Fairly poor run, but that’s just how performances go sometimes- I just have to prepare better. Definitely took the middle sections in this piece way too fast unfortunately. I think a lot of that was nerves though because looking at my practice runs, I was fairly consistent and clear at a slightly slower speed.
When I played this, I don’t think I was really prepared to do this piece justice, because this piece is one of the absolute best in all of marimba literature. I had become obsessed with Romantica months before performing, and that’s why I insisted on playing it despite lacking the chops and technique. Never got around to recording it properly (and cleanly), but hopefully one day I will because I just love this piece so much.
