex find Stacy's last unique space so that there'd be a 3-way tie. Intentionally hitting yourself could be a hack in some scenarios, but this wasn't one of them
I was recently watching HHH and there is a challenge where they need to carry block letters on a wheelbarrow type cart. Devin is the first player to be savvy enough to stack his blocks along the shaft of the cart thus not needed to balance them in a vertical stack. But even more savvy, Ashley creates a giant pile of blocks like a pyramid saving her a second trip. All in all the time save didn’t matter with Chrissy winning the word scramble. But it made me think of this series instantly. Thanks for the great videos.
I feel like survivors fan base is slowly dying I’m glad there’s still a community on UA-cam who produce quality content. I appreciate your time and effort
Thank you for your amazing videos, Peridiam! After watching Spencer crush that puzzle in an earlier video of yours I started buying a bunch of Survivor puzzles for when I'm eventually on! Keep up the spectacular content and enjoy the premiere tonight.
I think I commented this once like 3ish years ago, but nothing has changed, this is genuinely the highlight after my day bc he always posts almost exactly after I get out of school.
I imagine that hold-one-arm-in-the-air challenge is a bit like wearing super painful heels.. once you take them off, you're not getting them back on. And once you unlock your elbow, you're gonna struggle from there on out.
I'm glad another one of these came out. My wife and I are watching survivor and I love piping up every time one of these comes on. Hey! this was on challenge hacks!
Surprised you haven’t done a “players who terribly failed to do a challenge” or maybe even more complicated “Players who TRIED to hack a challenge but then failed terribly”
Your wish for someone to repeat Joe's strategy in that Hard to Handle Challenge on Cambodia has been granted! Survivor 47 had a new iteration of this challenge, and Kyle did Joe's strategy. He stood on the side of the plank with his feet as the anchor, although I didn't see him face backward on the final leg. Still, it paid off for him.
that 2nd "hack", to make the pyramid, was a regular on Crystal Maze for years, along with something you sometimes got in christmas crackers. Its a very old puzzle, even if it was new to survivor!
Maybe it is because I do a lot of puzzles that deal with shapes (like Nurikabe or Traffic Jam) instead of numbers (like Sudoku), but the pyramid puzzle seems ridiculously easy. You have 2 pieces that are 4 beads long. That means they have to be edges. They can't be anywhere else. Also there is only one possible arrangement, since placing one piece on an edge "blocks" 4 adjacent edges (there is only room for 3 beads left on those). Then you have 2 pieces that are 2x3 beads left to place, and there is also only 1 position for those.
Same. First pieces that should be placed are the ones that only have one place to go and work from there. Numbers puzzles (such as, to use your example, sudoku) actually work in a similar way.
The first challenge with the 3D pyramid puzzle has actually been done more than once. The infamous Thailand (season 5) season used this for a reward challenge to be able to see a video from your family in full.
Fun Fact: Most of the 2D Puzzles in Survivors have also been included in Mickey Mouse Magazine YEARS before, and have probably been solved by more children than adults.
The best part of puzzles is it just takes a moment sometimes to solve. I had that puzzle solved from EoE the moment I saw the pieces and final shape. I’m awful at puzzle I just had a eureka moment then.
try doing that when you've been starved & living in the same conditions they have. i've struggled with anorexia for 5 years & not eating takes a MASSIVE toll on the brain & the way in functions.
Also, I don't recall if you mentioned it before, but on the reward challenge of season 16 episode 4, Ozzy did most of the work for his tribe, specifically when he moved most (if not all) buoys in one go, making it much easier for the rest of his tribe. I'm not a fan of Ozzy at all, but I gotta give him credit for that.
@@reubenmanzo2054 misgendering is calling someone by the wrong gender, often done maliciously by jerks who can't let people live their lives. Evvie uses they/them pronouns, as opposed to he/she. Oftentimes people discredit non-gender-conforming people for literally no reason and go out of their way to be dicks to them. also if you assume ppl's gender and/or sex based on physical appearance you've clearly not been outside much, as i run into people all the time whose physical appearance gives zero indication of their gender or sex.
@@dwell7315 "Evvie uses they/them pronouns." Really? She doesn't use any other pronouns? At all? I don't believe that and here's why. Pronouns are the single biggest diversifying aspect to our communication. As such, if there are any pronouns you aren't using, that's that entire section of communication that's closed off to you. For example, there are first person singular (I/me/my), first person plural (we, us, our), second person (you/your), third person male (he/him/his), third person female (she/her), third person neutral (it, typically used for inanimate objects) and third person plural (they/them/their) and I can give you a paragraph using every pronoun just mentioned. So if someone asks 'what pronouns do you use?', the only realistic answer is 'all of them'. Also, if you claim someone's physical appearance gives no indication of their gender, then I suggest you look harder. Here are some key indicators: -Existence of facial hair -Size of the mammary glands -Width comparison between the shoulders and the hips -Distribution and fat and muscle tissue
@@reubenmanzo2054 okay. When the phrase "[name] uses xxx/yyy pronouns" it refers to what pronouns they prefer others use to refer to them. As in, Jeff Probst uses he/him, so calling him "her" is incorrect. Similar to Evvie, who prefers people use they/them to refer to them, and to not call them he, she, xe, zir, etc. And there are lots of people whose facial hair, mammary glands, shoulder/hip comparison, and fat/muscle distribution don't clearly indicate their sex. Clean-shaven men with naturally larger hips, flatter-chested women with above average muscle mass, and *gasp* people who go out of their way to look androgenous bc their gender identity doesn't align with their assigned sex at birth

Joe really deserved to win. Same thing as Rupert on his first season. The best player doesn’t always win because they’re seen as “too good” by everyone else. I’d love a robbed vs robber season where plays that were so insanely good but got voted out early verses the ones who were taken far because they would be easily beaten.
“If you’re going to be on Survivor, it won’t hurt to go back and study past challenges” is exactly why I don’t watch Survivor anymore. But I do like watching these videos though 😅
I think it's ridiculous when someone says that somebody's a cheater when they just memorized something that's already been done before. That's not cheating. It's just brilliant. It's like Michael Larson on Press Your Luck. He didn't cheat and he didn't hack the system system. He just had one hell of a good memory . That's not cheating. It's just smart.
What's funny about some of these puzzle challenges is that they're based off of children's puzzles with no real change to the solution. Like how do you not know tangrams?
