"Sending positive vibes/mojo" is such a popular saying nowadays.... Really something that just sounds nice to say. I understand it, but I don't think it helps. Why not go around your neighborhood and try and help people in similar situations as this fellow instead being an anonymous person who posts, "sending positive vibes" on UA-cam. I'm sorry if you find me rude but man I found people are such sheep

I hope you can turn that hate towards the addition and the behaviors that were the results of that addiction.
Self hate will then turn to self destruction in most cases.
Self forgiveness and the learning of the disease and what it causes can help with this. Please get all the support by professionals to help you get to the point where you can forgive your self. Best wishes

About 2 years ago me and my crew saw a heroin addict walking by extremely happy across the street... as you may know the H rule (if a junkie is happy , he has heroin money on him).
Long story short we jump him , knock him down and rob him cold. He got 220 euros.
About 6 months later he commit suicide.
The point is I still laugh about it like it was yesterday. I mean I felt sorry for who ? A junkie?
We saw her sister about a week ago.... I try to smash her but she said no... I told her about her brother plus I say "if he was here 30 times I would smash him again 30 times, nobody even like him" and she cry a lot and started shaking.
The point is some of us are the bad guys of the stories and WE DONT GIVE A FLYING F*CK ABOUT IT , WE STIL LAUGH ABOUT THE INJURIES WE DONE.

I’m dumbfounded as to how some people can spread such vitriolic hateful comments towards Mark who has only shown compassion and kindness to these human beings.
Besides this , Mark has always been transparent in all he does on his channel- he doesn’t monetise on his content. So please people if you have nothing nice to say - remain silent. Unless you have taken a walk in another person’s shoe you have no place to make judgment .

@Avalon 2 Teachers don’t decide what professions are taught in schools. Theta don’t choose curriculum. They don’t fund the schools. Teachers are not the issue here. At a state level, funding needs to increase. They need better jobs so parents can become educated, have better homes, steady money. Trying to put the blame on teachers is so inaccurate. Maybe the teacher pay is crap there too? I’ll bet it is.

Exactly. There are so many places where "there is nothing to do" according to local teenagers (and some adults). The truth is that for him yes, there is nothing to do that can measure up to the experience of getting high-so he rationalizes his behavior by convincing himself there is nothing else to do... it's a loser mentality. Hopefully he can break out of it!
Our ancestors got by with far less entertainment and far fewer activities that we all enjoy today. Cody needs to go get a hobby or two, go outside, lift weights, exercise, write/paint/create, and maybe even work sometimes. Things are only going to get worse the longer he resists change.

Every rural area in America has a drug problem. Well probably the majority anyway. I grew up in rural Ohio, not Eastern Ohio but western Ohio, about 30 minutes from Dayton. If someone made over 40k a year they were considered rich. And its the only part of the country where teachers make a lot of money compared to everyone else. People think teachers are rich here. There are very little jobs here, you have to drive at least 20 miles one way to work so a car is an absolute necessity. You can't pick where and how you grow up, thats for damn sure. And drugs are absolutely everywhere. I've had my struggles with them. And with Dayton close by there are plenty of drugs around.

    • @keshacook2754

Drugs are everywhere in this country, from the big cities to the country back-woods towns...this isn't just a U.S. epidemic it's a whole world problem, the rest of the world is dealing with the same issues we are when it comes to drugs, some countries aren't as bad yet others are a lot worse. It's sad! I hear about overdoses almost everyday anymore, especially a lot of younger people od'ing. The youth is the future of this country and with more and more of them turning to drugs seems the future is looking a little more bleak with each passing day. I want active addicts to get the help they need before it's to late. They need to know that there are places that will help them with their addictions, and that life can be good without using drugs and they can learn to lead a normal life after addiction recovery. I know bc I was just like this person and after 5 years I am still sober and happy. During my addiction I never thought life could be normal or that I could feel happy again but that was the drugs telling me that. I was still the same person under all that addiction I just needed to break through and find my self again. I thank God everyday for giving me the 2nd chance that so many do not get and if I can help just 1 person get clean and start that chain reaction I'm fine with that,if I can help more I will but I've got to start that chain reaction somewhere so here's where it starts! If you're struggling with addiction please seek help and get clean for yourself (do not do it for anyone but you), if you have a loved one that is an addict please do not enable them you're not helping that person you're really making it that much harder for them to get sober. I am speaking from experience, I was enabled for years by my husband, friends, family and it did more harm in the long run, so please tell them no you won't loan them anymore $ or give them anymore drugs. If you love that person you will not stand by and allow them to self destruct...♥️ love from a fellow addict.

I was addicted to pain killers for almost a decade, finally got help and it's so worth it to make that change. I grew up on a small island, bored nothing much to do but get into trouble, it took removing myself from that place and moving away and realizing I had to be the change that I wanted to see. 🙏🏼 get help, get better, live the sober life. The animals need someone like you on their side ❤️

I'm by far NOT a doctor and not a smart ass but I have also struggled throughout my life with addiction and I was 13 when I first tried heroin and now I'm 42 and still have issues and only ONE, just ONE doctor that I felt actually have a shout about me once told me that anyone who suffers from pretty much any type of psychological issues, (depression, bipolar,ADHD,etc.) Usually 98% of us that have any of those issues same have never either been diagnosed improperly or not given the correct mental health treatment, always become addicts. I trailer believe this. If and when u go to rehab, stand up with your heart and be soooo honest about all your mental health, it took years and years to get on the correct meds, and counseling sessions LONG before I could ever even have thought about getting treatment for my addiction no matter how bad I really wanted it and needed it to work. Iam no longer an addict but still have mental health issues and still feel like I'd I didn't faithfully follow my mental health plan than I would totally use again!!! Keep your head up and like I have read so many times in the comments to your short video... You have a headstart. Admitting you have a problem is the hardest part, and you having a dream to work with animals is something to fight for..... They do need you, just like we're all need you!!! Good luck brother.....

I'd like to see a list of lies told by addicts. Once, my stepson and his pregnant girlfriend told me the power company was about to turn off their lights for an unpaid bill. I said, I won't pay the whole bill, but I'll give you a $100 postal money order. I bought the money order, and filled it out fully -- paid to the power company, account number etc. Ha! -- they took the money order straight to the post office, got a cash refund, and bought dope. When their power got cut off, they moved to another cheap apartment, and got power in her sister's name.

I've been watching your videos for about a year now and i love the content. I never thought I would see someone I knew growing up, on your channel.... I used to live in the town of Nitro WV. Cody and his sister used to come to the pool a lot in the summer . His sister and i went to the same school at some point if I'm not mistaken. I'm 32, so back then he was just Chelsea's little brother but sadly a lot of his generation and a lot of mine fell to drugs the same way. I was fortunate to make it out of the state when I was 29. WV is a beautiful place to visit if you like doing things in nature, but it sure isn't a place you want to live your whole life. Drugs are rampant combined with ABSOLUTELY nothing to do, and an insane lack of work and direction for the youth. Most of the people who are born in WV die there, and its been that way for a long time. He seems like an alright dude though, outside of his addiction. He could get cleaned up and still make a life for himself, he doesn't seem to far gone. Looks like he's still got his teeth as well, That's rare even for non drug addicts in WV LOL.

I'm curious as to what's REALLY behind the phrase 'nothing to do' that Cody and so many other teens and young adults give as the main reason they use drugs. Even those who live in large cities (where there's ostensibly an endless number of things to do) say "there's nothing to do".
It seems to me like this sentiment acts as a container to manage some abstraction that's vastly bigger and more frightening than they can wrap their heads around - and THIS (whatever it is) is what backs them into a helpless and passive mindset.
I wish someone would probe "there's nothing to do" with the question "there's nothing to do about what?'

Well, I have 2 teenage boys, and I will tell you that my boys try to go out and do things. And EVERYWHERE they turn, all their friends, the whole sports team, on and on...They all do drugs. And the parents are doing them too. I have had to SNATCH my son out of another kids house, because he "Stays with Grandma" like most kids now, their parents can't get their shit together to take care of them...and when Grandma went to lay down the kids started in on drinking and pulling the drugs out. And this is my son that has dreams aspirations and GOALS! My other boy just won't even leave the house barely. He just stays away from it all. He wasn't raised where we live now and he is bewildered by the low quality of friends there are to pick from. The county wanted to put in a pool, put they put an end to that project. They wanted....to put in a skate park...Nope, put an end to that. There is a shitty little park and dog park area where, btw, the dope heads wander about and sleep at, so now no one wants to go there and I won't let my kids there alone. So, what do you do...I put in a pool at my house, bought things for them to play on like a trampoline, computer, shoot I have 2 project cars in the driveway, I am trying to teach them at least mechanics, etc. They landscape, mow lawns, yada-yada. You have to be all OVER these kids and what's going on with them. I have had to "blacklist" over half of my son's "friends". It is literally a full time job. Luckily, I have figured a way to work third shift, while my husband is home sleeping, so I can sleep during the day while they're in school. Just so I am not at work when they get home. Someone has to BE THERE. But think about these kids....half of their parents are so lost in the same shit they're in, probably introduced them to drugs...they aren't doing what I am doing. So, they need parental figures, role models, TRANSPORTATION for God's sake.

I just don't understand why they bring babies into this world when they can't even take care of themselves. These children will grow up traumatized, no matter how many times the parents try to tell themselves excuses like "I'm self medicating my mental illness". Go to therapy and go to rehab. That's the only responsible way they would be able to raise healthy children.
I know how hard addiction can hit, I've been through it myself but getting children involved into a life like this is just irresponsible and breaks my heart. I bet it even worsens the addiction due to parent guilt. Why have children when you can't take care of them... I'm just sorry for all the broken families due to drug addiction.

I get what you're saying and agree with it overall. But using hard drugs is a dumb step to take in the first place and then when you are in addiction the moves you make are not going to be well thought out...only worse, therefore people then have kids so forth, is not a shocker...stupid but not a shocker. And therapy and rehab are costly if you don't have insurance, really impossible unless you get on some free program that not everybody is able to get. Most people caught up in addiction unless they come from wealthy families don't have health insurance and America has a horrible healthcare system especially when it comes to mental healthcare and addiction. I know I been through this stuff since the mid 1970s...I was one of the lucky ones and survived that scene and been clean for over a decade.

Because love and sex are one of the few things people have when their lives, surroundings and hopes are in the gutter. Sex sometimes makes babies. Yes, it's not cool to raise kids while continuing a drug addiction. Yes, anybody has the ability to get clean. Not everyone has the family support, the community support or the self love and determination to kick the beast. Some folks have one foot in the gutter and one foot in the grave. It's a sad reality, but I don't understand someone who doesn't understand it

I had MAT for 2.5 yrs with methadone. Next I went to 28-day rehab to get off methadone. Sober for nearly 3 yrs now. If u succeed in treatment you will have to leave LA. Consider San Diego if u like the city. If u have family members who use drugs u might have to get way from them. U need a new life.

damn I like this kid, I wish the best for him🙏🏻 I hope he really does go into rehab, just break the cycle of drug addiction and replace it with caring for animals. I know it’s way easier said than done but I love his plan and animals can pull you into the present moment and give us unconditional love🙏🏻❤️❤️

i hope cody skims through at least a handful of this comment section, filled with love hope and support. nobody is going to get you out of this but yourself. and the only way out is through. through all the low points of getting clean. from my understanding, these drugs will deplete your pleasure receptors and inhibit your ability to control impulses- addiction. you CAN change the way your brain is currently functioning. this is simply another comment letting you know that i personally am rooting for your sobriety and well being but YOU have the power and strength to get THROUGH this. it is a matter of WILL. your will. to take a step, each day, each moment for your SELF your future and the future of your little girl ❤️✨

Cody is an intelligent and kind soul. I'm a marijuana addict that has been clean for a while now and I acknowledge how hard it can be to get sober. The pain of changing is more bearable though than the pain I felt when staying stagnant in my active addiction. Cody, if you're reading this I am rooting for you.

Best looking guy from Appalachia I've seen yet. So young and has so much potential. Been where he is and I don't miss it. Pray the universe and God helps him find a healthier path. The lack of opportunities where he lives. Scary!!
