- I have cancer. Unfortunately in this video I bring the bad news that I have recently been diagnosed with cancer. In this video explain why I’ve decided to share my cancer journey this on our channel, how I found out I have cancer and where my cancer is located. There is still a lot I don’t know about my cancer. I will be sharing updates of my cancer journey on our channel while I get treatment.

My mom had the very SAME cancer when she was 46...she lived to be 92...treatment was difficult BUT, that was many, many years ago.... science has come a long way...

My dad had this same cancer. He kept complaining about something in his mouth and finally went to the dentist. Btw folks, when you go to the dentist, please make sure they check your mouth and tongue thoroughly. They’re supposed to do this routinely but most never do. I’m praying that you fully recover 🙏🏼.

My son was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia after getting his wisdom teeth out. His gums became so inflamed that you could barely see his teeth. He also had enlarged lymph nodes under his chin. We went to the ER, and his WBC count was 108,000 when it should have been between 8,000 and 10,000. He went through 7 months of intense chemo. He had to be inpatient for a month during each of the 5 rounds, because the chemo killed his immune system each time. That was in 2019. He was 19 at the time. He's now been in remission for 3 years and is marrying his longtime girlfriend this summer. Good luck to everyone going through a tough diagnosis. God bless you all.
You can beat this my friend. I went throught the same thing back in Feburary. Stage 4 HPV+ Squamous Cell. 7 weeks of radiation and 6 weeks of Chemo. Statred March 15 and finished May 3. I was back to work in July. Good luck.
I had tongue cancer in 2020 (just after we started travelling as well), I had an 8 hours surgery, 6 weeks of radiations an 1 year of immunotherapy. I'm not going to lie, it sucked, but now I'm one year out, I speak and eat normally and we started traveling again. I've met a lot of young people with the same cancer in the last year. We all went through it and we came out stronger then before. Be strong. It's a hell of a journey but one day you will look back, and it all will be in the past.

Hi David, I have recently been through what you are going through. I had cancer of my left tonsil and metastasized over to my lymph nodes. You will get through this. The treatment is brutal while the rate of beating this cancer is extremely high. Keep your heads up. You have a fight ahead of you but it is one you will beat. Feel free to reach out any time

Hang in there. Your going to have happy and sad days, it's all normal. I was 23 when I was wheeled into the emergency room back in 1980. The doctor examined me and told me I either have leukemia or some other rare autoimmune disease. I spent the next 3 months in and out of the hospital, hooked up to iv's to keep the blood in my body as I had no platelets to clot my blood. I'm still here at 65 to talk about it. You can do it too!
Can I ask if you had to have a blood transfusion?

My mother used to say "don't borrow trouble" meaning don't dwell and think the worst because most of the time things turn out just fine. My cousin had throat cancer which spread to his lymph nodes and he is now fully recovered and cancer free. Be optimistic. We all wish you the very best. You will be fine. The C word is always very scary. Sounds like you have Human Papillomavirus (HPV) throat cancer like my cousin had. They say if you are going to get cancer this is the one to get since the cure and success rate is in the 90%. Stay strong. You will be fine.
My brother just had 18 hour surgery to remove oral cancer from his tongue. His radiation starts Monday. You got this! Stay positive!

I just finished treatment for cancer. In the beginning I went through every kind of emotion and thought process. I would lay in bed day and night and stare at my phone trying to read everything I could, it only made my anxiety worse. I had to become a mental Soldier. Be strong, never give up on hope. You can get through this. You will get through this. Each time something was thrown at me I rolled with the punches. You can do this! Sending you positive energy.

I'm a 20-year cancer survivor. Went thru surgery, chemo and radiation. It was hard. I'm grateful to be alive and thankful for the great medical care I had and still have. It's scary every time I go in for my yearly checks, wondering if something will come back, and so far so good. I'm hopeful that you will get thru this and recover. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Yes ,that is exactly what I had, mine was stage 4 , I went thru heck let me tell you,but they did get it to go on remission,then 10 years latter it came back! Worse the 2nd time around! I won’t tell you my results but you can survive young man ,I’m new here but will watch you from now on. Any questions I might be able to help! My wife is going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy for a very aggressive uterine cancer. She had a radical hysterectomy and lymph node dissection. She looks great with her bald head. So far very little side effects from the treatments. Once the initial shock settled in, we now spend a lot time laughing and enjoying life. The prognosis is looking good. Hang in there my friend, stay positive! 😊🇨🇦

You are a courageous young man. Please remember it’s okay to feel however you do. I know you want to keep things positive and live life as normal, and my pray would be that you can. That said, you will have high highs and crushing lows as you travers the terrain of this particular journey. Cancer is a disease that haunts not only its victims but also their kinfolks. Keeping a balance will require a gimbal of faith, whatever that is to you and yours. May you have angels encamped around you to strengthen and heal you. Continue harvesting those priceless gems for the treasure chest of memories.
In 2014 my partner was diagnosed with stage 4 base of tongue cancer. He started treatment on his 59th birthday. He had eight weeks of chemo radiotherapy. They hit this hard but it is curable and he is cancer free now. I know just how you and your wife feel right now but you really will be ok. Eat lots whilst you can as at some point you will lose your taste and enjoyment of food. I think that even since my partner had his treatment the radiotherapy is much more targeted and saliva glands are less damaged. I think they have also reduced the amount of treatments you need, so hopefully you will have fewer problems. My partner always said he felt fortunate that he had tongue caner rather than pancreatic as he had a chance with tongue cancer and he was right. His consultant said ‘this is curable’ and it was. It will be tough for a while. My partner couldn’t have a peg fitted as he was too far into treatment before he got the appointment for it but it was the best thing as he had not choice but to force himself to drink and after a while, to eat. You look really healthy and if anyone can do it, you can. I wish you all the best and should you ever need to ask anything I am happy to answer. This is tough for your wife too, I can vouch for that. It is hard watching someone you love go through this but know that you will come out the other side. My partner started his treatment on March 17th and by the summer the world seemed a brighter place again and we took ourselves off to Italy. You will travel again too. Have faith. You have so much in your favour.

I literally have lost all my childhood friends to various cancers. All non smokers!! WTF is going on people?!! What are these corporations dumping in our air,food,water,etc !? I just came across your page. I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Four years ago my sister was diagnosed with the same cancer. It started with a sore on her tongue then spread to her lymph nodes in her neck. She went to see specialist and they said she was stage 4. She refused treatment and passed away 6 months later. I was so angry at my sister because it was treatable but she didnt want to have to go through all the treatment and have her die from it anyways. This was not what the drs said whar would happen. My sister had bad habuts if smoking and drinking alcohol and she wasnt willing to give them up. She was 52. Im so glad you have a different look about it. Stay positive you can survive this type of cancer! I will pray for your recovery and family. Best wishes.

I have not seen your channel before but just came across this video. I’m very sorry about your diagnoses. Your very brave and you have a brilliant attitude. It’s great you are sharing your story, I am a nurse and I know that it is really hard for those who are in the same situation as you to get information, google can be very daunting and Drs do not always explain things in a way that relates. You also have so much going on during the Drs visuals the information doesn’t always sink in. So it’s great that you are sharing from a personal perspective which is easy to relate to. I sounds like you have a great support person beside you in your wife! Good on her she sounds like the sort of person you need ! :) to just share my experience with my father and of course all cancers are different and positions are different etc, but my father had cancer on his tongue, lymph nodes and into his jaw. He was around 45 at the time, he had head and neck surgery, the cancer was invasive and he had part of his tongue removed, his jaw, his lymph nodes, portion of his throat ( they saved his vocal cords) plus I think his mastoid muscle or part of removed. It was a big surgery and was a bit rough on him, he then had radiation. He recovered and no cancer returned. He lived till his early 70s. I hope this gives you some hope that others have gotten through xxx

I was diagnosed with positive hurtle cell cancer I’m so lucky to say that it was contained and I needed no therapy I have got a post nasal drip and bad throat all the time, I am going back to ENT in February to have checks which I have to do.
I think you are doing g a great thing and you will be helping people, I lost my partner with liver cancer after a two year two month battle.
He was also so very brave and I miss him so much this is to put you in a downer because his was always untreatable whereas it looks like you have the best doctors x

Many prayers. My diagnosis Anniversary is coming up in February. Breast cancer, 2 types, at 35. I'm 6 yrs out now. I think working during treatment (modified of course) really helped my mental health. You would be amazed at what they can treat. I'm so glad you have a great support system. ❤

My niece had stage four in the same place...after radiation and chemo for months. she was in agony from the radiation with 2nd degree burns in her esophagus. She was fed thru a peg in her belly. The GOOD NEWS .... she is cancer free for 10 years. My prayers for you and your family....

I like you was busy working. We worked out that I had the cancer growing for about a year. It will be hard but we get through it. Has it been caused by HPV
I had my cancer in 2012. I went on a trial so lymphnodes were left in.
The treatment for me was harsh. But I'm still here today. Eat your fave foods before treatment as you may not be able to eat at points during treatment.
If you have Proton treatment it's a much better treatment, they did not have it in England when I had Cancer. Proton is more targeted treatment.
You are young and you will have a full life ahead of you x

God bless you through this journey hes taking you on. Years ago I also found a lump on my neck. My voice was husky and I couldn't eat or sleep. Thank goodness I had the lump removed and the biopsy was ok. Later I ended up with a goiter and then did radioactive iodine. I'm on thyroid meds now and still have some trouble but nothing like it was. I know God Is with you, you can do this!! Just found your videos this morning. Love to you and your family

Radiation itself doesn't hurt but boy what a sore throat! Take care of your skin as well. Prayers. I cried a lot too. I wouldn't let them tell me what stage I was in. I didn't want to know.

Hi David and to your lovely family as well. I've just found you and signed up. Though I've not had cancer myself, every one of my other four family members has. My Dad, Mum and two sisters. They are all still here and thriving. I work in a field where I speak with many who have had or have cancer. I know one of the most important and common things I am told is that everyone just wants to be treated as they are, just themselves as they ever were, they just happen to also have cancer. YOU are still you. You are here and you deserve to live your life to the fullest and as you would do. There is a saying by Charles Spurgeon; "Begin as you mean to go on, and go on as you began." I keep this quote close to my heart and always share it. None of us know what is around the corner and the percentage of those of us who either have cancer or will get cancer is not low. You are not alone and I am so happy to hear you went back to school after the hardest news anyone receives. That shows your determination and understanding that a burden shared is a burden halved. There is so much hope, so much. I just wanted to say that and to also say I have subscribed and will join the rest of this lovely group in supporting you and learning of your amazing travels! Wishing you hope and peace in the New Year to come. T

@@TheWorldnUs That's spot-on, David! It isn't a death sentence. We are here to live. And we live each day the best we can. It can be tempting to try and see round corners and over mountains, but we are not quite magical enough for that. Instead, the best we can do is make the most of the moments. There is so much life inside each of these moments. I know of many people who have had cancer and they tell me it turned out to be the start of an even bigger and richer life.
