Meus músicos favoritos são brasileiros. Claro que eu também adoro o trabalho artístico de muitos artistas internacionais, mas nós também temos os nossos artistas de peso, é uma pena no Brasil eles não receberem o valor merecido pois as massas tem um gosto musical muito limitado.
Acho bobagem essa coisa de criticar as pessoas falando que elas "pagam pau pra gringo".. soa como nacionalismo barato..

@@succogastrico77 he has triggers only in the basses. He have this sound from his grip and from his equipment (heavy drumsticks from Promark and heavy Evans drumheads)

Easily my favorite song on Temple of Shadows. Not the fastest or the most complex, but super tasteful drumming here. There's a lot of emotion throughout the song, like the vocal harmonies, but especially during the guitar solo. Really a beautifully composed song all around... Aquiles knows when to step back and when to shine!

I’ve been a drummer over thirty years. I’ve heard a lot of great drummers. Aquiles Priester is definitely on my list of one of the best I’ve seen. I would have liked to have heard him on some new Dream Theater songs. He definitely has the skill and the technique. He would have kicked ass in Dream Theater. Rock on drummer brother 🤘

This guy is amazing and my newest drum hero...uses the double bass so tastefully and musically...not merely speedy blast beats but so much more than that. Keep me inspired brother.

Imagine dragging that kit around between gigs. By the time you're finished loading the car the rest of the band has already loaded, gotten drunk, gotten laid and is fast asleep...
No shit after playing clubs a couple months. I downsized on the bass drums went with a double bass pedal & a mounted tom & floor tom actually made me better. Had to get more creative.
The Professor did it for 45 years.... keep hammerin Aquiles. We appreciate your talent

@@ourteslaexperience5396 I haul out 2 amps, 2 212 cabs, rack, switching system and 4 guitars for a gig as a guitar player. It's obvious no working drummer on a smaller level brings out this beast kit for 5 club gigs.
I now have listened to hundreds of drummers through the years.
Aquiles is definitely one of the most musical of them all.
Lots of variation and incredible groove.

Quando saiu a resenha desse álbum na Roadie crew em 2004, lembro que o crítico comentou “Da pra ouvir o disco inteiro prestando atenção na bateria!” Pura verdade.
Mano, da pra ouvir esse disco inteiro prestando atenção em qualquer instrumento. Pegando a linha do baixo pra prestar atenção, vai ouvir do começo ao fim do disco maravilhado com as ideias.
Mas as linhas de batera são mesmo de outro mundo. Maravilhoso demais. Eu ja assisti esse fideo umas 20 vezes. Cada vez que assisto fico preso num trecho, repetinto 10 vezes pra prestar atenção em algo que não tinha ouvido com tanta atenção.
E merecia levar nota 10 e não 9... Nunca esqueço!

You're probably right considering this is the first time I've seen or heard of this guy. Very clean sounding.
As most of what I watched was some speed pedals and symbol crashes I think he will stay underrated ( or without rating ) with a shinny drum set.
Doesn't help that this song was terrible.

This is an amazingly BIG drum set. It sounds amazingly good. And the drummer is legendary. Ooo yeah and i like his shoes.

Aquiles you shaped my drumming passion during it's formative years along with Chistian Nyquist, Casey Grillo, Mike Portnoy, James "The Rev" Sullivan, and other greats! Angra has been one of my favorite bands since 2004. Thank you for this series!
Always a joy to see Aquiles play, especially anything from "Temples of Shadows". Easily my favorite Angra stuff.

Aquiles Priester in beast mode with Angra. Totally awesome. Those Paiste Colorsound cymbals sound amazing, and you do make use of your whole kit. Interesting there are some black ride cymbals and hi hats thrown in with all the red crashes. Phenomenal. And the Mapex drums sound astonishing.
Those black cymbals are Aquiles's signature

If I could give you an official nick name it would be Snot Thrasher cause you certainly know how to thrash the snot out of that kit. And you do it with such easy.
It also reminds me of a group called Yes.
Years and years of listening to this album while imagining Aquiles playing the drums, trying to figure out every fill, every little detail. The album sounds amazing but there are some hits and details that you don't get to hear. Like for example at 5:28 the 8th notes that he plays on the floor tom between the accents, those little details.

Yeah. As I say, Aquiles is the best drummer nowadays. Even I'm not a drummer, I recognize his talent. I like the way he plays, each fill or detail. I think this is incredible.

They should have gone with this guy. MM is clearly one of the best, but sound and feel wise, I like this drummer much much more. Those drums sound really good, Mike has never had a decent sound to my tastes.
Evan Keal I like Aquiles but he would have never fit on DT. You don’t pick a drummer only by the sound of his drums.
He is really good in his type of music, but DT is such a different style, not for him.

Achiles is a technician and clearly an athlete, but he was not a drummer who could improvise well in the Dream Theater audition. Just not his way of doing things. I love this guy's dedication tho. He plays exactly how Id play if I put in that much practice

Nem de longe ele é o melhor, pedal duplo dele é muiiiito top sim, mas quem é ele na frente do Elo e o Bruno? Esses dois são bem mais completos! O pedal do Bruno tbm é top e o do Eloy nem tem o que dizer, mas a mixagem do Aquiles é quem mais da destaque a ele, tanto que ele foi uma bosta na audição do DT, ou seja, sem pedal duplo, ele é apenas um simples batera!!!! vdd seja dita.

and tuned...really the tuning and getting tones would be a friggin nightmare. It would take so long the temp in the room would probably change and mess it all up.

@@nathanworobey3102 it's a good idea, saves tens of thousands of dollars on compressors, mic, stands, cables not to mention the biggest payoff, a fraction of the set up and sound auditioning tweeking phase.
