This video is somewhat outdated. I released it a day before new sims came out which showed that the 10.1 rotation variant (with a mana burn at the start similar to the one showed in this video under "Opener") is coming out ahead very slightly (~1.5k DPS). For purposes of raw damage, they are effectively the same but the 10.1 rotation is a more concentrated burst and is often easier to do in a real fight so i'd just do that. In raw damage, if you skip the opener pre-burn and go straight into CDs, the 10.0 rotation sims better but once again only slightly and the 10.1 rotation is easier to do in a real fight so you can just do that. The 10.1 rotation can be found under (10.1.5 guide) except for the opener is different. The opener for this tier is where you just do what I said in this video under Opener except you pop Branch when you have 20s left on siphon storm, and you keep spamming your AM AB AB til you are EITHER oom, or your siphon storm has 17 seconds left on it. Then you just mimic the 10.1.5 rotation for the rest. If you are using branch, your 2nd branch will be used half way thru your 2nd surge when it comes up, and then its just used every other surge. Other trinkets are variable depending on their timer so i'd check the sims/mage discord arcane channel pins for that
what I have noticed is that pre burn is stacking the 2 pc if you are lucky :) so you got like 6% or 8% dmg. in real raids its hard to manage the preburn and keep all CDs in sync as I noticed. but maybe iam just brainfroze :D I tried the preburn but switched back to the big burn start. its easier.
Arcane is so cool. I started wow in df and KSM'd the past 2 seasons on survival hunter, now the raid team wants a mage and something in me was like fuck yeah, you're an arcade mage now you're a wizard swagged out in purple now; I leveled it and I'm gearing it and it feels like a whole other game. Awesome clear and explanatory guide man
in some guides for ST they go spark , NT , surge into barrage totm then ab spam to complete radiant spark buff. what's the difference in your st rotation and the others?
The day after I posted this it was found that doing the 10.1.5 rotation with the 10.0 opener (or similar to it) is slightly ahead in DPS (1.5k more DPS). So if you want u can watch the 10.1.5 guide to learn that. Both playstyles should be known imo but yeah
Nether Tempest does not benefit from RS whatsoever. The only reason we cast NT during our burst is for Arcane Echo so we want to maximize NT + TotM overlap. We do it after 4 AB in mini burst cuz its the latest time possible to do it without losing any damage by casting it. For big burst we get surge after 3 AB so we want to NT before Surge or else we lose damage casting it.
as always amazing, I love you for this do you reckon arcane - except some bosses like council - would be the go to mythic progress spec for those who want to min max?
How do I get off an AB+ Barrage and throw a ToTM before those hit the target? Sounds like we are going to have to work over time again just to keep up with other specs that just run in and nuke instantly lol. I'm all in because of the 4p though. Probably not as complicated as I think. Will just have to get some reps in
Amazing guide, thanks. A question: so we basically send 6 abilities to the RS. Did something change or did I not understand something correctly. I though RS only buffs 5 abilities? Or the last buff lingers and that's why Barrage can also get buffed by this?
When barrage is spell queued into Blast, they both benefit from the Radiant spark damage stack. The caveat is that only 1 can proc Harmonic Echo, so in the blast -> barrage spell queue situation, the Blast procs harmonic echo. In cleave you wouldn't spellqueue barrage into blast, and would just barrage for the final Radiant Spark stack, making sure barrage isn't spellqueued into the prior cast.
@@Oscar-wg3po okay, I got it. It still is confusing for me, like why is this spellqueued barrage is buffed by a RS that should be gone the moment the 5th blast hits? Just some under the hood shenanigans?
@@rtemtrubin Pretty much, its just weird coding. Its because if you do AB+Barr they both technically get cast at the same millisecond so the game just says fuck it and buffs both of them. If you think about the fact AB is a cast time and Barr is instant
The damage of Arcane Barrage is calculated on the cast of the spell, not when it hits. If you spellqueue it into the Arcane Blast, they both recieve the buff. Yeah it's basically just shenanigans. @@rtemtrubin
I've heard it's hard to get haste/vers items if you look at 10.2's loot tables, plus crafted items are nerfed. Top raiders won't play fire mage til they farm some haste/vers. On the other hand, you can easily mix and match some random stat items on Frost/Arcane.
Just spam AM AB AB til youre 200k-225k mana remaining then you start big burn sequence. You only do this in double lust. Obviously Evo -> AB Orb precast

Thank you Forg for all the hard work you put in for the Mage community! Really do appreciate it
By the way you explain it, you makes it feel way easier than Fire. Makes it so much more people feel attracted to this class
Arcane is defo easier than fire imo to learn
I’ve never seen someone do it better than this guy. Long live rank 1 mage.

sup forg ty for all the mage content
Thank you for the video Forgy! Any thoughts on what the best mage spec is going to be?
Very nice
thanks for work :)
Thanks for the content! Can you explain the your Gem/AB/cqs maco? What is cqs for?
without cqs mana gem wont be used because spells will keep queueing and mana gem wont have time to be used

What decides using surge as first RS spell vs the end? I see top parses currently using it at start of RS. Is it the old tier set?

Hi @Forgy thank you so much for your guides
This is a great question. I believe it's target specific but I could be wrong
Really miss the time when all you need is just blasts😢

Hello!

Why NT after 3(4) AB and not after RS? I thought its benefits more? Also icy veins have this sequence.

You press AB then you press Barrage and you press totm before barrage hits the target. I think you are overcomplicating maybe
Hey man, im kinda torn between arcane and frost, i only really do m+, is one superior to the other in that regard?
Thanks in advance man
im not the best m+ judge since ihavent done any testing but ive heard that frost keys is really strong
Can you also share and explain the AOE rotation?
That is something I want to do in part 3! I just need to play keys which I will do early season =)
Great! Thanks a lot for this, this is super helpful!
Love the Reminder of Season 1 - Thanx!
So basically we only need a WA for the 4 Set proc and play as usual? :)
Edit: Are you going to do Fire too?
Ye i watched closely and i see only S1 rotations and stuff ,exept 4p missle will be full consumed not clipped right?
Fire will be delayed unfortunately til few weeks into the patch but it will come for sure =)

Does this mean arcane is best spec for 10.2 pls answer why no fire spec and also is Sark cloak good for prog I just got it from lfr it’s op
