    mr Bartels, i want to thank you for the work you are doing making these videos. The information you are sharing is golden. I found the volume calculation videos you made very usefull and i use them every day at work as a professional land surveyor(it saved the day many times). Your channel has everything a civil engineer needs to suport a small or a big project from the design aspect. Keep up the good work. I would also like to see more videos for advanced grading (with various technics).

    This video is a great example why I follow you. Love the kmz and google earth information. Earlier in the video, you talked about rotating text to line up to something. I use the "torient" command by selection to points (with snaps or not) and the text rotates exactly to follow the direction of your two points. Keep making these videos Jeff...you make me look good at work 👍

      Thanks a lot for sharing the 'torient' command. At first I thought it was misspelled because of the letter t at the beginning. Great to know this option exists as many people I know struggle with rotating the text.

    I've been following your channel for a long time now, and I just wanted to express my appreciation for your latest Civil 3D video. Even though it was only half an hour long, the depth and quality of the content were outstanding. Your explanations were clear, concise, and incredibly knowledgeable, making it easy to understand complex concepts.
    Thank you for consistently sharing your expertise and creating such valuable content. Your videos have been a significant resource for me, and I always look forward to learning more from you.
    Keep up the fantastic work!

    Hi Jeff thanks for the video, I watch a lot of your work and learnt so much. I use the export to google earth quite often, an extra step to the google earth export to save the view closer to the exported information > right click properties of the exported model > click view tab > "snapshot current view"

    Great tips Jeff, Thanks for sharing it with us
    I face the same problem regarding the zooming out of the kmz file location when I open it on Google Earth, I think this happens because there are some items that have different elevations.
    The solution for it is simple, once you open the file on Google Earth right-click on the file name at the left menu(Places) choose properties then view tab, and change the value of range (usually the value is 637100000) just change it to 637.100 and it will zoom it correctly.
    To save the changes right-click on the file name and choose Save place as.

    Bartels, thank you so much as always. A quick question. In the Oil&Gas industry, at least in Texas, the architectural scale style is required for locating pipe foundations, considering an arbitrary origin normally located at the South-West corner of the facility. That makes me jump onto Cadworx to perform that activity. Is there any way you can tell the Autodesk people to consider this. That is going to open broader their selling, or, do you have a turn around to make a cogo-point to give X, Y coordinates in architectural style?
    Thank you Bartels

    Dear Sir
    Please tell us how to save permanently self-made label styles and surface styles and contour lines styles into civil 3d for future drawings.

    • @JR-uc1of
      @JR-uc1of 10 місяців тому +1

      You have to save the drawing with the styles to a template. You will then use this template to create new drawings or you can grab the styles from that template and put them into existing drawings

    • @Loki-qu2kw
      @Loki-qu2kw 10 місяців тому

      @@JR-uc1of appreciated.
      I was eagerly looking for this support.

    • @JR-uc1of
      @JR-uc1of 10 місяців тому

      @@Loki-qu2kw when you have the drawing open with the styles you want to transfer, go to the prospector tab, there will be another tab called “settings” from there you can find the drawing with the style you want. You can drag and drop that style into a drawing you have open if you find the style. There are many videos or online posts about it. If you search “civil 3D make a template” or “civil3d transfer styles to different drawings” you will get a better answer with video! Goodluck friend
