Bronco Raptor is really designed for high speed baja style off roading. There is no chance the wrangler could handle high speed whoops like the bronco can. It's all about what you want to do. Rocks go with the wrangler, high speed desert running Bronco Raptor.
I couldn’t agree more, thank you for watching!
Yeah, too much unsprung weight on the Wranglers. You need serious shocks. Even if you had great shocks , solid axles are more prone to bump steer than IFS (or IFS + IRS) . Just not the right properties for going fast. Independent suspension solves so many issues . Wheel hop , axle wrap , bump steer, better contact patch under load due to camber gain , etc.
I think a longer wheel base pickup probably does even better than the Raptor Bronco for high speed desert runs. Something like Ranger Raptor, F150 Raptor, or the Colorado Bison. I tend to think nothing beats the wrangler for slow technical trails.
Yes, you are right. The raptor is a rally car with little bit of goodies put together to tackle certain or to be said some basic amount of road obstacles(not including the raptors independent sus, they are something way awesome). I don't know why people put these two vehicles in a similar category. The rubicon is a complete serious off-roader
idk man, that swb of the Bronco won't do it any favours in the whoops, id take the Jeep any day.
I have test driven both vehicles. For extreme off roading, nothing is going to beat the 392. That being said, these vehicles will be used 99% as daily drivers. They will be the coolest looking vehicles in the school drop off lane. 😂. For a daily driver, the Bronco is the best option. For me, it was more roomy, smoother ride, could still accelerate very quickly when needed (not as fast as 392).
I couldn't agree more haha
the only part is the braptor is as wide as a f350 and too tall for my parking garage at work and at home haha. I wish I didn't live in the city to fully enjoy this thing
Great video actually demonstrating off-road capabilities. Thanks for making this.
I appreciate it, thanks for watching!
I love the comparison. I have both Mopar and Fords in my stable as well. Both have their merits and both are phenomenal!
I couldn’t agree more, thanks for watching!
Thank you. I no longer need to research a Ford Bronco nor do I need anything but a 392. Awesome content.
Haha I greatly appreciate you watching!
In the last like minute of the video you sounded like you was giving reasons at a livestock judging contest! Love the video !!!
Haha that's too funny, thanks for watching!
Haha ! Shows the jeep go over rocks . Shows the raptor going over pebbles . 🙌
😂😂 you need to see my most recent off-road video with both!
Bronco Raptor is the best. Why? It is a small hearted beast undoing the largest beast on some terrains.
It’s is superior in quite a few ways!
Yes sir you are correct
For slow rock crawling and difficult trails more power doesn't help much at all does it. You can shift down into low range and have tons of torque to get up most things even with a small engine. My guess is the weight savings of having the pentastar or the 2.0T probably has a performance advantage.
The 3.6 JLs I had in the past could do everything just as good off-road but it just wasn’t as fun haha
This was a very useful video. Thank you. Seems to me, the Bronco Raptor with its independent suspensions will be a smoother more comfortable road and highway and high speed desert driver than the Jeep Rubicon, but that Jeep with its solid axels front and rear will be the better technical rock climber off road. That said, the Bronco Raptor has a rear locker, and I think a front locker too, so locked, it will do very well technical off roading, just not quite up to the Jeep with its solid axels. For me, the Bronco Raptor would be my choice, assuming the luxury interior is there since that is important to me. But I hear your point, the Jeep is the best at what it does best, off road technical. I've been leaning towards an F150 Raptor in part for its buttery smooth drive, but I think the Bronco Raptor is actually narrower and shorter than the F150 Raptor, so it could actually be better as a daily driver and off road than the F150 Raptor. I"m concerned about how quiet the Bronco Raptor is though in the cabin; with all those removable doors and roof top parts. I wish the Bronco Raptor came with double pane acoustic glass all around, or at least the windshield and front row side windows. Dreams.
The Bronco Raptor is a great choice for what you are looking for but if you want a decently quite interior then you should really be looking at the F-150 Raptor! Thank you for watching!
Bronco all day! Would love to see stock vs stock.
That would be a fun comparison but this is as close as ill get to stock to stock on these. Bone stock the Braptor might just take the cake!
Would you mind sharing your wheel and tire setup on the Jeep?
38x15.50r20 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss MT tires and 20x12-44 XD 860 onslaught wheels
@ awesome thank you 🙏
Oh this is bad. You mean to tell me they had to mod a Jeep to compete with a stock Raptor...I'm done LMAO!
😂😂
Pretty sad when you have to cheat
Great video. Love the comparison. I’ve got a 21 wrangler Rubicon with a manual transmission. Trails look like the ones around here. I’m in West Virginia. Where are you from?
I’m in central TN!
Both are awesome machines!
They sure are!
That Wrangler donut at the start makes me want one ha-ha
Haha it has a bad habit of doing some fun stuff!
I find the Braptor as a whole package. It can do things that the 392 can do, got all the features and it can be a daily too. It's missing the V8 but is that a deal breaker? Hell NO.
I agree it’s is great at just about everything!
Just remember that v8s arent offered in any Jeeps, Dodges or Rams anymore
So the v8 argument is null as of this year, since neither offer one
I want both♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I would definitely go with the Jeep Rubicon for off-road use, but it’s a shame that they didn’t put the four to one trans case in the 392.
I couldn’t agree more, thanks for watching!
Wrangler is a beast! 👍
Yes sir, thanks for watching!
Yeah man jeep. Lol
Hey bro Are you lifted the rubicon? How many inches ? it’s superb looks man congrats
It is still on factory Rubicon 392 suspension!
jeep for me bronco for wife 😅
Agreed, that’s what I did haha
@@GodspeedZRZ
perfect 👍
@@russiaKGB wife's can't handle Bronco Raptors they are huge and a beast of a vehicle. Regular bronco goes to the wife and all Jeeps but the Raptor goes to the most masculine person in the household 😂. No way I'm letting my wife drive the Raptor while dwarfing my jeep when we park next to each other. 😂
@@menspurpose
v8 for boys come on
who
wants v6 even turbo charged
@@russiaKGB ok so what do you do when Jeep makes the new version and it's a v6? V8 are going to be obsolete then what?
Love the Wrangler👍👍👍
Me too, thank you for always watching!
Not a fair comparison since the Raptor is not tuned and has smaller tires. It would be nice to compare the disconeted bar suspension with the rigid axle in a fairer comparison.
Best I can do for a direct comparison haha
To be fair you need to do a comparison of a stock 392 and the Braptor. The small tires on the 392 might make a difference off road.
I don’t agree, it’s a given when you buy a 392 that you are putting a set of tires on it.
@@GodspeedZRZ you kept the stock tires on the Raptor and put much beefier mud terrains on the Jeep. They were also way wider, giving you a larger contact patch and therefore more grip on hard rocks. You intentionally altered the comparison in the Jeep's favor. Give the Raptor 39 MTs, they'll fit and make it even with the Jeep in the tread department.
How do you like owning both of them? Wife is tired of having to baby her Taycan turbo and was thinking of getting her a Bronco Raptor. She is used to be able to run over curbs and etc in her old jeep. Have a 392XR myself so not sure how much sense it makes to have two similar vehicles.
I really like it. They haver very similar capabilities and occupy the same segment in the market but they are still very different! I love them both for different reasons!
3:56 did you put the Bronco in 1 pedal drive?
I believe at that time I was using 4wL
I always think 22 psi is ideal unless you REALLY need lower. 22 psi is the lowest "official" pressure on the metric load inflation tables (although those are probably LT tires) , just knowing that at least in some special condition (mazda miata territory) 22 psi might stand a chance of keeping a tire from de beading is comforting. Even though its not a metric tire (probably) 22 psi on the bead is 22 psi on the bead.
I have heard the same, I usually don’t go below 25 unless really needed!
i have a gen2 raptor, i usually run 10-15psi. i am based in dubai so it’s very soft sand, and i have beadlocks so yeah.
@@unblasted7905 bead locks sure- run whatever PSI you want, basically.
It depends on the tire too. Of course if you have beadlocks , I would assume strong tires too.
My Cooper AT3 4s don't have much lug on on the sidewalls , so if I run under 22 , or even if Im at 22 sometimes, I'll slip in the mud when the sidewall touches the ground on a side hill , etc. So, for mild all terrains without much side lug , I don't recommend low pressure unless you're on flat land , with nothing sharp, and you're stuck. Sidewall lugs are even more important with solid axles because solid axles don't gain camber under load and are MORE likely to put a sidewall on the ground.
Good comparison video , where are you riding
Thanks for watching, Coalmont OHV park
What are the wheel sizes on the Wrangler?
20x12-44 wheels and 38x15.50 tires
The minute that you change anything on a stock vehicle but ESPECIALLY the tire height and width, it's no longer a valid comparison of the two vehicles. You put exceptionally different tires than factory onto your Jeep which will drastically change its capabilities in off road situations.
Anyone that buys the Jeep Rubicon 392 that intends to use it will immediately put 37s on it. The Raptor is already on 37s. Both on factory suspension. One is on 38s and one is on 37s the comparison doesn’t get any better for a real world test haha
What light pods are those on the hood?
They are Novsight pod lights
I love Jeep Wrangler Rubicon ❤❤❤❤
You and I both haha
I'm here to find out how you got 520hp man.😁. You said "fully tuned". What did ya do?
You need to go back and watch my tuning videos!
@@GodspeedZRZ Ok.. I did some digging. All I really found, which would have been nice to just told me was the PCM swap 🤦🏻♂️. That was less words than it took you to type your response. Lol. Crazy though it Voided the warranty. Good content man revvin'er til she pops. Better you than me. Lol. The speed limiter change I'd love to do, but 99 could still get someone jail time lol. And surprise ya don't have the air intake yet, after everything you've done. That for sure is my next purchase to get possibly little under 500hp and then a winch. Bro.. if you had the air intake I think,(to answer your question from the drag race video) that is what you could do I think to get you some more get'up n go.. beat that 103mph and time. 👍🏼
Jeep for me!!
Glad to hear it haha
Love the Wrangler. The Bronco just doesn't do it for me. I assume the doors and roof come off the Bronco? You could do a video comparing taking doors and roof off Bronco vs. Jeep. Time, tools, number of people, that sort of stuff. I haven't seen that yet on youtube.
That’s a great idea, I totally agree! Thank you for watching!
@@GodspeedZRZ TFL did a JK vs JL strip down to show the difference between the two with the JL the clear winner. How does the Bronco stack up?
*New* to the channel!
I’m pretty sure someone asked this question already but I just haven’t seen it in the comments yet.
What are the exact tire specs, brand and rims on your Wrangler?
That thing looks like a BEAST! 🦾
They are 38x15.50r20 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires and 20x12 -44 XD onsluaght wheels!
Bronco raptor is already a monster compared to jeep.
Once we get it dialed in it will really be cool!
Does the jeep have a spare tire?
I deleted it.
May Ford give us an option of a Bronco Raptor R just like in the F150s.
I would love to say yes but I’m unsure that it will ever come.
The Bronco Raptor all day long
Interesting take, glad to hear it!
Seems like the 392 was in 4Hi for most of the obstacles you did. Had to give it way too much throttle.
You are right but it’s more fun and sounds better for the camera in high haha
392 all day! But I’m also biased as I live in Colorado and have a 04 TJR, 96 XJ and have ordered a 24 392
Haha I love to hear it, thanks for watching!
yall getting lead by a nissan?
No haha, their might have been one on the trail at some point but I don't remember seeing one.
Got to mod the jeep to keep up lmao
You aren't wrong haha
Flares are hideous on the raptor. Also no more defender?
No more defender and the fenders are way better in person!
I love watching that Bronco wheel but JL392 holds people’s attention more, and makes obstacles look easier than they are. You should get some better suspension on the JL392 maybe some coil overs and 37inch by 12.50s AND Then! Start to mod the Braptor. That’s what I’d like to see
Oddly enough the 392 should be getting coil overs faster than you might think! It definitely needs them!
@@GodspeedZRZ nice can’t wait 👍 I think fox or king 2.5’s and maybe a hydronic bump stop would be perfect for you and a little more side wall in the tire
It's already molded out just to beat the Bronco. What a joke
You need a big ass lift for the 392 lol
I agree haha
@@GodspeedZRZ you don’t want to be scraping up that expensive 392 underneath that is not a cheap vehicle plus it will look insane lol
Jeep looks god and glide in their long live reputation , but for me they have a lame motor 3,6 pentastar pleg with oil leak on their sensor that they didn't address since their introduction ! plus jeep have a poor trailer pull weight ratio ! If you go for the V8 your way better but at what price ? very close to a F150 Raptor that you can do way more with it !
I can’t argue with that other than the 3.6L. I had great luck out of all mine, no complaints at all!
Bronco for me it can do everything the jeep can but faster lol
Except go down the drag strip haha
You really gonna compare these two with one being modded? Lol.
Yes haha
Cool video. I’ll stick w/ Wrangler. Just don’t like the look of the Bronco’s.
I can see that, thanks for watching!
Where is had to had⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️💩💩💩💩💩
?
❤❤❤❤jeep is very nice ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you sir!
I’ll take the Jeep, Broncos doesn’t do I thing for me!
I’m right there with you!
@@GodspeedZRZ I think the Bronco is nice but I’ve always been a Jeep guy! I’m 73 years old and my first Jeep was a CJ 5 boy was that primitive compared to my 2020 Rubicon Unlimited!!!
Well, I’ve been a “jeep guy” myself, through a few iterations and a couple of decades. Being open minded and genuinely curious….i tried out these new broncos. Driving them all hard, for extended periods….What I’ll say is that the normal broncos are just ok, would still rather a comparable jeep. But this raptor version is what I always dreamed I was driving w any jeep or other 4x4. Real world use, the northeastern roads here……pot holes that would make me slow down in my wrangle to about 5-10 mph, I was doing highway speeds. It’s ridiculous. As far as I’m concerned, apart from red light to red light, you can drive the raptor much faster than a 392. The chassis balance, stability and handling are just so much better. It’s a terrific rig. The regular ones, are not special like this thing is.
I'd take the Bronco Raptor over that Jeep in a heartbeat! I already own a 2 door Bronco with the Sasquatch package and it is a little BEAST off road! Can't even imagine how good the Bronco Raptor is with the additional suspension upgrades and wider stance etc!
Bronco is very nice
I appreciate the comparison, but comparing a modified to a stock just lost my interest instantly
Anyone that gets a 392 should and most likely will put larger tires on it.
Jeep - N1..
Glad to hear it!
