I am visiting LA for work and passed you on the highway this passed Monday! I saw you from the back and was like WTF is that as I look at it from the back! Glad I found your video!
I think the S197 is a great platform to try and work from. The prices are getting very reasonable for used ones that run, and downright cheap for non running examples. I'd love to try and adapt this tech to an older non-computerized vehicle. There's a Tesla powered '66 Impala out there, along with other classic Mustangs and such. Probably not something I can afford to do, but do you have any intention of creating a controller for say the Nissan Leaf system? I would think all the components of the Leaf could be dropped in a Corvair, Dart/Valiant, Falcon, Hornet, or other compact and be just fine for the vehicle's weight.
The Leaf drivetrain is a great solution for lower power applications. Many others have asked for it and it’s on our radar for VCU support in the future.
Does this interface with any of the cars original CAN systems? It seems like it has all been removed from the shot at 13:02 - what does that mean for safety systems on the car, e.g. air bags? Are they removed in this case? Will you be able to interface with those systems in the future?
330hp and 400#ft is actually a bit more than what the 4.6 ran in the factory mustang ran. I'd be curious to see how they would run against each other in a race! If I did this swap on my mustang, I would still need a T-Shifter. I just can't do buttons in an S197
Just wanted to say it's so damn cool aem and now Holley high voltage are supporting ev swapping elktromodz.😎 Also shout out to roadster cycles channel who is the guy that originally swapped this testang. He has another testang done with a model 3 drive unit. His channel is worth a look for sure. 👍🏻
We are putting together a video that will answer this question! Be sure to hit the bell so you are notified when new video are released. We expect to have it out next month.
IS THIS THE SAME 2007 BLACK FORD MUSTANG GT CONVERTED TO ALL ELECTRIC BY ROASTERCYCLE ABOUT 2 YR.S AGO?...HE MENTIONED THAT HE USED A AEM CONTROLER BACK THEN!...SO I AM ASSUMING THAT YOUR NEW AEM CONTROLER IS MUCH IMPROVED FROM 2 YR.S AGO! I HAVE A 2008 FORD MUSTANG V6 BASE MODEL WITH AUTO TRANS, I WAS WONDERING DO YOU GUYS DO ELECTRIC CONVERSIONS?...I AM IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHERE ARE YOU GUYS LOCATED?...I WOULD LIKE TO USE A TESLA P100D ELECTRIC MOTOR!...WHAT WOULD BE THE COST TO CONVERT MY 2008 FORD MUSTANG COUPE V6 TO A TESLA P100D ELECTRIC POWERED MUSTANG USING YOUR RECOMMEND EQUIPMENT?...THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS! 😇
You can download a list of the high voltage components we use from the link in the video description, and our product info is on our website at www.aemev.com!
Thanks for the video - good stuff! I've seen the a number of videos where the VCU200 is used in combination with the Tesla LDU and replacement inverter board, but have not seen any info regarding the small drive unit. Do you guys have a solution for controlling the small drive unit?
Now this is what the Mach E should've been!
Or the project lithium 6speed manual s550 ev swapped stang from sema a few year's ago. 🤔
You can always Roll Your Own.
Jack did a fantastic job converting the Mustang to EV....👍
As someone who owns a heavily modded 2008 gt, I find this to be amazing haha. Great work guys
We also want to know price for this complete package as seen on this car as is. Thank

Well this is awesome.

Awesome Job and you do a awd system as all
Hello Nate, Thanks for the details. System diagram at 11:10 really helps! When will product spec of BMS-18 module be up on AEM EV site?
The AEM BMS-18 is nearly ready for release. There’s certainly going to be more videos covering VCU/BMS features so watch out for those.

Any indication of when the control board will work on a sport unit? Or are sport units not worth supporting for some reason?
Sport LDU support is nearly complete and will be released in the near future.
Approx cost to complete the entire swap is?? Please answer
Yeah Nate! Awesome car! Great work!

We ran it against a Bullitt, and a Tesla P Car with a Sport Drive LDU. Enjoy! ua-cam.com/video/Xl7kkwK7bk0/v-deo.html

He has another testang done with a model 3 drive unit. His channel is worth a look for sure. 👍🏻
What's his channel name? Typed Roadster Cycles and got nothing.
The channel is Roadstercycle or you can type in Tesla swapped Mustang
hey can you make a project of two cars of Dodge Challenger 2010 and Camaro of 2008 the two are going to do in Tesla swap how of Mustang GT v6 2008
The AEM board satisfies the oem ecu's looking for an ICE to control and sense?
Great job,
What battery modules are you using?
We are using hybrid electric batteries from a minivan.
Can Aem do a series on tuning with the software
how much does the vehicle weigh
It is 3600 lbs on the scales, about the same as when it rolled off the lot.
That's crazy, great job ! i just wonder how much will it cost for someone to make this motor swap happen on their Mustang...

@@AEMpowerTVelectronics great thanks !
Did you do the modifications or just added some controls units .

How much did this cost. I really wanna do my own testang
We will have a more detailed overview of build costs very soon!
Great video!
This is awesome! Does the VCU have the ability to monitor wheel speed sensors and limit torque if slip is detected?
Wheel speed based traction control is a forthcoming VCU feature.
i would love to make my 2010 mustang into a hybrid. not ready for just EV conversion, still want the flexibility. anyone can help?
F-in awesome. Gotta get me an electric hot rod!
aaaand...how much did it cost?
How much is the system going to cost

what Battery Voltage do you have with those 6s6p modules? Is it possible to add any DC fast charging to it?
It is a 400V system and we will be adding fast charging to the vehicle.
Are you come in India
So can your BMS work on a model 3 battery?
They will work on almost any Lithium Ion battery pack.
Is your mustang faster than @evwest m3 that a race I want see
That would be fun! Hopefully EV West will come out to Holley High Voltage this year and we can set up a match race.

The SDU is on our validation list, but we have not started R&D yet.
Keep it up!
shut up and take my money
