correct..i have been in work camps where the pot was filled and as food was removed to feed workers more cans were added to keep the pot full and ready to feed
If you think about it you could have a pot of stew of any kind going and if you could add some wild edibles to the pot be perfect. Just keep it going..

I amazing how many people will open a can of peas, corn, or whatnot and discard the water that comes off them, 'ewww, that's where the salt and junk is'. I don't always add it to what I am cooking, but I do like heating it up and drinking it like coffee. It's a change of pace that helps keep life from getting boring. Thumbs Up again, BTW.
In our family, this type of meal has been called "slumgullion" since the 1930's. Like this dish, it is a "stew" containing (1) any vegetables you have, (2) potatoes, rice, or noodles, (3) a rumor of meat, and (4) a generous portion of salt. This was part of a repertoire of what we called "poor cookin'", which refers not to the taste of the meal, or the techniques of its preparation, but rather to the financial straits of the cook. Since, there always seemed to be a lot of month left at the end of the money, slumgullion stew was a very familiar meal. 😎

I try to use the water from canned items because like you say it has the minerals, flavor, and it also has the nutrients. Love it!
yep from the veggies it is basicly veggie stock..so why not use the flavor..thanks for watching
A can of potatoes would be good in it as well.
