S/S has nothing to do with being a beginner and everything to do with ultimate tankiness. If your sole premise is to be a tank go S/S with a tower shield with the secondary being interchangeable.

I'm aiming at tanking and currently im running warhammer/greataxe with spear for bosses, and i'm wondering why greataxe is not a good tanking weapon (because no one uses it in the videos im seeing) I'm even planning on going Sword and shield with greataxe because i really like pulling everyone together before my combos. Toughts on that please
AoE means Area of Effect If healers pre-heal - enemies will run to the healer because healing generates a lot of threat and it's especially bad if the Tank hasn't had time to hit them with an attack or taunt. There is no incentive to pre-heal because you only need to heal people that have lost health so it's better to wait a few seconds until someone needs to be healed and it prevents enemies running off straight to the healer.

I've been taking Tanking seriously for the past 3 days, first time on an MMO and actually trying to understand the mechanics, and after watching this video and doing a couple of dungeons, its super unfortunate how most people don't really care about playing as a team and will just sort of rush out and do whatever... Still haven't figured out what the best way to find an actual team was, a faction? A house? Guild? Company? Writing this before checking if you already have a video on that, but if you have one you'd recommend, would love to hear it. @@boranis I actually have the same issue to be honest, I want to try to run more content with a more organised group because random grouping is so chaotic, even if you know what to do it can be hard to perform well because other players can impact how good you can Tank in New World

Fortify got changed. Now it provides boost to your phisical and elemental armour and uncapped.
There is ZERO reason for a tank to have any dexterity whatsoever.
Maybe so now but that wasn’t the case when this video was made.

As an aditional comment, i didnt really like playing SnS, but from what i see, it is essential to become a true tank

Very helpfull guide. New player here. If I am lvl 60 is 200 str and 200 con is good enogh? Gs 600 btw
I’d personally push to 300 CON if possible, will really help you to do more basic attacks and less blocking, Grit is really useful
