Biggest things that have helped me and are a priority:
1: ROTATION 1000% a team dies without it. That’s the most important.
2: Basic controls (pretty much just do everything a little bit faster without whiffing too much). You don’t need to be doing 360 aerial flips in the air. Just jump up and direct it where you want it, nothing fancy. Take turns fast. That’s it’s nothing fancy like the pros. Of course you can add it and it’ll help a lot but Basics is the priority.
3: Find a friend that you can play with consistently. Playing with randoms there’s no chemistry, no communication.
How do I get better at rotation? I feel like I cut rotation way too often. Do you have any videos that you used to get better?

@@CalvinIsBadNews I literally Demoted for the 5th Time this Morning. Everytime I Demote I get it back in 10 Minutes. It's just annoying Lol. I Played some 1's and Won 5 2v2 Matches in a Row after Promoting again. 1's Helps a Ton and gives me more Confidence to Shoot. Good Content.

I agree with everything you said except not playing in casual. I play 2 - 3 games on casual before i jump in ranked. That way i can get the "match feel" and adapt in ranked faster. After my practice, some friendly matches then ranked.

Im a gc1 stuck in champ 1 in 2v2s, well...was stuck until I stoped doing solo queue. FR playing with teammates that are worst than you by a lot changes you so bad

#8. I’m always conflicted about the “play with friends” comments. I solo q which is extremely hard but I always know I was never carried. I’ve always said that a solo would probably be a rank higher with mates and a team player would probably be a rank down solo. I’ve watched streamers try to “prove their rank” by soloing and it usually lasts about an hour. 😄

i quit RL in June 2021 and came back recently and didnt really know how much my schedule would let me play so i didnt really care about my rank and didnt get tilted at my teammates and because of that i went from plat 1 to diamond 3

i am like 1850mmr in unraked (gc players) and i am normally like 1200 mmr in competitive its like a nice thing to see players play faster and stuf so you need to play faster to to keep up in your unraked mmr(i know most people are gonne say its not true but it is my gameplay improved much bc of this) so just play unraked until your 1800 mmr ot like 1600mmr and then you need to improve if you wanne play a little competitive in unraked and see results in ranked ty:)
I am 2k mmr in casual and I usually face people higher than my rank, I also try hard cause I use it as a warmup for comp

as a gc myself can confirm, positioning, shooting, and passing is key, if you train cool mechs nice itll help when you can get the ball over and then leave / follow the play if you can. major problem I see is STOP TURNING THE BALL OVER, keep it close and dribble / ground play is more effective to conserve boost when needed, mastering flicks is scary.

@@EneasTRJ what most helped me was the "blame yourself always" and watching replays combined. I could see my mistakes, and had the time to correct them on training in the other day. Took a couple weeks, but I went from c3 dv3 to gc1 dv3 and basically never dropped gc (when playing tryhard) after that

THIS GUY IS SO UNDERRATED
To be dead serious, plat is one of the hardest ranks to get out of. I used to be diamond 2, but I dropped down to plat 1 to boost people for credits. In plat, your tm8s suck so much that you have to play your own 1v3 and hope for the best. I have had a higher win rate in champ this season than plat.
This is not necessarily for you but for anyone that's reading this that's stuck in plat. I wouldn't say it's harder... just that you need to change your play style accordingly. I think the key to get out of plat is defense. If your mindset is to do everything because "your teammates suck" you're gonna struggle big time because undoubtedly you'll be overcommitting for things a plat teammate won't be able to cover for you. So, I think the fastest way to rank up is just to run a tight defense. If you're taking care of not getting scored on your teammates will eventually score or you'll get a free goal because you're also going up against plats so you WILL get chances to score.

Defense is the number 1 disability of players, followed by rotations. seems like every how to rank up video hardly if ever mentions Defense enough, does not matter how great your offense is when you give up more goals than you can score, or you put your tm8 in a position where they have to try and make some crazy save .
you can get away with not making every goal you shoot, you cannot get away with missing every shot against you.

To anyone worried about losing your rank, you can always make a second account and rank that one up to the rank you are currently at. Then you won't feel bad if you derank on your main, beacuse you know you still have the same rank on another account if you ever need to flex on your friends :^)

What about when our team8 is being really aggressive and failing miserably… seems to happen alot in this rank they just keep passing it directly to the other team and they never even notice.
That's how most of the games you play will be. Try to not get tilted, try to find your mistake, what you couldve done better. Sometimes teammates just throw, can't do anything about it. The way you think of your mate is usually the way they think about you. This vid pretty much sums it up well.
