Thanks for the information Doctor. Nice to have a proper explanation of the function of these prescription drugs that some of us need to continue to live a better quality life.
I recently had a major heart attack I’m on a cocktail of different medications I been watching your videos it’s helped understanding the drugs that I need to take takes 👍😎
In heart failure and kidney problem which one is beneficial ace inhibitors or calcium channel blockers. My dr prescribed me a calcium channel blockers.
ACEI's raise my BP linearly with no apparent limit (both lisinopril and ramopril). ARB's do the same (Losartan). Googling "can ACEI's raise blood pressure" suggests low levels of renin correlate with a pressor response for both ACEI's and ARB's. My new cardiologist ordered a test for renin (which my ex-cardiologist declined to do for 5 years). It was very low. I think all those Continuing Medical Education courses are baloney if they don't include the mechanism for raising BP.
yeah not even mentioned in the drugs manual. Superficial pharma and docs, just proves the patient really needs to stay on top of these things especially in the domain of their pathology
Thank you for this explanation. I'm taking Perindopril (2 tablets daily). When is the best time of day to take this drug? Would it be best taken before or after a meal? Thanks:)
Very well explained for the lay person good and clear.

Ace inhibitors are more preference as a first line treatment therapy
