I've never seen a pesto sauce that color I'm so used to the green one sounds delish though I'm going to have to see if I can find some salsa like that cuz I lived over in the US

I'd love to see a vegetarian meal or two that is also gluten free. And I don't mean using gluten free pasta. I struggle with meals, being gluten intolerant, vegetarian, soy allergy and not able to eat beans either! As you can imagine salad is eaten all too often but I know how to cook eggs a million ways!!!
At least in the USA, you can also buy vegetarian pestos without animal rennet. They just use parmesan made with microbial rennet instead of the official parmigiana reggiano which uses animal rennet, which is like meat in that the animal is killed to obtain it. :) Or, better yet, make your own. The only store bought pesto I have ever had here that compared to homemade is Costco's refrigerated Kirkland brand, which is delicious, but, if I have it, I still add fresh basil, just because I love it so much.
I stumbled upon free from pesto that happened to be veggie. Made my day! (sign of the times huh?!) although I reckon with the rise in popularity of veganism and vegetarianism veggie pesto will be easier to get hold of these days (once the virus bores off anyway!) 🙂

Everything looks good, but for me I can't eat any of it....too carb heavy. Is it common in the UK to leave your eggs out of the fridge to store them? I'm surprised.....
Hey Jessica, they were. We chopped them fairly small so they cooked as the cast iron skillet retains a lot of heat. I’d suggest roasting them if you just cook this in a pie dish x
Hey! I’m a vegetarian but these recipes are super adaptable for meat, you can use pancetta in the pasta, real sausages for the toad in the hole. I wouldn’t cook meat as I wouldn’t eat it and it’d go to waste, I hope that’s okay

You can buy pre made vegan pesto generally found in the free from section of big supermarkets. Love your ideas

Asda free from pesto is vegan and sacla do a vegetarian/ vegan one. Animal Rennet is grim but it depends how strict you are.

Hi Erick, it is. They’re kept out the fridge in a supermarket. They cook better at room temperature too
Were the carrots cooked in the pie? Looked like they didn't have long to cook, wouldn't you roast them first? 🤔
