- Another rediscovered violin concerto by Ysaÿe.
'Breuninger has recorded the complete works for violin and orchestra by Eugène Ysaye for the WDR. Those will soon be released on CD. Among these were also works which were never recorded before. The music was partially difficult to find. It is a remarkable coincidence that Breuninger, whose prize in Brussels is called 'Prix Ysaye', has a special affinity to Ysayes music since his early youth'.
This piece is played by violinist:
*Laurent Albrecht Breuninger -
Together with the
Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie -
and conductor
Welisar Gentscheff -
This recording comes from an album called "Ysaÿe: Works for Violin & Orchestra"
*further information about Laurent Albrecht Breuninger: "Winning the second prize, the “Prix Eugène Ysaye” in 1997, Laurent Albrecht Breuninger was the first German violinist to be placed under the first three in the history of Brussels’ Queen Elisabeth Competition. This award follows a remarkable line of prizes."
movements:
I. Grave e lento poco maestoso: 00:00
II. Andante non troppo: 9:32
III. (undetermined): 11:57
This time, with a little bit more information in the description :)
great that these are getting rediscovered
This recording is actually from 1996! The album was released in 2006.
According to Wikipedia: "Violin Concerto No.8 (orchestrated by Jacques Ysaÿe)". It is not a violin concerto proper. It is more a Reverie for Violin and Orchestra, almost a tone poem or long orchestral interludes in an opera. The interest is the composition itself, not the solo part. Very interesting indeed.
Yes that's true! But Ysaÿe named it a violin concerto so so did I. It is true because there is no sonata form I think. I'm not sure.
The first that slow Concerto I've ever heard
I love it❤
Ima cry rn. is there any ysaye recovered concertos? Edit: bro your literally goat.. how you find these recordings?
It's a new album from Breuninger. There are other violinists like Sherban Lupu and Ivanov that recorded some Ysaÿe violin concertos. It's a pretty new thing, except the violin concerto in E minor, that was recorded in 2018 I think. The violin concerto that hasn't been found completely on this channel is the E minor violin concerto, it's the first movement only. There isn't sheet music available of the concertos either I think, just some snippets from a violin concerto in E major, which the recording I haven't found already. --> s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/3/31/IMSLP107283-PMLP218447-EYsaye_Violin_Concerto_in_E_major_sketches_first_finale.pdf It wasn't that difficult to find the concertos, there was an article written about the album by Sherban Lupu so I found it on the internet (also available in apple music I think), but it wasn't that popular so I reuploaded it on youtube. The concerto in E minor was already on youtube. The album by Breuninger was also on the internet (not on youtube I think).
@@Jabafish damn good job bro i hope some other got recovered too...

This is the most boring and underwhelming concerto I have ever heard.
Every concerto shouldn't be fiery or fast. sometimes you should listen to chill
@@lumityyknn3 I didn't say that it should be fiery or fast. I said that it is boring.
I think it's interesting. It made me keep listening to it.
@@pneron2032 dont think it is an good concerto, i was expecting way more from ysaye, since his other concertos are way much better In my opnion
