I was raised watching the Gaithers. My mom grew up loving The Bill Gaither vocal trio, back in the 60's/70's. Mark Lowry joined in the 90's and his stuff was a major part of my childhood. He wrote "Mary, Did You Know?" which has become a staple of Christmas albums even for secular artists. His song "I Can Eat It All" became my family's Thanksgiving song. He's actually pretty Grated funny when he's not preaching.
34:12 OH GOD when i heard "carp lowry" i thought "huh. any connection to mark lowry? ..nahh" but THERE HE IS. as a pretty sheltered kid, weird al was my gateway to a lot of pop music. at some point, my mom got me a mark lowry cd, because you know, he's like weird al but with a christian bent. decades later, i still remember some of the songs. so cringe 😭
The song at 5:07 definitely has electric guitar. It is plucked with fingers and with a "twangy" sound, very popular in country music. However the fish does not pluck with fingers but is strumming. There can be a strummed electric guitar somewhere in the mix along with strummed acoustic guitar but it surely is not one of the top elements. The clips are so short and i don't really want to start diving any deeper, but the plucked electric guitar is third or fourth most important elements in the song. You could argue that you remove about everything else but vocals and that guitar and it would still be almost the same song.
Maybe I'm reading into it too much, but I find it telling that the only thing the creatures can say about the goose winning "pond president" is "well, she does look better on the poster". To me this is dripping with the misogyny that we get in commentary on real politics like "if she just smiled more" or "she's just so bitchy".

All that said it dud my soul good watching it being roasted into oblivion
Can you do a video or two on Great Miracles Avenue? He's made a tone of videos that I just find hard to believe.
But rock and pop music is the devils music. They pick and choose.
No, you’re not “reading into it too much”. It’s almost as though that’s they think a pretty face would be the only reason to vote for a female candidate. There was never any discussion of the issues facing the community, in this case the pond, and what, if anything, she would have done to improve conditions and how she would have worked with the community to achieve that.

At least they didn't give the geese teeth.
Miss Gladiola reminds me of the old chiaroscuro illustrations from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There
I was like, "Who tf is chiaroscuro? Those are Tenniel illustrations!"
Then google did me a quick learnin.
@@AbsurdlyGeeky 😂🖤 It's a word I learned late in life and it makes me happy knowing it, I also like it because it describes most of my favorite art from classic D&D books
You said it was called Gaither Pond, and I thought, oh like Gaither Vocal Band, what a coincidence. Then they started singing and I realized there was no coincidence.
This will definitely make some good source material for analog horror videos! Lol
So Emma, When are we getting the life cycle of Spore creatures from Gaither's Pond?
I think the carp saved that goose's life by coming clean... they were so close to suggesting a way to "solve" the problem...
this is even more scary than the "Finding Jesus" fish cartoon you did a while back....
The quality of this series is like Ratboy Genius if Ratboy Genius wasn’t peak
I think this is your funniest video ever. Laughed all the way through.
Cheers.
Yes! More of these would definitely be fun--even more so probably if you could include the songs. You sure had me laughing like a loon many times throughout this video, Emma.
Also, NEW music for the Patreon Patrons! Wow! I may still never forget the old music, but this is at least a step in the right direction.
Thank you, Emma, as always!
People post lies on the internet?! That's terrible!!
If you don't know what that's from, consider yourself lucky.
Isn't it ironic that the people that made this cartoon, talk about how making things up and publishing it can have all sorts of unexpected and unfavorable outcomes.
Roll forward 20 years since the last cartoon was made, and people very much like the makers of this cartoon (I might be wrong about these people, but I have a better than even chance of being correct) now peddle in conspiracy theory, traffic in all types of slander and fake news, and refuse to accept any piece of reality that they are even remotely uncomfortable with.
How the world changes, eh?
That said, they do seem to rather like the idea of a president for life.
Which tracks with the beliefs of these types of people.
So maybe the apple didn't fall quite so far from the tree.
Part of this looks like Minecraft and the other looks like something a kid would make in Blender
I appreciate you so much for adding accurate subtitles!
