Thanks man that was really good demo , now I can add gps to my brand new tx16s 😌. One suggestion , try avoiding saying the word "GUYS". Its a Lil irritating ( no offence ) otherwise this video covered everything related to the upgrade ..... Thx again man
no offence , i was about to comment something about that too. i love the info in the video , im in the process of going with the gps on the bluetooth / 2.4 esp module , wanted to make sense of the 4 unpopulated ports on the sides of the mainboard , but i gess ill use it all on this part of the board
As a simple starting point for this project, I'm using my radio's GPS as a reference, compared to the lost drone's coordinates. ->Also wondering if there's a way to get a compass heading on the radio, using a magnetometer, and i2c line.... Hoping I can expand this radio-gps to an RTK station, to give my drone a more precise position estimate. (I don't even know if this is possible or practical, at this time, since swapping a small gps for an RTK module would take more space) The idea, would be to have a Base-Station coax lead, sticking out of the back of the radio. I would be able to set up the RTK-Base at my flying spot, and plug my radio into the RTK-Base Antenna. The drone would be the RTK-Rover. In theory, this would give my much more precision. I may find out that just setting up the whole RTK-GPS system, without the radio involved ends up being more practical, or I may find a way to gain precision, and by including the radio, end up with less components in my total load-out. Either way, for me, I will learn something. For my purposes, that is always of value.
why do we need our remote gps location when it always on our hand? unless it tells the aircraft's gps location on that remote for easy way to find if the aircraft crashed somewhere.
one use case would be if you know firmware coding you can make your drone follow your controller. I hope this video helped. please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos.
Really cool! I need to open my Jumper T16 if there is also a free UART available to use like in the Radiomaster. They are from the same family so it might already be implemented in the mother of that radio!?! Thank you very much! Subscribed!
@@AstroShootingStars thank you for the verification. I will try this out and give Feedback in this channel! But it will take two weeks as I‘m on vacation 😉
Thank you for your valuable suggestion i am sure will help my viewers and followers. If you liked my content. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
you need to change the layout from the last button first option to select 4 widget and then add widget to each section. I hope this helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
it should be ublox supported gps also check if you reupdate the software with GPS option enabled, assuming you connected the wires correctly. I hope this helps. please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
I did this because i wanted to check the feature which was avialable in the firmware. Usecase could be many and possibility of future usecase could be to have lua script that shows you the relative location of you wrt to your drone, may be instead of image processing you can send the controller gps loc to have accurate following feature. Depends on how developers wants to use. I hope this helps. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
If you like to configure the firmware like i do. This can be used for drone following you as optical following drone are not so accurate , this can give extra reliability. I hope this answers your question. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
they had external ports and uart in mark 1 as well however i did not wanted to hang the component out of radio so i installed it inside. I hope this video helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
If you are talking about power , then yes but i used it from the same place as all ports were at one place. I hope this video helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
i hope you did not forget to update the firmware with GPS support without that GPS will not work as shown in the video. I hope this helped. Please stay tuned to mu channel for my future videos.
other than Date and Time , what is the benefit to add gps ?
Thanks man that was really good demo , now I can add gps to my brand new tx16s 😌.

Thanks man for this wideo💪🤠 its helpful alot 😄

Can you add the link to guide for installing Bluetooth module in TX16S? Thanks.
Thanks for the video. To add Bluetooth, do you just solder any Bluetooth module to the same 4 pins?
That is correct and update the firmware with bluetooth for it to work. I hope this helps. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
What’s the benefits of having a gps installed in the radio?

I verfied for you yes you have the internal UART similar to radiomaster . I am glad it helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos

Cool 👍
now you finally know where your transmittor is.
You are most welcome 🙏 here. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
You know the 2 empty uart can be used. Just put plug on the gps.
The Neo6M gps is outdated. You should use a GM10 gps module instead as it would get many more satellites quicker. And only about $20.

Where can I get the widget on the bottom right?

I have M10 gps and install not working please help

They come assembled now and the mkii has a 4pin connector open
they had external ports and uart in mark 1 as well however i did not wanted to hang the component out of radio so i installed it inside. I hope this video helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
Hi! Why you did not use port already marked on the left side of processor?
If you are talking about power , then yes but i used it from the same place as all ports were at one place. I hope this video helped. Please stay tuned to my channel for my future videos
I used this one....still working on getting my gps to work though :(
i hope you did not forget to update the firmware with GPS support without that GPS will not work as shown in the video. I hope this helped. Please stay tuned to mu channel for my future videos.
