it seems you are looking down on the musicians that do do covers, at the very least i will give one reason, not everyone is as gifted as you to be original or do a take on a classic song, for a whole lot of people, covers is all they have, and certainly there is an art on trying to replicate a song, hell, for a lot of people the the most accesible way to make a living or to earn some money on the side is to do covers, to do what you do and other great musicians is out of the question. just an opinion, please do not take it the wrong way, you are a fantastic musician, at the fore front of my generation i would even say, keep up the good work.
Absolutely no disrepsect intended towards cover musicians, I just meant to say that it's not my profession and putting 1:1 covers on UA-cam is not something *I* would consider doing. It's totally fair if that's how other people express themselves or make a living. I have the utmost respect for anything making a living in music in any form - takes a lot of balls!
I've greatly enjoyed keybordist and bassist play, guitar wasn't a weedly-weedly shred, thanks goodness, though Syd's theme could benefit from a little bit of a modulation for mystique, but the drummer was hellishly annoying. Even if we ignore stylistic differences, he kept this mix terribly busy and did not let it breathe, not the music, not the band members, it was all me me me. Having great chops is not ALL what makes a musician great. It's also understanding of the music played and respect to your band members and the team work.
I'm not giving this video a dislike only because of the keyboards and the bass. Martin, whatever you do, keep these two in your band. But your drummer should definitely know better when he plays other people's music. And not just other people. It's Pink Floyd for fuck's sake. Nick Mason was not the most techy skinman out there, but he's respected the music and the band.

Hi - Thanks for posting this! I just stumbled upon this and have never heard of you guys before. I'm 57, have 3 degrees in music (BA, MA, PhD), am a voice major, drummer, saxophonist, and have taught Rock History at the university level for years. The only reason I'm telling you this is that I have a deep appreciation and respect for what you are doing here. I greatly admire the fact that you have the courage to make your own version of this fantastic music. I've listened to these recordings hundreds of times and I really appreciate how you are paying homage to a great band/musicians that came before you yet recreating the music in your own way while at the same time paying respect to your rock elders. Keep this up. Don't ever stop. I love the energy levels in every part of this and all of the unique elements everyone brought to the performance. I really like the edgier interpretation and am really digging the rhythm section. It was all FANTASTIC! Thank you!!
Very interesting insight. With all respect, I think it doesn't take a degree to appreciate the totality of their performance. It does take an expert to break it down and filter out each of their strengths. I'm no expert, but in my opinion these musicians are a powerhouse. Is it wrong to praise the drummer, when he has this much talent to beat his way through? :-) I too feel the rhythm section is exceptional. I do hear the bassist making the melody, and stepping beyond what is needed, except the drummer is out of this world good :-).
i’ve been a Floyd fan since first listening to DSM back in 73 on our stereo.. so many favorites , i just found your video and you guys immediately bright a tear to my eye ... wow .. you are all so talented and your sound is amazing ... your guitar work and voice is incredible... thank you all so much for sharing your incredible music here .. i’m going out and getting a projection screen hooked up to my new stereo system and inviting my friends over to watch your medley again !!!!! cheers !!!!!
I discovered floyd when I was 17 in the late 80's. They hugely moved me while making me sit still for long periods...... if you understand.... From then till now they have been a part of my daily musical life in one form or another. I have always viewed 'covers' of them with a somewhat dubious eye and universal dissapointment. Tonight I poured myself a whisky and settled down to one of my carefully cultivated playlists, and was led to this medely from a Porcupine tree playlist suggestion. I have sat mesmerised till now, 20mins in, completely forgetting my whisky. That has not happened for a long........ time. You dont know me, so you dont know how rarely this static enthrallment happens for me, so take this as a compliment. The one cover of pinkfloyd I reluctantly but firmly will say is equal to the original. Well done.....Kudos.
God, what a beauty these guys from Pink Floyd have created!!! These are fantastic things that will be included in the piggy bank of the best musical compositions of the 20th century, and I think all subsequent ones too!!!
It's such a joy to see and hear a group of talented and passionate musicians play at the same time. It's a rare thing too. We are very lucky to have been part of the silent crowd watching this little concert in an inconspicuous corner of the internet. Thank you.
In all 40 years since I first heard „Shine on...“ and never stopped loving the song as well as the other PF classics deeply would I have thought I’d hear a cover that would even be better than the original. The drums just blew me away, all of you are so brilliant and the guitar work is just exceptional and so creative. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Having been a Pink Floyd fan most of my life, I have to say this sounds fantastic good. Instead of copying the tone of the original songs, you made them own.
I think the playing is excellent. I would not says they "made it their own". It's a very good copy with some minor differences. I would say the highlight was the last guitar solo.
Absolutely sick. I'd give up the ten years I played in a band to to pull off what you guys did in that room today. Forget all the humbucker haters- ridiculous. Could understand if this were a Floyd tribute band- seriously, this was so enjoyable to watch. Peace.
As a musician and casual Pink Floyd fan, I found your interpretation both respectful and entertaining. And while I noted the not-so-subtle differences between yours and the original, I found them neither annoying nor distasteful. I'm no purist, so the pyrotechnical aspects of your lead guitar work were impressive. And kudos to the keyboardist, both for his faithfulness to the original, which allowed you to paint a slightly different picture on the PF canvas, but to his amazing head of hair! I tend to agree with the other comments here about the drummer, but his busy sticks did not deter me from thoroughly enjoying your efforts. In fact, I found myself enjoying the medley almost as much as some of Pink Floyd's live performances I've seen on UA-cam. Having never seen PF in concert, I appreciate what you did here, and hope you've moved on to more and even better interpretations of the great classic/prog rock artists. Thanks!
I never comment on anything online, however I just have to say you made my day. Actually brought a tear to my old eyes. Grew up listening to this music. You folks are terrific from the players to the mix and the video. Thanks
From a HUGE Pink Floyd fan. Thank you thank you all. Pink Floyd legend lives on with great talent like this. You guys are amazing. Fabulous in keeping the music alive.
Gotta put my two cents in and say I friggin love the cover. Drummer didn't over do it (in fact I love that he was visibly enjoying himself). The singer/guitarist took it to a whole other level and of course the rest of the band made it what it was by being as talented as they are. Also a huge shout out to the camera crew for capturing it in an absolutely stunning way. A true pleasure to watch.
Good is good no matter the intent. The execution is brilliant. I grew up listening to Floyd and this is fantastic to listen to and enjoy. Long live caring musicians.
I appreciate that you are much more than a covers band, but as a lifelong Floyd fan these are the best covers/versions of pink floyd I’ve ever come across. Much respect.
This whole band is a collection of great musicians. I just stumbled upon them looking for a cover of The Beatles and have been stuck here ever since. Not complaining at all, these guys are great.
Another masterful performance by all you young Germans carrying the torch of classic & progressive rock! I regret I did not catch you while I was working near Dresden for most of 2018. The camera work makes your studio performance a joy to watch as well as to listen to. "Wish You Were Here" long a favorite of mine since it came out in '75 perfectly describes my last 20 years working in constantly changing locations. "Shine On You Crazy Diamonds"! Viele Dank!
Is it possible....I'm a 67 year old granddad who listen to P.F. years ago.... Thank you for this one, and and hope you will continue... Greetings from Mjoendalen, Norway
The trick with covering these classics, and the guitar solos in particular, is to mess around with them very little, while still putting your own soul into them. Success, I would say! Fab.
I actually thought he lacked feel until three band joined in. I'm glad everyone else liked it. It's a great rendition. I'm not a fan of his fake vibrato singing either.
Don't ever let that Drummer go...That's a special talent there. And to be honest, you're all so phenomenal, I can't believe he shines so much. I could watch him all day. I don't think I've ever been so envious of a UA-cam video. Dreamy stuff
I second that wholeheartedly, the precise fills he adds in are Second only to the rock solid timing, almost stealing the show in the guitar solo in comfortably numb, but no, that solo is a thing of beauty and not to be bested.
Just saw this for the first time. Masterful. I won't use the word "cover" . People don't say "The Atlanta Symphony covered such and such very well". You guys performed these songs as good as they can be done.
Martin Great performance by the whole band. Some complain about the drummer's many notes, this guys haven't listened to much music. Excellent imorovization of the solo at the end. That it is not always the same. Both God and the devil get tired of hearing the same thing almost every day, that's why he did Stairvey and Hotel Californija boring. You play fresh and professionally trained. How I want to jump into such a home band and jam like never before. I play the guitar 51 years and I'm 61. I'm not a solo guitarist as you might expect, but the rhythm and riffs are flawless. Play for many more years, just like now, on this video 👍💯🎸💖👌
I am in a Floyd cover band..at practice I have a box of stuff next to me...it’s labeled things to throw at the drummer! Always with the rat tat tat when ur trying to get into tune.
Yeah, at the expense of the unique brilliance of Shine On You Crazy Diamond. The initial drum entry is a critical early climax of the song, and he trampled all over it, with no sense of swing, feel, or understatement. And he kept showing off the whole song. He killed the suspense and subtlety of a brilliantly melancholy, mysterious song.
It's possible for the legendary witch to wonder why they didn't put more effort into this forever masterpiece while they had the time. The roots always create beautiful leaves, and the leaves represent the beauty of the roots' story as a masterpiece, as we are currently witnessing in this wonderful scene. Nature's way of making true beauty visible is this. Leaves are fed by the roots Even if they are buried in the soil. . PEACE FOREVER 💚MAKE MUSIC TOGETHER ❤Let's all SAY 'NOT' TO 'NOT' , " NEVER" TO " NEVER" ......From Iran, I have the deepest love assets for you all. AND ,Peace with ease ☘️☘️
ok, at first when the guitarist started playing different than the original I thought " ok, let him just play a but and see what happens". I'm a Gilmour fan myself and think that covering a song by him should be playing tribute to him and his legendary playing. that said, I also like this version, because everything fits! the instrumentation, the sounds, it fits eachother very well. the drummer isn't playing like Nick Mason, nor is the bassist playing like Waters but it sounds just as good as the original, I think. It's more paying tribute with they own sound than playing exactly as the original. there are too many covers like that allready, so something like that version is just a refresher of the good old stuff. I like it very much, well done guys!
WOW! Late in the day for my comment but this is amazing! If I win the lottery I will pay for a series of concerts by you guys. I know that the purists will always criticize but to keep this music alive it must be performed! You guys are already one generation removed from the original people. When they, inevitably, die it is people like you who will continue to keep this music alive. What would have happened if no-one had performed the music of Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart, etc after they had died? We don't have to depend only on recorded media. To be experienced in its entirety this has to be performed live. Thank you. Vielen Dank. Das freut mich sehr zu hoeren.
I love what you guys are doing tremendously! In addition to beautiful and tasteful interpretations of great music, the camera work gives a personal, immersive quality to your shows. And I love the cozy vibe of the room. At the risk of sounding cliché I'll go ahead and say that you're making the world a better place. At least my world :).
He was brilliant, i would love to learn from someone like that, he works with the drummer which is a huge deal, many bass players dont do that when they should
In reality, the entire band is dangerously talented. Yeah, the guitar guy is super talented, but c'mon, the keys, bass and drums!!! These guys are next level. Now praise those who actually created this music.
An absolutely brilliant rendition of some of my favorite recordings ever. People need to appreciate this for what it is, not get caught up in what it isn’t. Well done.

I really like the edgier interpretation and am really digging the rhythm section. It was all FANTASTIC! Thank you!!
I just by chance ran across these musicians. Fan-damn-tastic! I’m 70 y.o. & great music is still my drug! Great job!
Me too! I’m amazed. I love Pink Floyd and will always listen to it forever. Relaxes me quite well.
can't stop lecturing , praising, mentoring ..eh?
Very interesting insight. With all respect, I think it doesn't take a degree to appreciate the totality of their performance. It does take an expert to break it down and filter out each of their strengths. I'm no expert, but in my opinion these musicians are a powerhouse. Is it wrong to praise the drummer, when he has this much talent to beat his way through? :-)
I too feel the rhythm section is exceptional. I do hear the bassist making the melody, and stepping beyond what is needed, except the drummer is out of this world good :-).
Couldn't have said it better.
This is exactly what I needed after a shitty day of work, thanks guys!
Today i decided to quit my job .. this has shown up in UA-cam recommendation just when I'm finally home

I've really enjoyed NIghtwish covering "High Hopes".ua-cam.com/video/4oEDnVeYYyM/v-deo.html
God, what a beauty these guys from Pink Floyd have created!!! These are fantastic things that will be included in the piggy bank of the best musical compositions of the 20th century, and I think all subsequent ones too!!!
I am 56 years old and ive seen all the best who you have covered, and i can tell you now you guys are unbelieveable. FANTASTIC...
yep. Made my day
You are not a Pink Floyd tribute band, but you pay them tribute by being as good as you are. Stunning. Dave would love the guitar just stunning.
I agree thank you mmsb
Tamo junto! Também acompanho eles e concordo com você. O nível técnico dessa banda é absurdamente alto!

It's such a joy to see and hear a group of talented and passionate musicians play at the same time. It's a rare thing too. We are very lucky to have been part of the silent crowd watching this little concert in an inconspicuous corner of the internet. Thank you.
Well said...and I agree

4.3 million views shows you just how good this is. Fantastic job. I think the 4.3 will easily be surpassed.
Is at 6.4 million now… it need to be 10 million
Absolutely sick. I'd give up the ten years I played in a band to to pull off what you guys did in that room today. Forget all the humbucker haters- ridiculous. Could understand if this were a Floyd tribute band- seriously, this was so enjoyable to watch. Peace.

Do people not know Gilmour played buckers all the time? Comfortably numb anyone?...
Sounds perfectly healthy to me.
2660016A well I think a lot of expression is lost if you distort the guitar like that...
Thanks!

Daniel Rutter Films how nicely said...;)
I can’t get enough of the lead guitar solos. What divine interpretation!! They’re fluid, and play to the songs themselves.
The drummer in this is gifted, I find his playing to be beyond exquisite.
Technically good, and his kit has a lovely tone, but the playing isn't sympathetic to the music. This is more Dream Theatre than Floyd in places.😎

Thanks! I am deeply touched by your performance!
Martin
Great performance by the whole band. Play for many more years, just like now, on this video

he's awesome right? super tasteful, riding that snare like a boss
Drummers are always having time of their lives :D
It's possible for the legendary witch to wonder why they didn't put more effort into this forever masterpiece while they had the time. The roots always create beautiful leaves, and the leaves represent the beauty of the roots' story as a masterpiece, as we are currently witnessing in this wonderful scene. Nature's way of making true beauty visible is this. Leaves are fed by the roots Even if they are buried in the soil. . ok, at first when the guitarist started playing different than the original I thought " ok, let him just play a but and see what happens".
Daniel Komarek, you're spot on. This is as fine a tribute to Pink Floyd as I've heard in long, long time. Well done indeed.

Thank you.

And I love the cozy vibe of the room. At the risk of sounding cliché I'll go ahead and say that you're making the world a better place. At least my world :).
That bass player is on point, just in case anyone was wondering.
He was brilliant, i would love to learn from someone like that, he works with the drummer which is a huge deal, many bass players dont do that when they should
but not the guitar player
Bass players are almost always the unsung heroes of the band. The dude is completely on point, as you say.
In reality, the entire band is dangerously talented. Yeah, the guitar guy is super talented, but c'mon, the keys, bass and drums!!! These guys are next level. Now praise those who actually created this music.
yes but he added some notes, too
