Yes we need a piece of a few people. Who is responsible for the Easybeats not have the fame they deserve Had they been given a manager and recording company that knew what they were doing. The Easybeats and Stevie , and the other bands from Australia would have been able to find the following that would have made them famous.😢
You’re right! Stevie is amazing! And these are terrific songs from a great band that deserved to be as famous the Who or the Yardbirds. They’re as good or better.
love the easybeats and you know Michael Myers ripped off Stevie dancing for his Austin Powers character, I mean come on. little Stevie as he was known was one of the first if not the first lead singer to start dancing and moving around on stage instead of just standing there and they love him for it and other singers took notice and follow suit.
Easily one of their best songs can't believe it wasn't a hit amazing melodies and harmonies they were loved by other groups especially Small Faces and Stones, Ray Davies as well, The Godfathers of Aussie Rock a pity Stevie got on the gear...as he was one of best front men of all time..if he wasn't so f'd up could have been the lead singer of AC/DC...And he was offered both Yesterday's Hero and Love is in the Air but knocked them back...
Bowie actually did a version of the Easybeats’ song Friday on my Mind on his Pinups album, so you could say Bowie was influenced by the Easybeats rather than the other way around. Maybe they were both influenced by each other, who knows ?? R.I.P. all those who have left us, Stevie Wright, George Young & their 2nd drummer Tony Cahill and David Bowie.
And now we can add Harry Vanda to that sad list of the Easybeats who have died. He passed away in August of last year. He was diagnosed with dementia sometime in 2000 s and then he was diagnosed with cancer. I don't know what type of cancer,or were they found it. But he passed away only 8 months after his diagnosis. 😢😢😢😢. At the age of 78. 😢😢 so now we are missing three of them. Rest In Peace Stevie George, Harry . and not a Easybeats but he was a great part of the group AC DC. Rest In Peace Bon Scott, and George's little brother Malcolm. And let's not forget Tony Cahill I think that was the name of the Easybeats second drummer . He has also passed away from a brain hemorrhage in the year of 2014. A year before Stevie and the others. So thank you for your contributions to the music you have created 😂😂😂 And rest In Peace every body. Hopefully you are rocking the stairs with the other great performer's that are in heaven with you 😂😂😂 That would be a great show 😂😂😂😂
@@OldiesMommaI didn't know this about Harry. Terrible news. He was a rock god. He should have received a Sate funeral in Australia. Magnificent musician, songwriter, producer, guitarist, human .... great mentor to so many bands and musicians. Rock in Peace Harry. 🤘😢🤘
This is a great song but it was far too progressive for its time. In my opinion, It was a poor choice as a second single and the sales proved my theory was right. They had so much better 'standard' songs in the can and as it has been stated many times before, they were poorly managed. Fantastic band but poorly managed and they had the wrong record company. UA was not the spot for a band like this in America.
Me gustan mucho Easybeats(friday on my mind es un clasico sixties inolvidable),esta cancion salio en un single español,espero no equivocarme, como cara B de Good Times. Fabulosa!
My favourite song by The Easybeats and they have done a lot of great songs. I've still got the 7 inch single of this, had it for about 50 years. I'm amazed it wasn't a hit. Classic.
Yes - it was banneed in the States because of the line "Finding someone else in your bed" - which the Americans found so offensive!!! Unbelievable. Australia's greatest rock band that should have been a world wide sensation.
In some American states it was released with the offending line replaced with; "discovering that your love has gone dead". The replacement line was also used in the original Australian release, but the original line was used in later releases. Do not know if the Easybeats performed the censored line or some imitator.
A kórházi dilettáns kezelések vitték el! 😪 A felelötlen orvosok, akiket senki nem von utólag felelősségre😪Onnan jött ki rosszul!😪RIP csodaszép Stevie!🌹Élezre szúlettél!🙏Szeretúnk!❤🌹
They may have had diverse origins but they were an Aussie band. They said said so in their interviews and their music was not English, Dutch or Scottish, it was purely Australian, born in Aussie pubs & clubs. Easybeats = 1960s Australian Music !!!
Stevie was still only 19 years old at this time. Harry was 20 and George, barely, 21. And they broke up 2 years later. Bare in mind that you had to be 21 years old to legally sign a contract back in those days. Unfortunately, too much, too soon. It’s only with hindsight that we can realize that they were all musical prodigies.
@haitipi It's not Tony Cahill either - Tony was a leftie and that guy sitting in on the kit is playing a right-handed kit. Tony probably slept in that morning and missed the shoot or just couldn't be bothered.......
Is there a video of this performance that you can see all of them, especially Stevie wright doing his Dancing 😂😂. . He was so talented and very cute and adorable ❤❤.
Friday on my mind is a well known classic in the US but you’re right that Easybeats were basically a one hit wonder here. A bit like The Small Faces and ‘Itchycoo Park’, but ‘Tin Soldier’ is unknown. There certainly are Yanks who appreciate them today via UA-cam. Sorry was actually used on a tv commercial here a while back.
BeatlesBootlegs9 I had to google it. I found it on UA-cam, it was for The Gap. Just a 30 second snippet, but it is a great song. Can’t believe it wasn’t a big hit in the 60s!
It was also banned in some states of the US because it has the word HELL in it. How frickin absurd is that ?? I imagine the states were those in the Bible Belt, brimstone, fire & serpents BAN IT, BURN IT, it’s the devil’s music !!! Omg
Damn, these guys are good. They should’ve had hits all over the radio in the US.😎✌🏽☮️🎸

I don't know man cause Jagger even got it from earlier preformers like James Brown
Ronnie - guess you never say the duck walk
Also reminds me of Edward Scissorhands for some reason
Actually Mick Jagger said he was influenced by Stevie Wright
@@h1-tone yes he did. Love my Stevie.
Not their best song. Sounds like they were influenced by the Beatles.
Do you realise in terms of life he was just a kid
Not their best song. Sounds like they were influenced by the Beatles.
RIP Stevie & George💕 Your brilliant contributions to Australian music will NEVER be forgotten.
George yawning voraciously in the background is quite comical.
Heaven and Hell - The Easybeats
Heaven and Hell - The Who
Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath
Stevie, what a beautiful boy.

Fantastic song. Great lead singer.
Watch George yawning at the start of this! Adorable!
Stevie wright r.i.p one of the best rocknroll singers ever
Terrence Walsh
One of the best rock voices to exist
RIP Stevie Wright
Stevie was so young to cope with all he fame.
Csodálatos! A Zene is,meg a Fiú is!
Sounds like “The WHO” might have stolen some of this song, and the Easybeats wrote it…..very similar to the WHO’s music’s in the late 60s early 70s.
love this song and the band. Stevie is awesome and gorgeous!
Is it just me getting Bowie vibes? Great band and Stevie an amazing singer and stage presence.

George is so good he can play in his sleep
He's a young, what u expect
Bass player has some excellent Entwistle-esque riffs. Fantastic

Sounds like a John Lennon song at the beginning. Love it though. Great band.
A song before it's time eh
Fine song, but why say this is live when it so obviously is not?
Sounds kinda glam
is George sleeping
I think he was yawning.
I bet this was shot really early in the morning. These performances usually are
😊.
No idea who the drummer is.
Harry est aussi mignon avec ses cheveux tout court.

Loved this song since I first heard it in the Seventies. I still do. It's still great all these years later.
I love that!
Who is on drums? Snowy Fleet or Tony Cahill?
@haitipi It's not Tony Cahill either - Tony was a leftie and that guy sitting in on the kit is playing a right-handed kit. Tony probably slept in that morning and missed the shoot or just couldn't be bothered.......
Was wondering the same thing. That’s neither Snowy nor Tony. Probably just a stand in for the clip.
Why was this song banned by the BBC???
They thought it contained drug references God it's so tame to what's being referenced today
Because of purported drug references and the line "discovering someone else in your bed"
naughty naughty!!
Directors on drugs tho
он не родственник Shannon Marie Woodward?
Is there a video of this performance that you can see all of them, especially Stevie wright doing his Dancing 😂😂. . He was so talented and very cute and adorable ❤❤.
And, that sweet bow. (sorta like the Beatles did in their early days).
RIP, mate!

The yanks don’t know a great thing when they hear it.

original songs by jonathan lewis because it had the word hell in it. It’s bloody ridiculous! This song is incredible and it got banned :(
@@villagegreen5061 also the fact the original had the line “Discovering Someone else in your bed”
