This is video #200. Wild. Time flies. Thank you all for being here. ❤️
Proud to have been here since 10K subs! Always nice to see the new vid notification from you, especially in lockdown 😂
I love watching your videos!
Already? I feel pretty old, Perdman.
Always get excited to click on your videos. Can’t wait to see this channel keep growing!
Started watching right after your first video. Easily my favorite UA-camr!
Mikayla just destroyed that challenge and the fact that she tried to help another team because she knew it would help her in the long run was really what showed how strategic minded she was.
She’s one of the most underrated women from the show
@@KikiCuberyessss
She really should have gone so much further!
And is why Jay voted her out soon after.
I love how she owned her getting out with the hidden advantage right next to her foot.
I'd be interested in seeing a reverse of this video series. Aka people who TRY to hack the challenges, but end up failing, losing a large lead, etc.
malcolm in survivor caramoan? he tried to dig up the bags quickly but couldn’t find them
Drew Christy anyone?
Sarah almost winning the fire challenge against Tony in S40 Winners at War but let her big fire burn out
@@Colbychristie
I don’t think that could’ve been avoided though, there was wind as a factor going against them along with limited supplies.
Joe w the holes in bucket challenge
Tom was such an incredible leader and strategist.
Tom is a freaking legend. I love that dude.
Was that the fit older guy w the white hair?
@@kiyohshi6827 yes !!!!!
@@kiyohshi6827 yes, that was king tom 😌 the one who carried Koror to victory
Witch season?
peridiam: [sees the views that his first survivor hacked challenges video got]
peridiam: *STONKS*
Peridiam: I think it's time for me to hack the UA-cam algorithm.
We’re just gonna milk it for all it’s worth 🤣
I mean that’s how content creation works, you just kind of repeat what works
I think Tom’s strategy of running laps in waters is more psychological than physical. Ulong slowly gave up and slowed down because it “appeared” that Koror iis catching up fast in shallow waters.
It was so cool that Debbie could take time of being an Electronics Engineer, Water Analysis Expert, Astronaut, Fashion Model, Red Lobster Server, and Balancing Expert to play Survivor.
Thanks Debbie!
What about that time Spencer Bledsoe literally memorized a puzzle from season 30, and was able to solve it in less than 15 seconds in season 31?
Which one was it
@@BlakeMasonNinja There was a challenge where all three tribes in S30 had to pick either a 5, 10, or 50 piece puzzle. The 10 was the tree one that showed up in Caramoan's final challenge. 50 was conceptually the easiest but had 50 pieces, and the 5 was the square that Spencer memorized.
i literally remember screaming at my Tv when he did this, my dad was also super impressed
He covered that one in another video
thats in p 5 i think
Smh Hali really failed that balance beam. Why didn't they just put Debbie on the balance? She's an expert!
I thought I was the only one! Hali was soooo slow. Debbie was a gymnast after all
She did gymnastics for 10 freaking years
@@hunterdvs6535 She's a doctor, veteran, brain surgeon, rocket scientist, taxi driver, arsonist. She's done it all.
@@darkclawbunny and she has an eight pack
She cost the team peanut butter and jelly!
"I think Debbie is just different. She's like a crazy lady."
I forgot about Debbie.
I was happier then.
I'm going to forget about her again.
Genuinely psycho and super delusional. I think she is hands down one of my least favourite players of all time.
Brad told her what to do.... yeah okay 😂😂 and she claims she whipped across the balance beam in 30sec 🤣🤣🤣 I love that even Tai couldn't stand her, and he sees the best in everyone
It's nauseating, its frustrating and I'm PISSED!
So funny tho i was in tears of laughter
DEAR GOD THESE JUST KEEP COMING
as they should.
And they don't stop coming
fed to the rules and I hit the ground running
didn’t make sense not to live for fun
Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb.
I still think the ultimate meta hack is Spencer memorizing an unused puzzle from the previous season and solving it almost instantly. (I had to look this up to make sure I didn’t just imagine this)😂😂😂 Also what are your thoughts about this type of meta gaming?
Wait what?
@@natedillow1725 ya he solved one puzzle in only a few seconds, which was much faster than any of the testers even tho it only had four or five pieces.
@@natedillow1725 in Second Chance.
Yeah I thought that one would be here, that was the best
@@ChaosRocket I don't think he talked about it but I remember seeing his show a highlight of that moment in the first of his survivor hack video sequence
Seeing Kelley just reminds me how hard so many of us rooted for her in Cambodia 😂. Gosh I wish there was two winners that season
Jeff: This is going to take some time.
Wentworth: Bet.
SOmetimes letting one person lead the whole thing is the best option of cooperation in these challenges. We often see everyone wanna be THE one figuring it out but it sometimes is just better for just one brain to focus on all and not multiple brains to focus on it separatelly, especially when the time is what really matters.
You see that all the time with puzzles. One person actually works on the puzzle and the other gathers pieces and passes them off.
I like can fondly remember the Survivor Africa SOS Challenge. It is unique and really ties up with the "Survivor" theme of the show.
For the second time a couple days ago, someone had solved a puzzle super fast by just memorizing it before coming to the game. Evvie is really proving to be a great player
Survivor needs to bring back Luxury Items, its missed to see all the random stuff people do with them.
That was actually gamed one time by someone who brought a journal and took an absolute ton of notes for a challenge later in the season. That's what caused them to stop doing those.
@@blueredlover1060 I don’t think so because O don’t know anyone else did it but the person you are mentioning is the winner of season 4 Vecepia and even after her there were luxury items like in Amazon and etc
@@blueredlover1060 that was season 4 and they had luxury items in 5 and 6 as well as other seasons as late as season 20 so i don’t think that’s the reason, especially considering colby used the texas flag to impact the game as a tarp in season 2 and they kept having luxury items
Thry use luxury items as a reward now
Has anyone ever actually asked Debbie about the whole balance beam thing like in interviews or anything?? I would love to hear what she says about it after watching it back lmao
I thought it was funny when Fishbach tricked Abi during the Folklore challenge in second chances. She was ahead of him before that, and he won the challene after.
If it was intentional, then yes. However, Fishbach said that it wasn't intentional iirc
@@HolyAlondite Haha, I did not know that! That's kind of funnier honestly.
@@naomibyrd35 My first viewing, I thought that was some good trickery too. I just rewatched the scene on Hulu (s31e11, 11m26s) and Steve does say "Oh" right after Abi left. I can see that as him changing his mind for an answer. So good though!
@@HolyAlondite i thought it was intentional bc right after she left he grabbed the correct one and said “sorry abi”
3:39 she’s using the “that’s the order you should complete tasks/homework/test problems” tactic and clearly that’s the right way to go
I honestly want that Palau challenge Hot Pursuit to appear again in the show. It’s a very good challenge, and it’s interesting how it would look or be modified in the modern game.
I think it came back in Caramoan
It also came back in Cook Islands and in Gabon (though on land instead of in the water)
@@bobjoe109 really? I do not remember that challenge in Gabon. I gotta go find that clip.
@@bobjoe109 just watched that one. It wasn't as finessed as tom's tribe tho I was dissappointed
It's a regular in the Australian Survivor
greatest series of all time
🐐
Can we be friends
When Tai called Debbie a crazy lady I nearly peed my pants
I would like to nominate the stacking challenge that Hannah, Adam, Ken, and David competed in. When Jeff said that they will win by stacking all of their pieces, or the highest tower after 30 minutes and Adam stopped stacking when others fell. It was clear that everyone else adopted that strategy but it was really smart!
What about in Philippines in the totem duel challenge when Malcolm threw his in the air and just knocked his opponent's off before his hit the ground? We might need a 5.0!
I hadn’t even thought of that. This is my favorite!
"I ain't finished playin' just yet..."
@@Peridiam I assumed so
@@Peridiam My man Using a Russell Hantz quote, let's gooo!!
@@Peridiam Yay!
On that first one, Big Brother did something similar and Caleb (of all people, yes) sat it out in an attempt to throw the comp and it actually made it easier for the other guy to win alone as opposed to 2 people controlling it.
Yeah, that's a good comparison. Sometimes challenges built for two people are just easier with one. So how do you work around that? Tell your partner to become a prop. 😁
Word is producers made Caleb sit out,so he couldn’t throw the challenge and Frankie would have a chance.
I would do Kelly’s “hack” always do the hardest challenge first when you have the most energy #personaltrainertip lol
I think it's also the benefit of being a returnee player. You think more outside of the box since you are more familiar with the challenges.
im little and there are some drink canisters at my job probably about 30-35 lbs when full and i always grab the largest heavy one first to bring to the cooler in the back cuz it makes the same or less feel easy.
Christian talking his opponents into submission in DvG
Yea, he was an absolute unit of brain games
Thank you thank you thank you for putting that series of clips about Debbie in at the end. Unbelievably annoying to watch because even if she was right in other cases, this was so clearly not one.
I used to only watch the challenges and tribal council when I was younger, didn’t care about “all that talking” between 😂
Lol I used to do the same thing
Same! 😂
mikayla is easily one of my favorite survivor player she was a comp beast and i wish she went a bit farther then she actually ended up going
Just recently watched Palau, and didn’t even notice the strategy for that challenge. Thanks for opening my eyes with this great video.
When he brought up the SOS challenge I thought he was gonna say Boran stripping down to their underwear was the hack
My first thought was "clothes have colors! They should use that!
hey, be fair, debbie has a great sense of balance, she found the time to balance all of her jobs!
Lol
Bro, I love the videos. I'm a mechanical engineer, I wanted to explain the buoy hack (this also applies to the push-pull challenge you show in part 5!).
This method is what's known as a fail-safe mechanism. If the thing supplying the force required to suspend the system of the ball and sticks fails (the strength of your arms) then as long as certain conditions are met, the geometry of the system can enable the system to tend toward equilibrium as the system naturally moves from a high energy state to low energy state (higher potential energy the higher the ball is).
This probably sounds like nonsense, but let me explain. With the poles angles downwards and the ball pinned between them, picture this: the ball begins to lower in the air. the ball contacts the top of the poles as it falls, which applies a downward force on the rod. The rod tip moves down. Now here is the trick. If you are able to keep your hand in a fixed position in space and not allow it to fall with the ball, then it will be as if the rod is "pinned" at your hand. Therefore it can't move straight down with the ball- it has to rotate about your hand. So then this downward force applied to the rods rotates them down and outward, away from the ball. But the rod tip is in a recess in the ball, so this essentially wedges the rod in place in the recesses in the ball- the top edge of the rod will bite down hard on the upper surface of the recess, applying a force inward and upward (this upward component is what is supporting the ball). The inward component is what is stabilizing the ball, since there is an equal and opposite force applied by default since there is another rod doing the same thing on the opposite side. This stabilizes the ball without you even trying. Your muscles don't need to recruit as many muscle fibers to maintain perfect posture, you just need to supply enough force to the rod to balance the system, and the internal forces of the system balance the ball.
The ultimate hack would have been to take advantage of biomechanics and hold the system at your arms low energy state (completely hanging as low as possible, elbows straight). Otherwise your bicep has to remain in tension to not support the force, but to resist the tendency for your forearm to rotate about your elbow joint. Your hand is what is supplying the force regardless, so holding with any bend at the elbow just increases the amount of work you need to do.
Debbie was indeed bumbling around, but also can we appreciate how stacked the other team was like holy crap.
i love this series so much, it’s so cool that challenges are finally getting the recognition they deserve
I have never seen or heard this show before your videos (weirdly the algorithm still suggested them) and I love it! Love the format, your analysis, and while I probably won't ever watch the show I still get to enjoy the best part of it!
Thank you for explaining the hack but then actually letting us see it as well. So many lists online of 'ten best ...' talk over what they are saying is awesome and we don't get to appreciate what they are actually commenting on, so thank you!
Penner pulling all the bags out of the quick sand so his subsequent tribe mates wouldn’t have to find them is a classic
I don’t see this one mentioned a lot but the challenge where yau-man had to use a bow and arrow and spear to shoot at some targets I think is really underrated
12:37 "it's got a u in there guys, what's going on?"
The rest of the world: my neighbour made food with good flavour and nice colour, he does a lot of hard labour but has a good sense of humour.
i watched the first ten seasons of this show and then basically never watched it again and forgot it all and watching this series has been a journey of fun trivia and then sudden ancient memories awakening from a slumber
I have never watched a full season but damn, this is like the 5th video in a row ive watched
For vid 5.0 - Shi Ann in AS1 (S8) increasing her endurance and winning immunity in the hold-your-arm-up-as-it's-chained-to-a-bucket-of-water challenge by not bending her arm and keeping it fully straight and locked at the elbow. This slowed down the fatigue on her bicep/tricep - technique was noted by Kathy in the DVD commentary. Also, in the following episode's immunity challenge (build a fire in a bucket, then raise it on a see-saw by filling a bucket on the other side with water) - Big Tom's technique of placing sticks across the top of the bucket to keep the fire burning high enough, buying more time to go back and forth from the lake to fill the other bucket with water.
I have not watched an episode of survivor since I was a child visiting my grandparents. I barely remember how this show works. And yet youtube recommended decided I need to see part 2, I have watched all the others, I can't stop. Its like the irl version of players outsmarting the DM in D&D.
i found ur channel because i binged the other three yesterday when I should've been working. so thank you deeply for keeping me from working today as well
Debbie is like a jack of all trades....a McGuyver in modern times!.
loving these videos! thank you for making them 😊
Thank you!
Watching these make me want to watch the seasons again.
I love your videos man. You could make a series of the hardest or the most impossible tasks in survivor too. I'd watch it.
I just found your channel today, and watched all videos about players hacking. And now a new video? I feel blessed.
That's funny that I sub today because I like your videos and you delivered a new one today. What a coincidence xDD love yall
Keep them coming man!
Love this series so much, keep it up 👍
Debbie must have forgotten to mention that she's also a cirque du soleil trapeze artist
Want to see Michaela back.
She was in "Survivor: Game Changers."
@@teamsteed1 I feel like her character arc wasn't completed on the GC though. Maybe the third time's a charm.
Wentworth was operating on only about 3/4 of her natural body weight during that challenge. Absolutely wild, she looked like a skeleton.
It's still a different way to get past that obstacle. She used her balance like was intended but used the planks of wood differently.
@@cjtrules1 Yeah, I'm saying she lost the most amount of weight in comparison to her size. Difficult to run and not lose out on all your stamina.
@@brettie Gotcha, also she's just fit so weight loss isn't the same as someone who is regularly muscular or big.
Thank you for posting the video.
Pregrats on 100k, and happy birthday Peridiam!
i've been absolutely binge watching a bunch of Peridiam videos, and you know what? i'm sold. i'm gonna start watching Survivor lol, glad to find a new show for quarantine
Another great challenge hack video! A lot of these hacks I never even thought about until you mentioned them. Keep them coming man.
love this series!
I've literally never even seen survivor but I just blew through all four of these and I need more
So far you have accomplished making Me care! Just started today going through your vids love it
You’re so close to 100k I hope you reach it soon!
love these,

That Palau Tom challenge is such a cool concept
hey bestie these r so entertaining ily
Sometimes I like to imagine Debbie's reaction to seeing Tai's "Debbie thinks she's the expect at everything, but Hali is better than her" on TV
keep these coming
the challenge at 6:35 still haunts me to this day. gotta be one of the worst challenges physically
A good start to a birthday is a Survivor Peridiam video. Thanks(:
Happy birthday 🥳
the most surprising part of this video for me was finding out how Americans pronounce buoy. 12:32
They say buoyant and buoyancy the same, but not buoy
Edit: fixed words
And Peridiam gave us sass about “ignoring” the u, when Americans ignore the letter u in words like colour every day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@nasecoo The entire world ignores the u, it’s silent letter. We, of USA (America is two continents with many countries), just drop the unneeded letter, and we moved on with our lives, lol.
Saying Boy and Buoy in the same pronunciation is beyond stupid, lol.
@@emiryan_ thanks for the info, my first thought was I wonder how they say "buoyancy". Weird.
I am american and I feel like I say it as a mix. Boo-y, not boo-ee. Idk how to write it but it's not boy and it's not boo-ee
Currently watching survivor from 1-40 cause of your channel. Already watched a few select ones but neve back to back but decided to do now.
love this! pls never wrap this series up :(
love this series
The real "Cant buoy me love" hack... Literally turning the challenge on its ear and holding the buoy vertically between the sticks instead of horizontally, that way its just balancing a buoy with dimples at the top and bottom.
ooo i just started watching these and now there's another!
The flying colors joke you made was underrated.
What about in the “attack zone” challenge from survivor all-stars when Rob was dominating the balancing portion of the challenge and his tribe decided to abuse the rule (where if someone fell, they would go back to the start) and all purposely jumped off the beam at the start of the challenge just so Rob could be the one to go out.
Honestly, maybe an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely LOVE Survivor Africa more than any other season ever. 👌 So classic!!
i love this series!
i love this series omg
hali looking down at debbie:
what is this lady doing?
just wanted to say im a super fan of survivor and enjoy your videos a lot
Oh man, more Debbie please!
Let’s go I am so hype for this
I was rewatching Cambodia and in the first solo immunity challenge, I saw Joe turn his body around on the plank. He changed where his body was leaning making it more stable so he only had to worry about balancing the ball and totally eliminated the struggle of the plank, and it shows how he swept the floor with everyone else. I thought it was a interesting somewhat hack but again it could have done nothing and obviously Joe is just really good so it could just be him.
Here before this gets 300k viewers.
my recommendations led me here and now I've watched all 4 and now I'm demanding for 5.0
Such a simple video concept but one that I love so much
Came across these videos by means of the google algorithm. But I love it. Competition is ALWAYS about smarts first. We've known this for many many centuries. For example the Icelandic Saga's don't talk about battle lies "oh and this guy broke this guy's neck and then he thrust his sword". No, they talk about the clever tactics leaders employed to deceive the enemy or to gain the advantage. This is also why our brains got better and better over time, because those with the smarts were winning, surviving.
I LOVE THESE
Can't wait for Survivor Challenge Hacks 12.0! :)
Well i just binged from video 1 to 4 and i am so hooked. I miss this show
How about Matty in Gabon, running on the maze and not in the maze...
Yaaaa keep uploading hahaha
