    As a manga reader, I'm glad people enjoyed Lady Nagant as a character. I think everything in her atracts the audience, her character design, her quirk, her backstory. Even tho she just appeared for 2 eps, I saw a lot of people wanting to see more of her.
    About the whole "talk no jutsu" meme thing, for me personally this makes more sense since Nagant WAS A HERO BEFORE. She KNOWS what true heroes meant to be, and she saw that in Deku. Also, Deku made very clear that she COULD'VE shot him when she shot Chisaki, but she missed on purpose. It's not like "deku convinced a full villain to turn good in 2 minutes"....she was never full evil to begin with. If this Deku's words were able to convince someone from the league of villains, I'd scream "that's BS" and think it was farfetched, but with Lady Nagant i don't think that was the case at all.
    Unlike villains, who are evil and SOMETIMES do good deeds, for me, she IS a hero, that deviated from the good path for some time, and Deku was able to reconect her to that path.
    PS: people who don't agree please be respectful LOL

      2 episodes was definitely enough to have a lot of sympathy for her. I get where she is coming from because she’s seen the ugliness of the job while the commission polished a turd. A lot of lies and corruption can break a persons spirit or have them fed up like Stain 👏🏾 glad we got to meet her

    One thing about Nagant’s backstory, Horikoshi wanted to do more for it, but simply didn’t have the time or the energy.
    He gave us additional details that were left out in a manga volume omake.
    The Chairwoman of the HPSC(Hawks’ boss) didn’t approve of her predecessors methods, she didn’t like how he played fast and loose with people’s lives. Thus why she didn’t have Nagant executed, but instead to make sure the information would never leak, she had her thrown in Tartarus.
    This was just a small fraction that Horikoshi wanted to write more of.

    Notice how in the flashback, Lady Nagant wrapped her arm in bandages, but after she's recruited and was looking at the star, she took off the bandages. I think that's why the job broke her, because I bet she's ashamed of her Quirk, born with a murderous weapon as her arm, so she was really excited and grateful when the Safty Commission told her "Let's make society better with that right arm of yours", to finally get a chance to use her Quirk for good, but then her spirit was broken by the fact that she's still just a weapon at the end
    At her core, Lady Nagant's still the same kid the Safety Commission recruited, trapped by her dream and hope of what a hero should be like, and was disappointed by how peace was attained and substained in such unheroic fashion. To quote Monoma, "The paradox is that to become the heroes we long for, we must do things unbecoming of heroes, and drift apart from our ideal. The hopes and dreams we had as a child, now grows heavy as burdens, it's almost like a curse." Lady Nagant herself told Deku not everything are sparkling stars, yet contradictorily she can't handle a hero's job isn't all flowers and sunshine
    Let's not forget Lady Nagant came from a pre-hero era, she even said in her time "heroes" are just how people called the vigilante. Time has changed, nowadays heroes has to go through study and exam to earn the job, and there's layers after layers of laws restricting heroes, as well as holding them accountable. When Lady Nagant asked the chairman "After the hope's maintained, what comes next?", this is the "next", society and laws do improve, her job is to keep the facade until the world has time to improve so one day that facade can actually come true

    Deku at least looking for Overhaul to show the capacity for remorse for his actions with Eri (not even necessarily meet her, but at least be apologetic towards her like he is to pops). In manga - "If you can direct that same energy toward Eri". If there is any humanity for that.
    If he can't do that, Deku doesn't budge... He genuinely dislikes Overhaul, you can hear it in his voice, even if he has a possible empathetic offer for Overhaul to see his pops.

    My favorite part of this is the darkness of what Deku says to Overhaul. It's completely void of empathy and emotion for him, just how Eri would be best helped by the situation. And no hesitation to hold that against him.

    it breaks my heart to see Deku so tired and weary looking there at the end. This poor kid has the fate of Japan and maybe the world on his shoulders and even with the other top heroes supporting him, thats still a huge and heavy burden to bare. I cant imagine what his mother is feeling right now, she probably has no idea where he is right now. I have never read the manga so these are just my speculations and hopes but I have a feeling that certain students from UA will seek Deku out to support him at some point. You cant tell me Bakugo would be ok just sitting on the sidelines, plus Shoto has unfinished business with Toya and Endeavor so you know he'll be around at some point. I just cant wait for what I know will be a truly epic conclusion to this story!!

    Fun fact
    The author Horikoshi has said he originally planned Nagant's story to be a volume long which is about 10 chapters but in the manga it ended up being only 3 chapters. The reason he gave was because he was so tired he didn't feel he could keep doing it. His health has gotten really bad to the point in a recent author's comments he said he wishes he didn't have a shoulder the way his shoulder is in constant pain.
    He has said he would like to do a separate nagant spin-off if he has time and energy

    I hope Lady Nagant survives and joins the heroes' side. She's too cool to appear for only two episodes. Also, I may be the biggest simp for Overhaul in the world, but how does my man have such a great upper body regimen while not having any arms? I wanna see him redeemed too and get his quirk back. That would be so clutch going up against AfO and Shigaraki and all the other countless villains right now.

    I’m right there with you - I could gush FOREVER about Izuku Midoriya!
    I know I have a “Type” when it comes to my favorite Shonen protagonists - Deku, Tanjiro (Demon Slayer), Yuugi (Yu-Gi-Oh), Armin (Attack On Titan). These sweet, sensitive, empathetic young boys/men who step up when it counts. Being in touch with their emotions doesn’t preclude them KICKING ASS when the moment calls for it. I can’t get enough of these types of characters!
    Doing my best to be careful (manga reader, here) - up to this point, Deku has chosen to take on this burden of being All Might’s successor with no thought as to what that really means. And even All Might had no idea of the weight he placed on that boy’s shoulders. I think he feels SO responsible for all the trials he’s going through, especially because through all the 40+ years he wielded OFA, he NEVER had the experiences with the vestiges that Deku has. After that started happening, he hasn’t been much help because OFA had evolved beyond what even he’s had to handle with its base strength. No wonder he’s dedicated the rest of his life to standing with Deku as he handles this emergency, with the help of Hawks, Best Jeanist, and Endeavor.
    I just hope that our “Baby Boy” doesn’t lose himself in the darkness as he deals with All For One (the bastard!).

    All might was a great man and he did many great things and he was the perfect person for Deku to look up to but he was so busy saving people and trying to make society better that the outcasted people of society weren't looked after and properly handled and the way society worships and idolizes heroes they all came together and end up creating villains in some form or another. The way deku can become the greatest hero is by at least trying and doing what he can to understand not just the heroes but also the villains. Try to make a world where the outcome is something for both sides and not just making it a thing where its simply just "heroes vs villains". So I do like where the creator is trying to go in this arc with deku wanting to understand people and not just see the pretty glamourous side of heroes. The world isn't just black and white.

    • @DeltaDrifter2201
      @DeltaDrifter2201 Рік тому

      Basically all might is the perfect stepping stone in order for deku to rise up. What all might did was very very important but the world needs someone to look at everyone and not just be the "hero in the spotlight" and "symbol of peace".

      @Jjop017 Рік тому

      The sad part is I feel like All Might wanted to be an example for people, to do their best and help everyone, but people never got the message. They were kind of like how Bakugo initially saw All Might. In a sense they saw him win and thought that is what made him a hero, but never tried to emulate his teachings.
      At the start of the series we saw All Might’s first training for Deku was to clean up a beach and he preached how heroes should help to community and how it gets overlooked because it is not glamorous. For All Might no plight or crime was too small. Little acts of heroism weren’t as glorious so people likely ignored that or got the wrong idea that heroes can handle everything. That is sad because we saw how that mindset lead to people ignoring Tenko when he was clearly distressed.
      It is sad that All Might wanted to bring hope to people in dark times of AFO’s rein and despite everything he did people just didn’t get it and got the wrong message from his actions. They just relied on one person to do it all and that was so unfair to him. Look at how much he sacrificed and now we have some people defacing his statue by saying he isn’t here. 😢
