Cube draft by Kenji is one of my favorite show to watch! This is where his mind shines so brightly! It's always a treat to watch. spoiler: and then he got passed the oracle! lol iconic
BTW nummy, teferis plus 1 says that it taps the chosen permeants you DON'T control so instead of skipping over the creature ability, you can taps your opp's creatures.
Cube/power formats will probably be somewhat overwhelming until you can read cards and say "ok, this card that I've never seen before basically causes an effect like [other card name that I understand how it works]". After playing magic off and on for a little over a decade I'm finally getting relatively proficient with cubes so just be patient with yourself.
Haven't watched the video but i'd be VERY surprised if I didn't see the following: Sublime epiphany Lutri Mizzyx Mastery Oracle of the alpha Key to the archive Scholar As many 2 mana ramp cards as possible And OH BOY im hyped
It’s interesting that at the beginning you said ramp artifacts like mind stone are probably most associated with you for cube, in my mind it is magma opus and sublime epiphany
Show of hands....who is 0% surprised to see Oracle of the Alpha as the thumbnail? Bet there is some Magma Opus, Discover the Formula, Sublime Epiphany, Midnight Clock, Ral, etc shenanigans in our future....every video 😅😅
Already had a base blue grixis deck you would have been proud of nummy, chandra out in final trophy game, end step doubling up magma opus to dome opp for 8 and create 2 4/4s, then the 7 mana sphinx bringing it back on my turn to double it up again. EZ 7-0 lol
33:16 by playing the sundown here instead of field you could have copied field of the dead with poq on the following turn. Not that it would have affected a ton but rip no double field
I did double Alpha in my first draft yesterday but I think casting it a second time was a mistake, the 10 mox + 2 lotus gave my deck too much mana sources, which is not compensated by the other power cards (after you add the first copies)
40:12 You gotta stop calling things Time Walk. For a while I thought Time Walk said “put target land on top of its controller’s library” or something like that
In old school MTG language, a "Time Walk" effect refers to anything that can make the opponent essentially waste their next turn, which is a roundabout way of saying you get to take an extra turn over your opponent. For example, the classic card "Plow Under" was sometimes referred to as the "Green Time Stretch" because it "double Time-Walked" the opponent by forcing them to draw and play two lands off the top of their library, effectively giving you two turns of development over the opponent. Obviously, actually taking an extra turn is the real definition of "Time Walk" but there's lots of MTG slang that plays with the meaning and effects of cards.
This is pretty funny actually. I guess sometimes these little things are taken for granted. I mean it's P9, this card is so ubiquitous through the game's history, you should really understand what it is.

@44:00 screaming "Just discard Opus!" Getting stuck on your original line is the worst and we all do it.
at 40:18 you missed a chance to do all 5 modes with epiphany !
BTW nummy, teferis plus 1 says that it taps the chosen permeants you DON'T control so instead of skipping over the creature ability, you can taps your opp's creatures.
I started magic this year a few months ago and man is this format overwhelming lol
It’s hard for anyone at first, don’t beat yourself up if it takes a while to get there!!
That’s about how I feel. I started late last year and I’m finally starting to recognize cards and keep up a little better
High power cubes like this are definitely less forgiving than other draft formats
@@Alaskan007I started drafting with Time Spiral. I have sympathy nor empathy for any newb on MTG.

And of course oracle of the alpha
Intentionally not taking cards because you’re bored winning with them is wild.
Drafting vicariously through Kenji as I save up my gems for MH3
Father Son battle, such drama! An amazing draft filled with emotion!
The son finally surpassed the Father! Such a young talent!
The man who lives on Arena just discovered Poq 😂😂😂 that was awesome to see your reaction to a very broken Brawl Commander 😂
cube drafts will always remain on top! nothing I love more than multicolored power decks

at 33:30 if you had held fotd you could've gone pok into double fotd the next turn. would've been pretty nuts
Already had a base blue grixis deck you would have been proud of nummy, chandra out in final trophy game, end step doubling up magma opus to dome opp for 8 and create 2 4/4s, then the 7 mana sphinx bringing it back on my turn to double it up again. EZ 7-0 lol
Kenji cube, lesgo! also, should have also countered the lifegain with sublime epiphany game 3 ;)
Ooof, game 5 was brutal. Shows how important tiny incremental decisions are.
This is the day guys, the day that Kenji bottoms down a sublime epiphany from scry!
it would never happen ever again!
Let's go cube is back baby
33:16 by playing the sundown here instead of field you could have copied field of the dead with poq on the following turn. Not that it would have affected a ton but rip no double field
Just a gnarly deck dude. I love these cubes.
Cube draft is by far the best MTG format, you have to take a lot of things into consideration drafting with so many powerfull cards
Nummy be cubin’, baby!
Resto the other token then let the circle flicker kill itself?
All plebes playing Arena Cube while Nummies is playing some Vintage Cube here, doesn't seem fair.
i think agent of raffine absolutely sucks but every once in a while your opponent plays it in a durdle game and you happen to draw no answers for it.
The Alpha is sweet. Especially when you can bounce it and champion into the rocks.
I did double Alpha in my first draft yesterday but I think casting it a second time was a mistake, the 10 mox + 2 lotus gave my deck too much mana sources, which is not compensated by the other power cards (after you add the first copies)
Hard to find low to the ground aggro cards in this cube
Oracle pick 6 is insane, people really avoid blue so much idk why.
Wish I knew the game like this lol Could never draft a winnable deck like this
RIP Kiazo, but excited for this
Obligatory "i wish they made a cube without alchemy cards and not playing until they do" comment
Can see that but damn they're fun.
grats Num for the 2gs! 50gs Dana!
Was worried about the early game. But deck was insane.
Ah yes the Nummy Izzet cube
Will you be attending Cube Con this year??
"Where do I put my finger?" which cubecon LOL
@@Gunnarr123abc what? There’s only one cube con lol
@@overtonwindowshopper sorry I was making fun of the schism that happened, I gave up trying to figure out who went where with the organization
Too focused on that 2k you just pulled in the Arena Open I guess. Love Cube though.

Is baral's expertise in?
not this time
@@comet8157 it's probably the most satisfying card to play complete blowout 😀
Turns out the best cards in my deck, are your cards!!
Nummy clearly doesn't play Brawl, otherwise he'd know about Poq LUL
Golden god just wanted to create more content for the tubers
Punt McGee.
soo much power.. maybe too much power. Maybe
Love me some cube
